    ER was great

Dr. Janet Matuszek is wonderful! Very down to earth, listens and takes her time. She also delivered my daughters second child, fixed the botched up C-section scar from the previous doctor (different hospital). The staff at at St. Lukes  was absolutely incredible.

Dr. Amy Ney is very very good as well. She diagnosed shingles on my leg and in my eye.

St. Lukes is my favorite hospital in St. Louis!!!

first class patient care and service. However the cafeteria needs a lot of work. food is less than appetizing, exorbitant pricing and availability. closed for much of the evening - nothing available for families who are waiting for surgical or OB patients during the night hours. Vending machine choices are pathetic. nothing but junk food.

It was fine, he's great. He is everything we need in a primary care physician. Everything is very well organized, it's a big practice but the staff all know what they are doing and what they are suppose to be doing. They are very quick once you get in there... the hardest thing is reaching them on the phone, you get put on hold for a long time. He's very knowledgably and a good listener.

Visit was fine. She took time, didn't have many answers or suggestions however. Said she would call with blood test results, next steps and a referral and I never received a call. When I followed up 4 days later, her staff acted as if they didn't know why I was calling. When they finally called back they only gave me blood test results, again no next steps or referral. Said they would check with her and call back. 4 days later and have never received a call. Will not return, would not recommend.

Dr, Wiedner and his assistance are so friendly.  Dr. Wiedner is alway focused on being proactive about my health to prevent problems in the future. He is easy to talk to about any kind of issues I am having.

Dr. Sarah Renfert was friendly and very professional. It seemed like she already treated thousands of cases like mine. She herself did some tests after taking some samples in my throat and prescribed me a medicine for 5 days and the my throat felt better the second day of the medication but any how I completed the complete dosage as per her directions and since then I have never coughed that severely again till date. Thank you Dr. Renfert !!

Ultimately, my surgeon and I determined that surgery would be my best option (although a scary one), and the hospital experience began. The hospital staff, from the pretest phase to final check out, was outstanding: Courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and caring. Even the business office was efficient and cooperative. My only concern was a nursing student who had a problem with my IV, but that was quickly resolved. I am truly thankful that my surgeon was affiliated with St. Luke's hospital.

Office personnel were very professional. I had the sense that they all knew their jobs and the best way to do them. People were friendly and answered my questions. I was taken a few minutes early, and the doctor came in as soon as we were ready for him. It's a busy office, with several doctors and an NP on staff. The waiting room is plain but clean and organized. My exam room had what it needed, and the temperature was comfortable. Records are electronic and appear to be well organized. When I made a follow-up call Tina was able to bring up my record within seconds. The practice seems to be very current with electronic records retention policies.
Since my first visit I have had a few telephone conversations with office staff to follow up, and they are pleasant and knowledgeable.

Dr. Birenbaum is a competent general physician with a quiet but friendly demeanor.  I can usually get an appointment for an exam within a couple weeks at a time that meets my availability and when a more urgent issue arises I've been able to get in to see him the same or next day.  Appointments are somewhat quick, but I never feel rushed and am given time to explain or describe any issues I'm having and do feel listened to.  A few times I have waited more than 15-30 minutes in the waiting room past my appointment time, but hard to assign blame if there were some urgent last minute patients that showed up or just general delays.

They are respectful and technically they are extremely competent. We moved here from Boston and we are used to medical power house hospitals but I would compare St. Luke's Hospital to those in Boston. I would highly recommend their care.
