    My experience with In Vision Eye Care center was a long story. I went for an eye examination on July, 2015. Dr Radkowiec did the examination and gave me a prescription for a new pair of glasses. Well, this pair of glasses did not work, because it did not seem the focus was right.  Dr Radkowiec re-examined my eyes and concluded the prescription was correct, and the problem may be related to the frame. Two weeks later, Dr Heather (the owner of this eye care center) and her manager told me that I can choose another frame that suits me better and they will re-order my glasses for free. This time my glasses worked greatly. I appreciate their service very much. The first time I did not know how to choose a frame that is best for me. Thankfully they offered me another chance to choose a better one.

    The LASIK procedure went exactly as described during my pre-op visit, taking only a few minutes from the time I entered the procedure room. The LASIK procedure with Dr McGarity went very smoothly and my recovery has gone better than I had anticipated with very little post proceduce discomfort.

    Having had numerous eye surgeries including cataract and PTK from a provider in another city from which I moved, I needed a regular check up examination to ascertain my eye health. Dr. McGarity's office was more than accomodating in helping me set up an appointment. The appointment was right on schedule. Cathy, Dr McGarity's assistant was delightful and extremely thorough.
    Dr McGarity was not only very cordial, polite and professional, but his examination was perhaps the most thorough eye exam I've ever experienced. He was methodical, detailed, accurate, and precise. He explained every aspect of his examination and answered each of my questions thoroughly and knowledgeably.
    I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. McGarity and his staff. From my initial contact as a new patient to the check-out person, I was treated with exceptional care and professionalism.

    When I had my surgery in 2012, I had complications that Dr. McGarity did not know how to address. I got a second opinion after I requested it.
    In July 2014, I had my second cataract surgery done in Kansas City and everything went fine.

    Wonderful.  I was able to get an appointment on short notice before the end of the year.  They did my exam and gave me plenty of trial pairs so that I could get comfortable with my new eyes.  And when it came time to order they got me a deal and 100$ rebate!  Now i'm set for the year.

    I went to get fitted for contacts for the first time. I wanted to experiment with correcting one eye for near vision and one eye for distant vision to see if that would allow me to carry out more activities without glasses. It's sometimes called "blended vision" and it works fine for some people and not for others. Dr. Liepins did the exam and fitting. She was very easy to communicate with and understood immediately what I was trying to do. She put an extraordinary effort into selecting the lenses and testing me with them. I have never had a medical professional work harder trying to achieve a good outcome. I would give her the highest possible recommendation. The only negative I can think of for the Mason Eye Clinic is that they are very busy, and their office at the University Hospital is very crowded. (Their other office, near Route 63 is newer and nicer). Nonetheless, all the staff I dealt with had a positive attitude and made my patient experience a good one in spite of the challenges presented by the crowded conditions.

    I suspected I had cataracts, so I went for an evaluation with Dr. Bonham. He told me that I did have cataracts and recommended surgery. He struck me as knowledgeable and conscientious. So far, so good. Unfortunately for him and the other doctors at the Columbia Eye Consultants, their process for managing patients is terrible. It involves being moved from one room to another, interspersed by long waits in a kind of holding tank, and conducted from place to place by people who appear to have little interest in the patient. My 10:15 appointment stretched well past noon, and toward the end the office was so deserted I was convinced that they had all gone to lunch and forgotten me. They hadn't, at least not all of them, but I didn't get the impression that anyone really cared how long I had had to wait. In the end, I decided to have the surgery done elsewhere. I think I would have gotten good quality medical care from Dr Bonham, but I think I would have had a miserable patient experience.

    The cataract surgery went very well. They didn't put me out but I was very groggy. I could see fuzzy light and hear them talk and it didn't take all that long. What really impressed me was in the recovery cubical I looked down and could read the typing on the wrist band they put on me before the surgery. It was clear as a bell without glasses. After the cataract surgery there was a followup series of drops to put in the eye for a few days and then a followup office visit to remove stitches. Everything was relatively pain free. I am very very happy with his service.
    Doctor has about 10 years experience in this field and he is very good at what he does.

    My appointment in February 2012 went very well! My appointment was with Dr. Carrell who was knowledgeable regarding hard-to-fit contact lens wearers. She was very thorough in the exam and fitting and the very first brand of contact lenses she suggested for my dry eyes worked beautifully. I'm difficult to fit for contact lenses because I have astigmatism, dry eyes, and I've had RK surgery. This is a bonus because many optometrists who say they specialize in hard-to-fit contact lens wearers really do not in my experience.
    The only thing that might be viewed as a negative is that the front office staff didn't call me when my lenses came in as they said the would; I finally called and they stated they had been in for over a week. It was a minor issue and didn't keep me from making an appointment the following year for my annual exam.
    I didn't have my eye exam at Sunshine Eye Clinic this year, because when I showed up for the appointment they said I wasn't on their calendar. I had made the appointment online through their website. The next available appointment for Dr. Carrell was two weeks out, and I needed contact lenses before then, so I made an appointment at another clinic. I plan to make another appointment with Dr. Carrell though and will be returning to Sunshine Eye Clinic.
    Negatives: The online appointment process needs some improvement. After I scheduled the appointment online a staff member called me to confirm that I made the appointment(?). I like the convenience of making my appointment online, because it's difficult for me to make phone calls from work. I suppose the argument could be made that they have Saturday hours, and I can call and make the appointment then, but I'm not that disciplined on the weekend. In this case, I wasn't able to get back to the staff member until a few days later and left a message on their voicemail that I was confirming the appointment that I made online. Somehow the appointment didn't make it onto their calendar, and when I appeared in the office at the scheduled appointment time one of the front office staff members seemed to want to argue with me about whether I actually called them back to confirm. I don't necessarily believe that the and quot;customer's always rightand quot;, but in this case I felt it was bad form on her part.
    The miscommunication about the appointment, however, would not deter me from returning to Dr. Carrell, and I highly recommend her and the Clinic.

    I have had chronic eye problems for many years and have visited numerous doctors. After working with Dr. Ajans Zguta, I will never go anywhere else. She is the first doctor to take the time to figure out why I was having problems and attempting to solve them with different treatments instead of moving to surgery like had been done previously. She spent a great deal of time and thought on my situation and I was able to see imrpovements. In fact, she is the only doctor to tell me that surgery was not necessary. This is the first time I'd been told this after having six or eight surgeries. She also doctored my dry eyes, which had never been dealt with in the past even though I had complained about problems seeing. I now can see better than I have in a long time and my eyes don't burn and hurt. She took time to answer my questions and work with me on dealing with my problems. My only regret with Columbia Eye Consultants is that I didn't go to them sooner.
