"originally I had surgery on my right foot then, in January I fractured my fourth toe and as it was healing I fractured another toe. At this time Dr. " decided to do several lab test and found the my Vitamin D levels were insufficient. Dr. has been wonderful and has shown great concern and care to make sure my foot heals completely.

"I have been a patient of Dr 's since 2010 when I broke my ankle. He specializes in ankles and feet. Because of the truly great job he" did I have gone back to him twice for other concerns. He remove a bone spur on a foot, and treated me when I strained a knee. He answered all my questions and whenever I need a referral in a specialty I'm not familiar with, I call him to see who he would go to if he were in my shoes. I couldn't ask for more. When I broke my ankle he completely explained what was wrong, what he planned to do to correct the condition, performed the surgery which went flawlessly, and conducted great followup, personally checking to see how I was doing. When he didn't like something he saw on my X-rays, he referred me out to specialists in that area. He truly goes the extra mile for patients. With him I am not an ankle, or a condition, I am a person, a human being. I went back to see him to have a painful bone spur removed. By this time he had moved over to the Allegheny Health Care Network and I saw him at West Hospital. Again, the care was top notch in every respect. When I strained my knee a couple of weeks ago, I called Dr to get a referral to a knee specialist. He offered to take a look at my knee and tell me what he thought. He squeezed me in THAT DAY when I could get there -- I had figured I'd have to wait at least a few days to get an appointment with somebody. He took X-rays, examined my knee, treated it, and referred me to PT. I felt much better afterward. He told me what additional steps he would take if the PT did not correct my condition, but if the things he could do didn't prove effective, he would have to refer me to a knee specialist for more extensive treatment. I recommend him without hesitation.

Sounds like you should be pursuing a disability claim.  Also, you could speak to your previous doctor frankly about your concerns.
Have they made orthotics for your shoes that distribute your weight better?

Whoops - I just realized that you may have been looking for Angie's List information on providers outside your home market. To see information on providers that aren't in your home Angie's List chapter, you can elect to pay a small addditional fee (generally about $15 to $20) to add another city's Angie's List to your existing memember.

It looks like when you signed up online on 8/5/2014, that you accidentally joined our greater Portland chapter instead of our Salem/Corvallis chapter that your zip code falls under. I have transferred your subscription to that chapter, so you will now have access to the correct area.

I hope this information helps! Please let me know if I can assist further. You can respond to this thread or submit a new Answers post. You can also reach us at 1-866-783-2980. We're open weekdays from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET.

Foot Surgery reviews in Chesterfield

Each time, Dr. has been on-time, has spoken directly to my mother, and taken the time to be sure that both my mother & I understand the diagnoses and potential treatment options. Since my mother has dementia, it is difficult to get her to rate pain and otherwise respond helpfully, but Dr. knows how ...More to ask questions in a way that Mom responds. I think that she is my all-time favorite doctor. I love that she makes sure that Mom understands what is going on - many doctors talk to me instead of Mom.

Dr. diagnosed the problem as blocked sweat glands, and he removed some of the little nodules painlessly. He showed one to me and it had a hard core that caused the pain when pressure was on the foot. He mentioned that some people rub vitamin E on the area for treatment and prevention. By the time I got home, the foot was ...More not aching any more and has continued pain free. I am using the vitamin E to keep these little growths from coming back. So far so good. Dr. is always kind and gentle in his work. His staff is excellent too.
- Constance S.

Rude doctor. Xray tech ran over the same foot my broken leg was on with a wheel chair. Less than two minutes with the doctor. Desk staff was efficient but couldn't even produce a smile. Never seen such a group of unhappy people before. And they charged my insurance plenty!

- jeff C.

Dr. examined my foot and looked at the x-rays taken from the previous doctor. He said that I didn't have a stress fracture, which came as a shock, since I just spent 7 weeks thinking that I did. Dr. said I have high arches and I'm putting to much pressure on that part of my foot. Then, he says ...More they can either break my foot and put it back together, or I can wear shoe inserts and pads to try to change the way I walk. Lovely.
So then he says they have some little gel pads that I can have for free, and he prescribed me ArchRival shoe inserts. He said they are the only orthotics that insurance covers. He said they are normally $80, but insurance will cover them. He was confident about this. Then his nurse was supposed to fit me for them. But instead she just asked what shoe size I wear, left, and then came back and handed the inserts to me. They make me sign a paper saying that they have a 7 day return policy with these and that I was fitted properly for them. I leave thinking all is well.
Once I get home and try them on, I realize they are the wrong size. Frustrating. So I call and have to make another trip downtown to exchange these for the proper size. The nurse said I don't need an appointment, that she will see me when I arrive. I arrive and they are slammed. Seriously, a long line for a doctor's office and the waiting room is full. I wait in line and finally get to explain to the front desk girl that Dr. 's nurse said I didn't need an appointment and that I'm just exchanging sizes. After a little while, she comes to get me. She did apologize and seemed like a nice girl, but she wasted a bunch of my time by not fitting me in them in the first place.
Now, I have the right size, but they hurt my feet. I tried to give them a shot on a couple different occasions thinking that the longer I wait, the more my foot has to heal and then they would feel better. It's been a month and I still can't walk in them. Obviously I was not concerned with the cost because Dr. assured me that insurance would cover them.
So now I receive a bill in the mail for $80. Insurance denied it. I called Orthocarolina to try to return them, and they say I signed a piece of paper for the 7 day return policy and there is nothing they can do. On the inside of the package there is another number for a 60 day return policy from the manufacturer. I called them and since I didn't buy from them directly, I can't return through them. They say that the doctor should honor their 60 day return policy. But they don't. I told them about the 7 day paper I had to sign. So I got screwed. Dr. should not lie about insurance covering something that it does not always cover.

Superb doctor. Very kind and caring. Staff is very reliable and friendly . Would highly and enthusiastically recommend him to anyone. Goes above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful and to provide care
Seen him for 10 years and he does a great job.
- Michael Y.

Saw Dr. briefly. He quickly diagnosed the ankle swelling as a circulatory problem and gave me a referral to specialists to address the problem. Also quickly recommended heel cups/new orthotics for the heel pain (now gone). The practice has an in-house staff person responsible for custom orthotics and I've been very pleased ...More with them; much better than those I'd obtained from a podiatrist a few years ago. Very satisfied with the results of my visits.
- Cynthia L.

He was very helpful explaining what could cause it and appropriate remedy . he started with the easiest procedure to take care of the problem and so far so good as of 5/20/15. I would return to him in a heartbeat if I have any further foot problems.
- michael P.

It really is an amazing experience. I could write an entire review on their food service alone. Their hospital facility, Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (MOSH), is like a 5-Star hotel, and the service and care match that 5-Star expectation. I've never had a hospital experience like that before. Guehlstorf is the foot ...More and ankle surgeon I used. He's extremely professional and extremely personable, connecting with his patients extremely well. I've been very pleased with him.
