Radon Testing reviews in Chesterfield

I spoke to Cherie and St Louis Radon and she was extremely helpful. She asked me many questions about our system and where we were and were not seeing the mold. She had me send her some pictures and was then able to tell us that it was likely mildew due to condensation in a hot garage over time. She could have tried to convince me that I needed a whole system replacement, but she did not try to sell me something I didn't need. That level of professionalism and trust is priceless. Thank you!!

Went very well.  Found company via bid from sellers of the house we purchased.  Kris was great to work with.  The radon level did not drop as low as hoped when system was installed, but Kris was very helpful in pursuing other solutions to lower the level which I appreciated as have had multiple instances where company disappeared after they were paid.  Totally recommend this company!

As we had high levels of radon in our home, saint louis radon was able to fit us into an early schedule. They provided a detailed plan of how and what they were going to do once they arrived. They were done with the installation in about a couple of hours and everything was cleaned up to perfection. They did a really great job.

The service was fine. The problem was when you find Radon in your basement, there is no suggestions of what to do about it, or what direction to take, or how much you should spend on it, or how fast you should get on it, or whether you could just open all your windows and air it out to make it better next time. The actual item they promised seemed fine.We didn't pay anything additional, and it was done in a timely fashion. I didn't know what I wanted from them, when I went for it, but they supplied what they promised they would supply.

Steve is great to work with. This was the second inspection we had him do for us. He does a very thorough job checking the house top to bottom. Takes pictures of all concerning items and lists everything in his final report which he had to us both times by the end of the day on the day of the inspection. He is very friendly and great to work with. Not only does he do the inspection, he will also give you lots of tips as a home owner on different items. Great guy and would definitely hire again in the future.

Wonderful experience!!! We discovered high radon levels early in the year and contacted them. Mike and Rachel came out and looked at our situation and discussed options for mitigation. They even suggested that we take some reading levels in the summertime if we liked, before having them out to do the mitigation. The levels stayed high so we had them out in December to do the work. The team arrived on time, did their work and cleaned up. All the work looks professionally done and neat and orderly. The first attempt did not reduce the radon due to some issues with our basement floor. They came out again and installed a larger motor. That still did not reduce it enough, so they came back again to install an additional pipe into the basement floor and connect it to the previously installed pipe. Our radon level is now significantly reduced to proper levels. At all times, they were polite, professional, and shared a wealth of knowledge about radon. At each step of the process, their only concern was reducing the radon. The cost did not change from the original price, even with the additional work necessary. I wish all companies shared the same values and customer service ethics. I am a totally satisfied customer and wish I could hire them to do other work as well. :)

I purchased a new condo and radon tested high during inspection. St. Louis Radon was contacted, arrangements were made and the service was performed. It was complicated due to the floor plan of the condo. There are several bends in the pvc but they did a nice job keeping it from interfering with any important aspect of the home. I am very pleased with the service. The technicians were very knowledgable and friendly. They arrive right on time and finished when they said they would. Very pleased and have already referred others.

From the first call to a follow up email after the completion of job , Tom was always in touch.
I was faced with a very stringent HomeOwners association with regard to placement of the exterior vent ( they didn't want it visible from the street). I was also on a tight schedule for closing on  my condo and I did not want issues that would compromise  the sale. Tom  submitted  a drawing for the Home Owners Assn that expedited approval.

The  installers represent what I would hope to see in all installation crews - they introduce themselves, they explain every detail before during and after the installation. They used drop cloths everywhere and vented the dust from the 4" hole in the basement floor to exterior. The property had been in perfect condition for closing before the job and I had NO clean up to do after completion.

The system has an excellent warranty and the contract price included a thorough monitoring report after the job was completed
I recommended St Louis Radon to both  my real estate  agent and the condo association.

I contacted 3 different companies to get bids for a mitigation system and Tom came across as the most professional so we decided to go with his company.  When we moved to our current house last May the Radon level was just under 4, which was a concern to us since the EPA guidelines recommend that Radon be no higher than 4 and we have 3 young children.  The house we moved from had a Radon level below 1 so this was all something new to us considering a level of 1 was never a concern to us.  We decided to wait on investigating mitigation until the winter when supposedly the levels are at their highest.  So we bought a kit and rechecked the level in December and it came back above 6.

Tom was very thorough at answering all of our questions and gave us a lot of good information.  He gave us 2 options of having the system come up from the basement through the garage and then through the attic above the garage as an exit point, or just taking the system straight out behind our garage and up the side of the house.  Most people like having the system hidden so would choose going through the garage but since the exit point would be tucked behind our garage in our case, plus we have white siding (the color of the PVC pipe),  we decided to go the easy route just straight out and up the back side of the house --  that way we would avoid having to make a hole into the garage, a hole in the ceiling of our garage, and then the exit hole for the PVC pipe through the roof of the garage.

Overall the job went great.  Tom personally came out to oversee the beginning of the project.  The crew was friendly and neat and there was no mess.  They left a Radon testing machine that supposedly takes multiple readings over the course of 3 days or so.  Our level came back at an average of 1.3 so we were very happy to see that.  We do not have a walk-out and felt that the air quality in the basement of our 17 year old home was a little stuffy and now, after the mitigation fan has been carrying all the stagnant air out from under the house and the sump pit has been sealed, both my husband and I feel we can tell a difference in the air in the basement.  We also feel better about letting the kids play in the basement knowing the radon is down to a safer level.

It went great. When I found out that my house had an elevated radon level I researched the subject thoroughly before choosing a company to perform the work. Mike Goodson and Aegis are certified for radon testing and mitigation by Missouri and the National Environmental Health Association. They had to route the system from under the the basement floor, up through the garage floor, into an upstairs bedroom closet, into the attic and out the roof, going through concrete, drywall, carpet and roof shingles. I was very apprehensive about this, but they did a beautiful, professional job. Cleaned up and put everything back in place. A radon test performed after completion indicates the level to be well below the recommended level by the EPA. You couldn't do better than Mike and Aegis if you have to have this done.
