Process is very straight forward and it's very exciting waiting for the designs to come in.  We did not end up using any of the designs because we moved from that house, but I could have used elements from all of the designs to make my own.  I loved the process!

One reason I joined Angie's List was to test that guy and they never did it. Nobody should hire this guy. I would never use them again. I'm the third person that I know of, other contractors told me about it that he walked out on leaving the project unfinished. It's a habit, no one can change it except to not use him. He also caused me some problems telling me how nasty I was when he was at their shop. I found that going around their shop later. It was awful.

!00% rotten.  The service was simple but important to a dying man who would have benefited in terms of quality of life.  After 20 months, Goldsmith claimed that the 60% of the job done was all that he was contracted for (untrue), though full payment had been made.  Let me advise you regarding Michael Goldsmith whose home is in Frederick County, Maryland:
1-- write an AIRTIGHT contract that the courts will recognize.
2-- be sure to nail down the price REAL good.
3--REALLY nail down the completion date estimate
4--MAKE SURE you spell out his legal responsibilities should you have to go to court ; you don't want the possibility of        subcontractors being blamed (wherein you will have a mini-Gulf oil spill-type blame game to deal with)
5-- SPELL OUT in no uncertain terms, leaving no legal loopholes, just what work HE is to do

We started out with a remodel, and then decided to do an addition. He does good work but is very opiated. I think the price was fair. We had to stand firm in what we wanted. We like the overall result, however it took a while to get there. I would maybe use him again in the future.

Jordan was responsive (other architects contacted through Angie's list did not respond) and prompt. He worked with us to develop plans - making suggestions that went beyond our initial thoughts of basic kitchen rehab. Jordan respected our budget and modified his plans accordingly. He put us in touch with contractors and explained how the process (permits, etc.) works. The rehab is underway - so far, so good. Jordan is easy to work with, and honest. We hired an architect in order to get ideas about what could be done, and to not be locked into what a contractor has done in the past. I think it was money well spent. We'll see how it turns out.

Skimped on some items and built a poor water feature. Design was mediocre. Expected more for the price tag.
