So This is my second trip down to Yeagers Harley-Davidson this week and will be going back again. I have been shopping around for a motorcycle and if you've never done this you want to find the right dealer to buy from and not just the best price. I previously bought a bike from a different dealer for a great price, but then added over $2k in accessories before moving out of state. The sales side was okay, but the maintenance work was poor and several things were not done right. After my move, I had no way to get those things corrected other than to pay another dealer to fix it. Unfortunately, value on a used bike can be really tough to nail down. Figure out what you want, look up some blue book values and comparable bikes, and then do your best to determine how much value to place on mileage and accessories. Here is my experience so far: After talking to several (4-6) dealerships and a few private sellers, I walked into Yeager HD with the purpose of looking at a used Road King they had posted online. The weather has not been good to test ride, but I worked with Nathan and the Sales Manager yesterday and today and have had a great experience so far. Note that I have not bought yet...but that is probably coming in the next few days. The thing I like most about Yeager HD is that they are straight forward with you and do not try to play salesman games or push you into something for the purpose of making a quota. Yeager HD has their bikes competitively priced to start, and understandably do not have a ton of room to negotiate, but they will tell you right away where they are at on the bike. Instead of pushing me to buy any bike they can get me on, they actually asked me to come back and ride more bikes to make sure I choose the right bike for me and not just the right price or coolest curb appeal. I told them what budget I was working with and where I wanted my payments and they took me to see the bikes that were close enough to consider. That is definitely not the case at all dealers. They also pointed out that they were showing me the final price and not the price before you see the sales mgr who tacks on $600-$1500 to do the paperwork. Obviously, I'm trusting that they would not have divulged that info if it were not the case. Since the Road King I'm looking at is a bit over where I wanted to be, the sales manager has already alluded to the fact that he will work with me to get me a good deal that I'm happy with after I ride away. One last note to consider...I noticed that the majority of the bikes they showed me were those of friends, family, and repeat customers. When they can tell you who bought it new, when they traded and for what, it tells me they have people coming back. When they can do that on several bikes, even 2 and 3 owners deep, I'm rather impressed and have confidence that the bikes and customers have been well cared for. And the Sales Mgr also mentioned that some of their mechanics have been working there for several decades and that his son works there now as well - just a testament to how they treat people. As for my grading above, the price is really an A- or B+, you might find a cheaper sticker, but once you add the fees they want to throw in, I think Yeager is probably better than 85% of the competition. Responsiveness, I gave a B only because it took most of the day before I got a response to my email inquiry. Otherwise, they have been attentive and have exhausted several hours with me already to look at options and answer questions. Hopefully this helps...just based on my limited experience so far, I would definitely recommend them. Update: I got more bike than I was hoping for and it was literally like-new for way less than I could find anywhere else and I looked at 100's if not thousands of bikes over the past few months. Very happy with the deal I got and the service.

Outstanding bike shop and extremely accommodating!  Steve and his team can work on anything that two/three wheels and an engine.  I heard through a relative in the area to take my bike there for service and glad I did.  Steve's wife Debbie who works at the front desk is very helpful and polite.  I appreciate also that they can Dyno tune motorcycles as well.  I've had them work on my '09 Ultra, and '05 V-Rod with excellent results!  My 10k V-Rod service with synthetic only cost $230 which would normally be around $650 at a Harley Dealership and they follow the same checklist!  Definitely a 5 star shop in my opinion, highly recommend to others and I will return!

They repaired the bike,it's back in wonderful working order. They even repaired items that where not part of the accident. I was very pleased when the job was complete. Chopper shop doesn't have a paint booth,if you need something painted, you must get it done at other shop. I recommend Ed Wilson, did a front fender for me,awesum job, the chopper shop was pleased with it. Anyway, would like to say that Chopper shop goes above and beyound to make sure your bike gets the right treatment. I ride a electric glide classic, chuck and crew had my machine running smooth. If you own a Harley Davidison, the Chopper shop is where to go.

    J & W CYCLES
I was first turned on to Jand W by my neighbor who is from the Saint Clair area and has been riding motorcycles for probably 30 years. He told me they were a really good company and would treat me right. Being a new bike rider I was a bit nervous -- you know -- being a guy and not knowing anything about bikes. Well...not a probablem, I went in the store and just started talking to people...they actually came up to me (I know...they're salesman and that's their job). Everyone in that place is VERY friendly and I always get the feeling they are willing to bend over backwards to help me out...expecially a guy named Mark who works in the parts department...GREAT guy. Okay...I've bought my bike so they know they're not going to get a sale out of me again for a while...doesn't matter...they still come up and talk to me just like I was their next door neighbor. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ok...I went in not knowing much about bikes. They could have tried to sell me an overly expensive bike...say one for $15,000 and one that was too big for someone starting out. They didn't do that...they were looking out for me. They recommended a bike in the $5K range that was a 650. I love this bike...VERY FUN to ride! So...not only were they looking out for my pocket book...they were looking out for my safety as well. You know it's a well respected place when you go in there and guys who've been riding for 40 years just looking around shooting the breeze. I've bought a helmet from them...which the let me try on and walk around make sure it fit right. I've also bought a windshield from them. Again they were awesome...set there at the front desk...went through all the books looking for the right windshild. They really took their time with me...nothing crazy...just good customer service. They also provided the first service for my bike. It was a little pricey but servicing for motorcycles isn't like getting your oil changed on your car...they look at a lot more stuff. So...the servicing was around $140. Compare that to a Harley...their servicing is around $500 (from my understanding). Anyway, I could really tell they did stuff to the simply felt tighter. The only complaint I have concerning their service is...Iand quot;m not sure they changed the oil during the first servicing. Just looked at it the other day and it was low and pretty black. However, I can't really ding them on that because I'm not sure that's really part of the first servicing. After all, the bike only had 1,000 miles on it at that time. They may have looked at was okay then and moved on. So...I would strongly recommend Jand W Cycles for all your bike needs. Really nice people and great service.

Ford's Custom Bikes & Auto Service
For years I have heard great things about Fords so today I decided to stop by and see what all of the talk was about.  I was greeted by Melissa, one of the warmest people I have met in a long time.  I was supprised by the size of their facility.  They had a great selections of just about anything related to motorcyle riding.  I have wanted a new helmet for some time and Melissa explained all of the features and had me try on the one that I was interested in.  I was happily surprised at how reasonable their prices were, so I decided to look at some new riding gloves.  I talked with Joe and he said to make my self at home and to feel free to walk behind the counters if there was anything I wanted to see closer.  They are a great people, who have a great store full of great name brand products at very reasonable prices.  I would recommend them to any of my friends in a heartbeat!

I dropped off the block and it took him 3weeks to complete. He installed cam bearings and bored my block the bearings were not even lined up with the oil holes and the bearing surfaces were gouged and scratched badly not useable, I was also charged for "cleaning of the block" it wasn't cleaned at all still had the boring oil and paint all over it, and to top it off he broke a bolt off in my fuel pump plate and didn't even tell me, DO NOT USE THIS GUY FOR ANYTHING. HE SUCKS.

    Rawhide Harley-Davidson
This, however, was the last straw.  After my purchase, I received a credit card from Harley Davidson which I did not apply for.  Turns out that you have to read ALL of the fine print on every sheet you sign.  I know that people are supposed to do that, and ultimately I am responsible for what I sign, but jeesh!  I went in to buy a motorcycle not to open a credit account! I took my motorcycle for its first service at another Harley dealer who told me they couldn't honor my VIP service plan.  They only offer a Harley Davidson nation-wide service plan.  (This is what I want!)  I called Rawhide and spoke to my saleswomen, Susie.  She said she would speak to the general sales manager and get back to me.  After 3 weeks of trying to follow up with Susie and her GSM, I finally reached Jerry.  Turns out he is the GSM, but Susie hadn't spoken to him about this situation.  I told him the situation, that there is a history of misrepresentation- with the opening of unauthorized credit accounts, and Susie trying to push me away-, and that I would like a refund of my money.  Jerry told me directly that he didn't believe me and that he'd have to speak with Susie and the dealership owner. The solution Jerry offered was to charge me a cancellation fee and prorate the service plan for a total of almost $400.  I have since seen other very bad reviews of this dealership on the Kansas Better Business Bureau website, at the Kansas Consumer Protection Agency, and at other review sites online. Buyer beware at this dealer!  It really tarnishes the Harley brand.
