How Much Does a Concrete Foundation Cost?

Foundation Repair reviews in Columbia

Every job went well and as expected. Job costs were reasonable for the work done. When inspections are done Paul is very clears as to what needs to done or why nothing needs to be done. Very professional.

He examined the area of the foundation where the leak occurred. It was a really hot day. He personally dug down to locate a drain pipe that had been covered up by landscaping. He told us he was pretty sure that was the problem and not a cracked foundation wall. Had he been unethical he could have told us it was cracked and proceed to expensive repairs. He was very knowledgeable and professional, as well as pleasant and friendly.

They arrived on time and did a great job and were more than fair in their business practices.  Paul was absolutely a gem.  He would not give up on our issue until we were no longer getting water in the basement!
I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

Darrell Wooten and Foundation Recovery Systems did an outstanding job on my project.  I had standing water in my crawl space.  Darrell was professional, courteous, prompt and reliable in all our dealings.  He came quickly to look at the job and provide an estimate.  He clearly explained how to remedy the problem.  He was far more experienced and professional than the other contractors I had bid the job, and I was very comfortable and confident in selecting FRS to do the job.  I was not sorry I did.  Darrell has remained in contact with me throughout the process, providing updates and even advising me on other water and drainage issues that may have been contributing to the problem (gutters, etc.).  He was trustworthy and honest.  His crew was prompt and efficient.  They did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it.  I highly recommend them.

The representative did not give me much information nor did he go under the house in the crawl space to evaluate the condition and needs. He handed me a pamphlet with some prices and a few words written on it .I was having a yard sale and my help hadn't showed up yet so perhaps he was trying to be quick, but it seemed that he just didn't really want to fool with the job.

They were too expensive.  The man was nice enough, but that was not in my budget. He did a beautiful job and was very thorough about things. The quality of customer service was good and he got right back with me.

So they did the work in the dead of winter when bushes are dormant. I understand they couldn't guarantee if the grass would grow back or if the bushes would survive, but they pulled the bushes and just set them to the side, AND then left them there! They didn't even try to replant them! Well that's a guarantee they'll die. They overseeded the front part of the yard ok, but the side and back are so rough a normal human won't be able to walk on it. They didn't even try to smooth it out (and don't tell me the ground was frozen b/c I was able to smooth it out just with a rake. And it looks like they used half the amount of seed in the back and sides. It has spouted but throughout the entire side and back each blade of grass is more than an inch apart. And the patio slab didn't get the dirt pushed back against it and so it is completely undermined with at least a 6 inch gap under neath it (this was all discovered the day after they left, so you can't blame time or weather.

They did the work -The next BIG rain and water was running all over the basement floor --just as it did before I had the work done.  I called and they returned to tell me that the work crew installed the drains improperly.  So they had to jack hammer up the cement AGAIN and install a spacer so the water would run into the drain and not across the floor.  Basically they had to do the job twice.  The work crews were nice and hard workers --but I did feel that someone should have known how to properly install drains.  It shouldn't have required a re-do if someone on the crew was knowledgeable.
I also paid for them to dig trenches and lay pipe under my downspouts to move the water away from my house.  Hindsight, I should have done this myself.  I expected them to dig a deeper trench and lay down a bit of gravel or something under the pipe.  Basically they just scratched out a shallow trench and put in a pipe and threw the dirt back on top.  It works, but wasn't a professional job.  But I must add, it was POURING rain outside while they did this and I can understand their hurry to get the task finished.
My one other gripe was that they had to haul the broken concrete and stuff up the basement stairs and out through the kitchen.  they didn't have any tarps or  coverings to protect the floor.  I hauled in some stuff I had and ended up cleaning up muck off the floor and steps after they left.
A final note:  Yes, I would use them again.  I received several bids for this project and they came in well under the bids of several other companies.  I didn't expect a "white glove" type of service and in the end, am happy with the work they did.  They didn't nickle and dime me with their bid like another company--who wanted me to pay a "set up" charge and also pay for insurance if THEY broke something.  I felt the cost was fair and the work they did was ok.  I would have given them top scores if they had done the job right the first time and didn't have to return a second time.

Salesman was very professional and knowledgeable, until I had questions later. He was hard to reach, and when I did, his answer wasn't great. I had specifically asked about the work done under a concrete slab: How would they remove the concrete? With a saw? His initial answer was "yes," but then he said it depends on the crew. In other words, he didn't know, and should have just said that.
My concern about the concrete removal was a non-issue. They used a jackhammer, and removed a square fairly cleanly. However, they did not pack the dirt down before replacing the concrete, meaning it sank after a good rainfall, leaving a big void under the slab. It was no trouble getting that work redone, although the original pour looked better from the surface.
I am satisfied and confident in the pier-work and the hardware itself, and glad I had the work done for piece of mind.

Salesman is very friendly and "talks a good game" to sell you on their company.  When they did the work they damaged the siding on the house, knocked down the drain pipe, and damaged the portico on the entrance to our home.  Instead of returning the dirt to the trench they dug to work on the foundation they spread it all over half of the front lawn.  It was a mess!
I called the company repeatedly to complain about the mess they left but they did not accept responsibility.  We had to hire someone to repair all the damage to the house, which they did pay for eventually, put we had to hire someone else to repair the damage to the lawn.
The foundation crack was under the front door and they supported one side but not the other.  I called the company repeatedly to ask them to fix the problem but they denied any responsibility.  The job was not completed properly and I ended up calling another company to come in and repair the problem.
