    New Transitions LLC
We decided not to use New Transitions for the following reasons:
    1) There were some awkward moments during our initial meeting (I simply asked the representative, Bryan, if installing crown molding in an additional room along with the above mentioned projects now would give us a better deal than doing it as a single project in the future. Bryan said he does not give deals as he has lots of clients and he does not wait for phones to ring. Good for him, but I thought his response did not make business sense because doing it now would save him additional trip to my house and possibly he could get a slight discount on the price/sqf of the crown molding when he purchases more of it.)

    2) During our initial meeting, I asked Bryan to send us an itemized bid with as much detail as possible so that I can compare it to the bids from other contractors. I followed up with him one week after our meeting. He informed me that he only works on bids during the evenings and it will take two weeks to prepare our bids. Bryan eventually sent me the bid and it contained no details at all. The bid simply lists the name of the projects and the cost to perform it. Just to give you an example, our kitchen remodel includes moving the cabinetry around to accomodate new appliances; replacing the kitchen island with a new one and bring a gas line to the island for the new cook top and installing vent above the cooktop as well as installing new countertops throughout the kitchen. Instead of providing us with the price of each, he simply gave us a number for the whole project and that price did not even include the cost of countertops, which is a major cost for the kitchen project. I sent him an e-mail to get more details and an itemized bid, but have not heard from him yet and I really do not have time to wait anymore as it already has been three weeks since our initial meeting.

    3) New Transitions estimate is almost twice as much as of those of other companies'. As I have not received any details, I do not know if they have a good justification for their relatively high prices. All I know is the other companies, all of them are BBB accredited and Angie's List Super Service Award winners for multiple years, gave me very detailed and competitve bids so we decided to hire one of those companies for our projects.

They didn’t seem to work with me on a degree as I didn’t want the countertops and wanted the faucets installed before they install the vanity. They more or less are not plumbers so I could understand. They completed the work and I got a granite countertop with them. I don’t have problems working with them.
