Was a complete success. Contact was quick and constant through emails (initial contact via phone). Evan dropped by a few times to discuss a couple of different ideas, and was open to the thoughts we had on the process. Never felt out of place to express thoughts or concerns. Everything finished a little under budget and in relatively little time at all. The retaining wall looks amazing, drain works well and even the grass used to seed the wall started sprouting a day or two later. I honestly think thats the first time I've ever seen that from any grass seed. Evan cleaned up the work area (driveway, street) and was always sure to return gates closed for my dogs.

Jimmie has done all of our work, and he's outstanding. Always professional, prompt and friendly. He takes the time to answer questions and goes above and beyond to make sure things are done right. We had a problem with a subcontractor and I was really impressed with how Jimmie handled the situation. Long story short, he did everything in his power to fix their mistakes and make things right. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter and continue to use them for not only my home, but also my offices in Columbia.

After the first heavy rain in the water leakage from the basement returned as worse as before. I told the company about out the failure. They came and saw the window leaking down into the basement and leaving a pool. For a solution the company recommended that I use the service of a partner or a friend in the landscaping business. The manager of Aarowbuilding accompanied his partner when he came to do the landscaping estimate. This could have cost me 2600. I told his professionality should have indicated the landscaping option rather than make me belief that his drain would do the job. The company refuse to shoulder any responsibility refused my suggestion to refund me at least one third of what I had paid them. I strongly believe I have been a victim of a rip-off in the name of professionality.

What I asked Evan to do, he did quite satisfactorily.  After spring rainfalls, I discovered that I had not given all the information he needed, so there is a bit more work to be done.  Therefore, I have to assume responsibility for the fact that some more work needs to be done.
ADVICE:  Make sure that you know  all that you want him to do.  Don't just guess.

I was having a problem with a leaky pipe, for quite some time. Tried fixing it myself but it was just a temporary fix. I called Roto- Rooter and they came out the same day. Gave me an estimate and after I gave them the okay they got to work. Roto-Rooter was fast, quiet, and polite each time they came out. They gave me advice on how what to do before calling them next time to possibly save myself some money. I would defiantly refer them to anyone!

Everyone was very polite on the job itself. There were some weather-related delays, but all told, they did a decent job of it. However, they parked some pretty big equipment on my lawn and had to re-seed quite a bit. I was told by the city (this was within the city's easement) that the contractor would come back at approximately 90-120 intervals for a full year to check for problems and if the ground appeared to be sinking at all, would bring it back to grade. In the course of excavating, they dug up some enormous rocks, which they moved and arranged across the front of my lawn for me. They had already used a small bulldozer to shove my two large yucca plants and two large peonies out of their way, and then relocated them near the big rocks. Unfortunately, the pushing (the did NOT dig the plants up) ended up killing one yucca and one peony. In the months following, the ground did sink and when a hole began appearing at the edge of my driveway, I called to see when they would be by to "inspect" and repair it. Someone came by while I was at work, took soil from my garden area and filled in the hole. Another time I called because there was a fairly large area where they had obviously not put grass seed down. The young woman on the phone was rather rude and tried to tell me wind or birds had probably been at fault. She did, however, have someone come by and put down additional/new seed. My main complaint is that they obviously have NOT been coming by at ANY intervals to inspect, either on my property or that of my neighbors. The ground has sunk in along the entire lenght of the the pipe, from the sewer opening across the driveway to my neighbors'. Apparently they did come by to put more soil down next door, but according to my neighbor, it was mainly clay, and she couldn't get anything to grow on it. She planned to purchase good topsoil herself elsewhere...They've been in business a long time and tout customer satisfaction, but my lawn was ruined as far as I'm concerned.

When they did their free camera inspection they found a broken fitting and needed to excavate. They made all the arrangements, informed me of the step by step process and showed up on time and did exactly what they said. It even cost less than their estimate.

I am so glad I found Evan Tannenbaum. He is super easy to deal with, he is as honest as the day is long, and he does a SUPER! Job. Wish there were more contractors like him.
