    I've been going to Big O Tires on Business Loop for the last 6 years, ever since we moved to a house nearby. I liked how close it was to my house for convenience, I can drop my car off and walk home, then walk back when it's done. I have kept going because I am always so impressed with their professionalism and service. Just like the big car places, they have a courtesy car (or truck) that will take you to work and pick you up when your car is done if you want. They are generally very fast, and their prices are fair, and cheaper than the dealership for sure. I don't feel like they're trying to take advantage of me being a woman who knows little about cars, I trust them when they say I need something fixed (which I rarely do, which is another reason I trust them!). For the record, as of writing this my car is 12 years old, and still runs great, been taking it there and only there since I purchased it about 7 years ago. They don't try that gimmick thing with me where they try to show me a part of and quot;my carand quot; that and quot;needs to be changedand quot; or whatever some of the other places used to try on me before I found Big O. They don't try to push some unnecessary parts or service on me like some places do. I trust them to give it to me straight, and they do!

    The owners are Mike and Yuri and they are both great mechanics and good guys.  They are honest and trustworthy and I won't go anywhere else.  They are very professional, conscientious, and flexible with scheduling work, and they never fail to fit me in when it's an emergency.  They don't have a fancy location with a nice waiting room serving cappuccino and cookies, but they have fair pricing and they are HONEST.   I had to go to the dealership once for warranty work.  While I was there for warranty work only, they inspected my car without being asked, they failed my inspection, and they found about eight other items that needed to be fixed and they gave me a quote for the repairs.  I went straight to MY Auto in case any of the "newly found issues" needed to be taken care of right away.  Mike and Yuri said most of them were bogus and the small legitimate tasks cost about a tenth of the price at the dealership.  I have a 2006 Mercedes ML 350 that I got through them a couple of years ago.

    I had reason to think the problem with my dash light was with my hand brake not being reset. This company told me it was the brake cylinder that needed to be replaced. They said it would cost $350.  I asked him if he was sure and he told me he was. I immediately took the car to my Toyota dealer who checked it out and told me there was nothing wrong with the brake cylinder. They said it was just a sensor that reset itself and they passed it through the inspection. I think M Y should have done a better job of diagnosing this problem and I thought this was crooked. I filed a report with the auto inspection people here but I am not sure if they ever did anything about it. I had done business with them for two or three years and this was pretty blatant.

    They are really good.  All they charged for was the inspection because I had my own blades and they put them in.  They are very reasonable.  They are friendly and they get everything done in a nice amount of time.  They are real quick and very professional.  I only go to them.

    Considering the big picture, I went in with a car that needed to scraped and taken to a salvage yard.  I admit that now.  Repairing any car is never a fun experience, but working with Steve, I felt like I was treated as a human and not as someone to run over.  

    The question is:  Would I return for future auto repairs?  I provide a resounding 'YES'.   To the question of whether I would recommend his services to friends or strangers in the Columbia, MO area, I reply without hesitation, 'YES!!!!'.

    Your car might take you for a ride, but Columbia Car Care won't.  I learned about them through Angie's List and now I return with this brief little review of the experience of my car's final days.  So I say you, "Go to Columbia Car Care and at least know that the owner of the business is solid, he has a conscience, and he teaches his comrades to be honest when working with clientele.  

    This whole experience reminds of how I suppose there are two paths that auto mechanics can take in their careers:

    1.  Run roughshod over customers knowing that the majority of the populace will always need mechanics, for as long as the automobile serves as the primary means of transportation.  The mechanic understands that even if there is an attrition rate in this industry there will always be a new un-assuming customer to take for few additional hundred dollars.

    2.  The alternative is what I suspect is the path that Steve has taken from Columbia Car Care:  be honest with the customers, treat them with respect, shoot straight, do good work, and know that this formula will provide customer retention and growth by virtue of word of mouth.

    This is for the Niphong location. 

    Had a 'cat-back' dual-exhaust system installed on my truck. Having the pipes custom-bent, hung, and welded (as well as including Stainless Steel tips) cost less then buying a cat-back system alone would have at other shops. The work was well and quickly done, looks great, and they even let me bring in a muffler I had purchased elsewhere which many places refuse to allow (the price above is the price of the whole job if purchasing a Flowmaster from them, the one I brought cost slightly more). The ones they carry are great (Flowmaster and others), and I've used those exact mufflers in the past, but I had a specific one I wanted to use this time for a different sound. 

    Only complaint is that the welds weren't sprayed or treated for rust (only reason I gave a 'B' for quality), but a $10 can of Rustoleum (sp?) and a few minutes with a wire brush and masking tape took care of that. That's more for MY peace of mind than anything else though.

     I was treated well, the staff was friendly, courteous, and informative, and at no time did I get the feeling they were being anything other than forthcoming about the work. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.

    Summary: INFLATED PRICE OVER 50% - LIED TWICE - STOLE MY KEYS - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! After having car trouble for 15miles, I tried to pull my vehicle to the shoulder, instead it locked up and slid PARTIALLY into a ditch. I was 8 months pregnant and had my husband in the passenger seat, the stress caused false labor so I called Emergency Services. A cop and ambulance arrived. We didn't have a tow company so the police alerted AJ's towing. AJ's towing did show up quickly, however AJ's shop was located nearby. The towing man was completely unprofessional, did not communicate at all. He hooked the car, at which point I asked for an estimate. He ignored me. He towed the car one exit and to our driveway, under 20 miles total. After unhitching he turned and told me the total was $100, not having that much cash I paid half and requested that I drop the rest off the next day. He balked and gave a speech about how it would "upset his boss man, and he would get in trouble!". He finally agreed and when I went in the next day, our towing man was at the front desk, I asked to speak to the manager and it was then that he revealed he was the owner! he had LIED to me! I explained that using another local company I had been towed nearly twice as far and had to use the towing winch for only $40. He stated that he always charged a $50 winch fee. After stating my case again and only asking for $10 discount he explained that it WASN'T REALLY A WINCH FEE, HE CHARGED ME $50 "because he had to get on his back in the snow, early in the morning". After LYING to me a second time I decided to pay him the remainder and leave. This is the best part: After paying him, he hands me the keys to my vehicle. In the stress of the previous morning I hadn't thought to grab them out of the vehicle. He had STOLEN the keys, after dropping off our car and had kept them in what I can only assume was an effort to make sure I came back the next day to pay the remainder of our bill. Summary: INFLATED OUR BILL BY OVER 50% - LIED TWICE - STOLE OUR KEYS - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

    It was good, they told me it would take an hour and it did. They did make a mistake and didn't tighten all of my lug-nuts up on one tire; this caused a lot of knocking. I called them up and they said to bring it back, when I got there they instantly looked at it and fixed their mistake. They also had me come back the next day to make sure that they hadn't done any damage to the tire or the car.

    I called ahead and asked for an appointment. I was told to just come in and have it inspected. I was there probably no more than 15 minutes and was given honest information about my vehicle. The owner, Homer, talked to me about what he had inspected and was very warm and friendly. The other mechanic on duty, Eric, was quite friendly and helpful as well. I was treated exceptionally well. When I inquired about an oil change, he told me straight up that I'd be looking at $50 since he doesn't buy oil in bulk and that his quality was, on average better than some national franchises, his price was not competitive.
