Hospital Care reviews in Columbia

Very nice people, friendly, hardly any wait before I was called back. I sat in the examining room a bit longer than it seemed I should, as they were not at all busy.
I was seen by a nurse practicioner who, I felt, was extremely competent. She gave me good instructions and sent me on my way.
    I highly recommend this place!!

The short term stay I had there, part of it was good. The regular hospital was not quite so much, but it was still adequate. I had a surgery and I was released the following day and it might have been either premature or without sufficient information which ended up with me having to come back and be re-admitted.

Boone Hospital has a great staff - everyone from the info desk to the surgeons is helpful and patient. I have spent time in waiting rooms, in surgery prep rooms, in consultations, and all of my interactions are quite positive. I think it's the best hospital in the central Missouri area, and if I have to have a procedure, this is where I would want to have it.

The staff and care given was outstanding.  The urgent care facility is the best i have had to deal with. I was checked out and a doctor was called in to check my leg. I was given medicine and a shot to help with healing. They in formed that it was adviseable that i see my regular doc within three days. I was very impressed with all that was done. When i saw my reg doctor i was informed i had LYMPHEDEMA  in my left leg.

After arriving at the hospital, we did the standard filling out of forms and then waited in a room for a physician to show up. The forms process was relatively easy compared to my previous hospital experiences. The downfall for them was the amount of wait time we had while my wife was in pretty severe pain. They treated that pain prior to the physician arrival but our concern was determining the actual condition and we needed a doctor for that and it was about 45 minutes before we were able to actually see a doctor. Then we had to wait while they prepped her for tests to actually determine the source of the pain. Once it was determined, a course of action was discussed but not until after another wait of another hour. We left the hospital that night with instructions and what should have taken 30 minutes to an hour lasted some 4 hours longer than necessary due to the wait times. They did provide the correct diagnosis and did a professional job and were friendly.

I have taken my son here twice in the last couple of months. The first time was for poison ivy on his face and the second time for an ear ache and fever. Both times we were seen relatively quickly compared to the time I have spent at other Urgent Cares and ERs. Both times the nurses and doctors were attentive and did a good job of making my child relax.

I am happy there and I give them the highest grades. They are the main hospital for all the veterans in the middle part of the country so availability can be difficult sometimes. I will use them again in the future.

It's a teaching hospital so you get doctors and residents. The doctor I currently see is a resident. I've been going for 20 years and have had no problems. They are pleasant people from staff to doctors and the hospital is the same way.

I see them two different neurologists that work out of the hospital, they have got their clinics on the side there and I see both of them for two separate things. I would not persist on using them again and would not use them unless I needed.

They have a very good quality service.  They have a good nursing staff.  They have good diagnosticians.  Everything is there for testing if need be.  They have a low infection rate.  They are excellent with follow up.  If you have any kind of surgery, they always call you the day after you are home.  Their staff is excellent.  They have a tendency, all hospitals do, to find too many patients that they can take care of.  It is all about money.  They are pretty responsive.  They seem to be lagging a little bit in their billing.  It is not a big deal; it is just that my personal experience is that they have a little bit of a lag time.  It is things like, when you have made a payment, but when you get the statement it is not reflected on that, then they just do a crossing in the mail thing.
