He started by replacing the screen door. He hung it out of square but he denied there was a problem and made no effort to fix it. I insisted and finally the door was re-hung by one of his crew. He power-washed and sealed the deck. The product he used has sand in it, which I didn't know and it feels gritty when I'm barefoot. Densing told me to rent a small dumpster from a particular company, which I did. There was a lot of junk and trash in the basement, accumulated over 30 years, and he worked hard to haul everything up and out to the dumpster. My husband's workshop was of particular concern to me; I asked him to set aside anything that looked to be in usable/good condition so I could look at it. Unfortunately, he didn't do that, but just put it all in the dumpster, so I have no idea what was thrown out. I also needed to rent a second dumpster, which may not have been necessary if he'd done a better job estimating what he'd need. There were unanticipated problems in the basement, which were necessary but costly repairs. Densing required payment in advance for any supplies, plus 60% of the total when he started. There was mold in the drywall and in the insulation behind it. He said he would treat that, put up a vapor barrier, new insulation and new drywall. All of that was taken care of - it looks good and there is no odor. We also found quite a few cracks in the foundation walls, which he said he could repair with an epoxy-resin sealer. I did get another opinion and estimate and decided to have K4 do the work. Densing said he would give me a receipt and documentation that would satisfy any prospective buyer, if I decide to sell the house. I'd also like to mention that Densing and his workers used my refrigerator to store their soft drinks and went into my kitchen cabinets for glasses. Without asking or obtaining my permission. Densing suggested I replace the 2 basement windows and asked for the money to order them, nearly $500. I've heard a couple of different stories about why he hasn't gotten or installed the windows, but he did not reply when I asked for a refund. Work was also left undone after installation of a drain under a flagstone and gravel walkway in the backyard. The work was sloppy; a lot of the gravel disappeared and it's now too low (didn't replace enough soil) and the flagstones are so poorly set that some rock and none are the correct distance apart for anyone's stride. The chimney needed some tuckpointing Densing said, but the result is a sloppy job. No one has returned to fix anything, in spite of promises. I'm especially concerned because I have not received ANY paper work from K-4. I do not have contracts or receipts for the work done. He did not provide the documentation for the repair of the foundation cracks, as promised. He will not respond to phone calls or texts and has apparently instructed his crew to do the same. They've moved on to a bigger project and I don't expect to see or hear from them again. Although the workmanship, for the most part, was of good quality (with some re-do's), Densing's manipulative manner and boastful attitude were problems. He spoke derisively about everyone he has worked for, especially the owner of the paint company for whom he was working when he started his off-the-books work for me. I should have been more careful, but all of his talk put me off-guard, as he intended, and I foolishly thought he was trustworthy. He requested that I make all checks payable to his girlfriend, not to him or to the company. Although I know it's a huge red flag that something isn't legitimate about him or the company, I paid his girlfriend. I would not recommend K-4 Konstruction or Mark Densing to anyone.

It went very well. Scott from the Masonry dept of Bone Dry arrived on the day as promised. After looking at the chimney he took pictures of the problem areas so that we were aware of what the actual problem looked like. He then went to work. After completion he showed us pictures of the repaired area and explained everything that was done. Scott was very professional and able to answer our questions. He installed new mortar in affected areas and sealed it. He also sealed cracks in the chimney crown. Bone Dry is coming again for another job...an acid wash treatment and a water repellent on chimney chases. They did our roof several years ago and always do an excellent job getting

Russ came out early after calling to see if that was ok. Since the work is done inside he covered my furniture and used a vacuum so I didn't have any mess. He reviewed my whole chimney inside and out plus the firebox. He took pictures, showed me where I had problems, explained how they could be fixed and later in the day e-mailed me estimates for the work that needed to be done.

Excellent job. Very thorough and knowledgeable. I will be calling them again! Most thorough job I've ever had getting my chimney cleaned. They really took their time to ensure the job was done right. They did a great job with my dryer vent as well.

There was no charge. He was prompt. He was friendly. Everything so far has been an "A".On the price, it was what I expected. He was very responsive. He was there when I needed him. He told me it was going to be a while because he was swamped. He did tell me that he wasn't going to be able to get to the work for a couple of months. So, I understood that and I wasn't in a hurry. So, it do not matter to me. I would say he was professional. It was him and one of the people that works for him. They were probably out there for probably 20-25minutes. They did let me know everything.

I called in four firms to look at the scope of the job needed to be performed and discuss what work they thought should be done and get quotes. After reviewing all proposals and comments on Angie's list of the contractors I chose Massey Tuckpointing. They weren't the cheapest nor most expensive but seemed to be the best choice for my needs. The job took seven days with the weather being extremely hot so they started early and left mid afternoon on most days. All workers were most professional and courteous. They seemed to really care about the quality of the work they performed and always gave of their time to answer questions. They put up scaffolding thirty feet in the air so naturally a lot of material feel to the ground. They had put down ground covering to catch most of the debris but a lot was still scattered around. They made a big effort of cleaning up every night before leaving and hosing down splashes on the walls. Very easy to work with them.

Tim came out over the winter and took a part from the fireplace with him and said he would give us a call when the new part came in. He never called us back, we finally got back in touch with him in MAY and he said the part was on backorder bc it was now SUMMER. He agreed to come out on May 25th, but then cancelled the day of saying he still didn't have the part. We tracked him down again in JULY. The day he was supposed to come he said he was going to be 2hrs late bc he had to stop to pick up the part. An hour after he was supposed to come to the house he text us and said he would not be performing the service for us and to call someone else. Completely unreliable, took at part from our fireplace rending it completely useless and won't return any text or calls.

Excellent. The company promptly called me back and scheduled the work. The workers were very efficient and did an excellent job. I'd definitely give them a thumbs up in every way. One word to folks doing this...it generates a ton of dust, so you might want to warn your neighbors and remove any items nearby (they DO clean up afterwards, but still it's a lot of dust!)

All appointments kept on time. Called always to let us know they are coming. Hands-on involvement by General Manager-Owner who reviewed accuracy of prelim estimates. All work done as agreed. All can lights in attic covered before pouring attic insulation. Production Manager was hands-on. Quality control done after all jobs done.

This is my fianc and my second time using Dan Weber for projects at our house. A year and half ago or so, we contracted him to update 2 bathrooms. In our new home, we utilized Dan to renovate the entire first floor of our house. The scope of this project was a new kitchen (cabinets, countertop, backsplash), new flooring, paint, and a half bathroom. In short, we are completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him to friends and family. Dan, personally, is a completely honest and upfront person who approaches potential jobs without preconceived notions. We had several contractors bid the current job. Dan was the only one who came into our home, listened specifically to the scope of the project, and returned a bid promptly that covered those points. When he made suggestions for additional work, they were exactly that, suggestions. He pointed out a number of items where doing it now would be orders of magnitude cheaper than doing it later. For example, some things had to be removed to put in the floor so put something new in is the same price in terms of labor as putting the old one back. We found these insights to be very helpful and we took advantage of a number of them. We never felt pressured to do more. Dans pricing scheme is simple to follow and easy to assess the value of. His bid included labor and generic materials. These are things you might expect like nails, screws, etc but also included paint, can lights and baseboards. You then provide the more customizable parts like cabinets, flooring, and light fixtures. However, Dan passes along transparently his contractor pricing on these if you purchase from select vendors. The benefit of this is you understand exactly where the cost is and in general can save a great deal on some of these larger ticket items. The one downside of this approach is that it requires a little more coordinating on your end but in our assessment the little extra work was more than made up for in the savings. He and his workers were prompt, professional, and did good work. When mistakes were made (inevitable in a large project) they were corrected without question or issue. At the end of each day, the would tidy up and leave the place as clean as a work zone could reasonably expected to be. Dan communicates well. Each night I would get a text message with the time they would be arriving the next day (we lived in our house during the renovation) and what to expect. When plans had to change he would let me know. Dan went out of his way to make things easier when possible. He allowed us to dump our moving trash into his dump trailer without added cost. He hauled away some heavy stuff we needed to clear and moved some appliances without added cost. The finished product is beautiful. My fianc and I are completely satisfied and so happy with out investment. In a few years we will likely remodel our master bathroom; Dan will be our first call. That is the strongest endorsement in my opinion.
