    Birkenmeier & Sons Inc
Al and his team were a dream to work with. Al is a skilled contractor who knows the best in St. Louis. He assembled a great group people to handle our home renovation. They completed our home renovation project on time in 3 months and within budget. Al and his right-hand man started the project every morning at 6:30 am. Al held weekly meetings with us to go over work that was completed and next steps. They worked on schedule or ahead of schedule, always keeping us informed of surprises that they ran into (termite damage for example). Al was flexible and calm. Even when he hit snags he had ideas to make it work or suggestions to change our plan. We knew little to nothing about home remodeling and Al guided us along the entire project. He never made us feel dumb for asking questions and was always respectful and professional. After our renovation was complete, several of our neighbors used Al to complete their own renovation projects. They saw how hard he worked and the how beautiful his finished product was. If you are looking for a general contractor, youd be lucky to hire Al. Its been several years since our project was completed and we still call him with questions or advice. Just last week he sent out the glass company that installed our custom shower to re-attach a glass pane.free of charge. Do yourself a favor and give this company a call!!

Marian has done a great job for me over the years. He is very helpful and resourceful. He always plans well and finds the right materials and the right way to do it at first try. He has done a lot of big and small projects for me over the years in two houses and always has done an excellent job. I can recommend him for any project.

    Dan Weber General Construction LLC
We contracted with Dan Weber General Construction to build out the lower level of our 3 yr old home. We added two bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchen/bar area, play area, family room with custom built-ins and storage areas. The project took approximately 12 weeks and turned out beautifully; we couldn't be happier with the results! Dan and his tradespeople were terrific! They were friendly, professional, and respectful of our home during the project. We could count on Dan for excellent communication and flexibility. We would highly recommend Dan Weber General Construction to others needing contracting services!

    Timberland Tree Service
Look no further. Absolutely outstanding customer service and quality work. Year after year we have tried some of the top referred tree cutting companies and this by far beats them all and will definitely be using them permanently. We live in the Town&Country area and have over 14 trees on our residence and have expensive pavement and infrastructure but they showed exemplary care from start to finish!!! They are AMAZING and extremely trustworthy and hardworking and worked every step of the way to make sure we were happy. We had one large tree removed next and close to our home and removed the stump and all perfectly and safely. Pruning of very large trees in a great form! They are also REASONABLE IN PRICING. We are also extremely a discerning customer and to put this review to let others who are struggling to find a fabulous tree cutting company.

    Norse Construction, LLC
TERRIBLE HOMEOWNER EXPERIENCE 1) Concrete cutting was done terribly and ended up causing home to be completely coated with thick and sickening layers of concrete dust. Norse construction did provide HEPA filtered vacum cleaning and air cleaning machines to deal with immediate mess that they caused, but not clear what the long term implications are for family health. I also need to hire a company to inspect and clean out all the duct work and filters which will be additional cost. 2) Second egress window was a mess and resulted in multiple (close to 10 separate incidents) sequential floodings of basement causing additional damage to existing finished bathroom and potential mold or other damage to concrete floor may result due to the multiple floodings. Norse construction unable or unwilling to find the root cause of the water filling up the window well (see pictures attached) and flooding the basement and kept blaming previous work on the home as not being done properly. We reminded them that the prior window had never leaked water into the basement for the 12 years prior to their working on it so whatever was done previously was working. At one point basement was flooding for over 3 days before Bruce came in with a temporary preventative measure. Bruce now has indicated that he will be charging me a daily rental for the pump and for scrappy tarp that was used to cover the outside of the window well to try to prevent flooding, none of which were authorized spend.. Unbelievable. Pictures attached showing both tarp and pump which have not been removed from my property even as at this time. 3) Scheduling challenge with plumber unable to gain access to property. Norse construction called me at work. After some initial communication back and forth as we could not understand why plumber could not access property i took an excuse from work and advised Norse I was on my way back to property to let plumber in. Norse advised that there was no need to return to property and that we would abandon that attempt. A few weeks later i receive a $500 bill pass through from Norse for plumber not being able to access property. Bruce Jovaag refused to take any responsibility in that situation and the following is an excerpt of email from him: "As far as the plumbers bill is concerned, it is the homeowners responsibility to provide adequate access to achieve said scope of work. This was not the case and as such the additional billing was incurred. Let it be known that NO additional work will be provided by Norse Construction on this property until such time as the account is brought current." - no acknowledgment that homeowner was on way back to figure out access and was told not to. 4) Attempted to get a face to face meeting to discuss and try to work through issues from a request dated June 17th but kept getting excuses like too busy meeting new clients, taking a day off to catch up etc all communicated via email and text and I finally arrived at conclusion that my business was not important to this contractor and requested a city inspection of work done so I could move on with a new contractor. My city inspector was surprised to find out that the contractor had put up all the stud walls without starting or completing the code required vertical and horizontal fire blocking to sill plate with drywall. As this is required I now have to have another contractor take the studs down to put the fire blocking up or use another material for fireblocking that is significantly more expensive. I hope this contractor will do the right thing now and refund for work not done and for any subsequent damage from flooding without my having to take legal action. Attached is one of the invoices paid for electrical work but as you can see from my basement pictures no electrical work was done. I know the electric subcontractor that was given the work and they never performed any service yet this contractor has refused to refund this amount and other amounts for authorized work invoiced and paid. 5) Additionally city issues 6 month permits. My permit just expired. The job failed to be completed in that time frame but I am sure this contractor will find reasons to blame everything else for why we were unable to complete a basement remodel in 6 months. I could go on and on about my disastrous experience with this contractor but my hope is that this reference and the pictures shown tell the story. I hope this inspires him to return the money paid asap. I will definitely be filing for help with the Better Business Bureau and taking legal action as is necessary. This contractor in my opinion gives the whole industry a bad rap it was very unfortunate for me that I selected this vendor from Angies List.

    Perma Jack of St Louis
My experience with Perma Jack was very professional. They were prompt with my bid the date promised they were there on time as scheduled. My basement is dry, even after big rains it's dry! I really can't say enough about how good my experience was Now I understand why my neighbor said, "only use Perma Jack."

    Hoffman Concrete, LLC
Mark and his team were "top notch" from start too finish. My project was delayed due to the horrible weather we had all summer. They did there best to get to me asap. They are very knowledgeable on all ends of concrete project. From suggesting more support for an area I may put a hot tub, to recommending how to tie in a cedar retaining wall that i added after the project was over. Mark or his GC (Jack) was present throughout the whole operations to make sure everything was done to the highest quality. I am going to use again in the near future to do my front aggregate side walk after viewing the great job he did at my neighbors house.

    Patrick Interior Finish LLC
Great, thanks Patrick. All work and cleanup was completed on schedule. One of the main reasons that I picked Patrick as opposed to remodeling companies is that he only does drywall. Also he came back about 4 times and put on very thin successive layers of drywall joint compound instead of others who wanted to put the compound on all at once. I believe that multiple layers of joint compound that dry before the next application must be used to get an invisible joint.

Quacker's Waterproofing & Basement Repair, LLC
I called and they immediately scheduled an appointment to quote the job.  They went over all the aspects of the job and answered any questions that I had.  Each crack took approximately 30 mins to complete.  I received a transferrable warranty with each and they emailed it to me in a timely manner.  Using Angie's list they also gave me a discount.  Would recommend using them.
