Jim Campbell, owner, is a pleasure to do business with. He's professional and friendly at the same time. He explained everything to my satisfaction. He sent his son to do the installation, and he was equally professional and friendly. He too explained everything before and after the installation. He did a good cleanup after he was through.

Marge needed a good deal of care and walking. She has progressed to the point where she needs little care now.

Jasmine  from administration brought three people for me to interview. I chose one. It has gone well and I am kept informed of changes.

    Assistance Home Care
After our initial evaluation, we set up 3 appointments so that we could "interview" caregivers. Either Chrissy or Sally accompanied the candidate to the appointment. We were able to interview and interact with the person. Chrissy and/or Sally contacted us to get our thoughts about the meeting. We ended up choosing one person for the lead caregiver and the other 2 will be on the backup team.  My mom is very comfortable with her decision.  The caregiver "clocks in and out" by calling from the home phone. The hours/days are flexible to meet our needs.  We are very happy with every aspect of Assistance Home Care, from the initial meeting with Sarah and Chrissy to the assistance given by the caregiver. They make a very difficult decision much easier for all involved.

    A Hildebrandt Contracting LLC
They were wonderful to work with. Easy to contact with follow-up questions. Patient (had to delay decision making due to illness). Just an excellent experience. Local company and so very responsive. Prompt and efficient in installation of the stairlift. Couldn't have asked for a better company to work with.

They were all very professional and very good. They were always on time. The billing was handled through Medicare; I didn't pay them a penny. I would recommend them.

    A Place For Mom
A Place for Mom has  "specialists" who are responsible for different areas of the city, and the one I spoke to was informative, and seemed genuinely concerned about my mom's situation; they knew which questions to ask me, and could answer my queries with no difficulty.  I provided the zip code, and within minutes I was e-mailed a list of both home health care agencies and residential facilities in the area, complete with descriptions of services, photographs, and web sites.  "Sandra" even arranged appointments for me to visit the elder care facilities she recommended,  and kept in touch while I discussed the options with my mother.  Eventually Mom chose to have an assistant come twice a week, in three-hour blocks, and the home health care agency's supervisors came out to interview her personally, to assure a good "fit" with the employee they selected for her. A Place for Mom is a national placement agency, and their services are completely FREE. They personally visit all the agencies or homes that they list, and remove those that no longer meet their standards.  They accept no advertising, and receive support from the communities they serve. Even after my mother had made arrangements for home health care, A Place for Mom telephoned me regularly to make sure the service was acceptable, and to keep aware of any additional needs my mom had.  Referrals are made based on the level of care required, and my mom is cogent enough to manage her own meds, so her assistant actually served more as a companion than a health worker. My mother's attitude, and health in general, surprisingly improved with the introduction of this regular "friend" in her life. Although she has since cancelled the service, A Place for Mom continues to contact me evey 6-8 weeks, to make certain that my mom is doing ok.  I recommend A Place for Mom with absolutely no reservations. It is an excellent first contact when contemplating care for an elderly person.
