Excavating reviews in Columbia

They were prompt and showed up when they said they would ,there every day 8:00 am until job done . Frank Wolfe and wife were very personal and down to earth. He did the job for exactly what he estimated even though some of the job may have taken a little more work than anticipated . Frank is a old school straight shooter who takes pride in his work , checks with you throughout the job that things are what you want and will accommodate you until your happy . I wish all contractors were as conscientious and had as much pride in their work as he does , great guy and great work! You cant go wrong with this guy !

Brent and Scott and the crew were on time and ready to go. They started at 7:30 and finished around 4. The job site was very well organized and the new culvert installation looked great. Since then we have had a couple sizable rains and the culvert worked perfectly. My wife and I are very pleased and give C L Richardson our highest recommendation.

They were reasonably priced, punctual, quick, and professional. They went out of their way to make it a good experience. For example, there was a small tree in the way of the line and I was upset when I learned they'd have to take it out. On their own, the workers decided to try to dig that part of it without moving the tree. One man got down in the hole and held it up while the others replaced the line. It worked and the tree is still alive and healthy! That was really cool. Also, a few weeks after the job was done, the workers were doing another job in the neighborhood and decided to come by and use their equipment to level the ground a bit more for us. They were great and considerate and I'll use them again.

My wife and I were very pleased with Korte tree service. Our inquiry for a tree trimming estimate was responded to promptly and Josh was out to view the job a couples days later. We were impressed with Josh?s knowledge and care for the trees.  His estimate was very reasonable and the work was performed about a week later at a date and time we determined. The crew was on time and professional. After a brief discussion with he crew we decided to free a big old oak tree from being strangled by ivy, in addition to trimming the branches.  We appreciated their input and flexibility to get everything accomplished. Over all we highly recommend Korte tree service.

Karen returned my call promptly and scheduled an appointment to review the project. At the meeting Frank & Karen explained how they would handle the work and quoted a price for the work which was reasonable. They started the work 2 days later. During the first day of work their crew removed the old walk, step, excavated the area, installed the forms for the pour and cleaned up. On the 2nd day the concrete was poured, stamped & forms removed. On the morning 3rd day they washed the stamp release agent from the concrete and then returned late that afternoon to seal the concrete.
From start to finish, Frank and Karen were a pleasure to work with. During the work one or both of them were there working and supervising their workers. They listened to my input and promptly made a couple of changes I requested. Frank called the evening after the work was complete to make sure I was satisfied with the completed work.
They have definitely earned any future concrete work I will have.

Mr. Rooter was my second estimate.  The first guys charged me $75.00 just for an estimate.  Mr. Rooter came and did an estimate for free.  We decided to go with Mr. Rooter because they were going to be half the price.  I had to call a couple times just to find out when they were going to come do the work.  I asked for a written estimate, which I never received.  They ended up running into many issues and had to trench the whole yard to lay a new pipe.  They also said our outside hydrant needed to be replaced, which we had done only 6 years prior but we had them replace it anyway.  We asked for an additional hydrant to be placed in the front yard and they put it right in front of the gate that goes to the back yard.  My biggest complaint....after two days of work they let everything in a huge mess.  There is a trench around my house about knee high, my sidewalk has a 3/4 filled hole and concrete everywhere, my driveway is covered in dirt.  When I got home I literally had to climb a dirt mountain into my front door.

That's what I get for going with a cheaper service.

Everyone was very polite on the job itself. There were some weather-related delays, but all told, they did a decent job of it. However, they parked some pretty big equipment on my lawn and had to re-seed quite a bit. I was told by the city (this was within the city's easement) that the contractor would come back at approximately 90-120 intervals for a full year to check for problems and if the ground appeared to be sinking at all, would bring it back to grade. In the course of excavating, they dug up some enormous rocks, which they moved and arranged across the front of my lawn for me. They had already used a small bulldozer to shove my two large yucca plants and two large peonies out of their way, and then relocated them near the big rocks. Unfortunately, the pushing (the did NOT dig the plants up) ended up killing one yucca and one peony. In the months following, the ground did sink and when a hole began appearing at the edge of my driveway, I called to see when they would be by to "inspect" and repair it. Someone came by while I was at work, took soil from my garden area and filled in the hole. Another time I called because there was a fairly large area where they had obviously not put grass seed down. The young woman on the phone was rather rude and tried to tell me wind or birds had probably been at fault. She did, however, have someone come by and put down additional/new seed. My main complaint is that they obviously have NOT been coming by at ANY intervals to inspect, either on my property or that of my neighbors. The ground has sunk in along the entire lenght of the the pipe, from the sewer opening across the driveway to my neighbors'. Apparently they did come by to put more soil down next door, but according to my neighbor, it was mainly clay, and she couldn't get anything to grow on it. She planned to purchase good topsoil herself elsewhere...They've been in business a long time and tout customer satisfaction, but my lawn was ruined as far as I'm concerned.

We are really happy. They spent over 12 hours straight. They did great work. We called in the morning and they came out that after noon. They started the day after we called. I think the price was good.

Quoted me a price that could not be beat by anyone in town. Only took a day and a half to get it finished from dirt work to the concrete being poured. Would highly recommend

It was not an emergency but the response was fast, within 30 min. of calling.
