    This happened in the middle of the recent hot spell and my house was up in the mid 90s even with the curtains drawn all day. Greg (the repairman) went the extra mile to find the particular piece I needed - coming back to my home 4 different times that day waiting for my unit to thaw out before it could be repaired. It would have probably been a lot easier for them to just say "we'll come back tomorrow" but, knowing I had two small children in the house they did everything possible to make sure we were up and running as soon as possible. I chose Tom's AC based upon their ratings on Angie's List and their solid reviews. The bill was even less than estimated. The entire cost of the repair was under $350.00...actually less than the ball park figure they had given me. The most impressive part about Tom's A/C is that during our present heat wave, they could have probably raise their prices and no one would complain. When you have absolutely no idea about heating and a/c systems, you are totally at the mercy of the company you have doing the work. I can't begin to express how grateful I am to Tom's A/C !!!

    When I originally called, there was about a week and a half wait because of the heat wave. (They try to deal with emergencies first...that's understandable). The office called me two days before my scheduled appointment to see if my situation was such that I could consider possibly moving my appointment back another day. I was okay with that but not sure that my wife and kids were. When they found out that I had young children in the house, they actually moved me to the top of the list and came out that same afternoon. When they showed up, the issue with my system would require a part which they did not have in stock but they would have it the next day. That's where most companies would have left it but not this one. The repairman started calling around and was able to actually locate what I needed locally. He left, returned with the part in about an hour or two and immediately had me up and running again...much to my family's relief. The repairman also mentioned a service that Tom's offers which is a kind of membership that entitles you to certain things, one of which is a quarterly checkup. The cost was very reasonable (I can't remember the exact amount) but also included other perks. Because of the service that I had already been afforded, I readily agreed and signed up for the membership as well. Then I forgot about it. Some 3 months later I received a call from their office wanting to make an appointment to come out for my first checkup. They arrived as scheduled, spent about 45 minutes checking everything over and, took the time to discuss with me some things that I could do to make sure that I kept my heating and cooling costs where I want them. No charge for these checkups. No nothing. Just one of the benefits of my membership. I had the same repairman on both occasions. I can't recall his name but I know that he wasn't the owner - Tom. (Okay, I'm not sure if there really is a Tom) but nonetheless, this repairman was as good a representative for that company as any owner might hope for. I'm not sure if these memberships still exist or are even being offered but I can tell you that this is one company that from the office personnel to the repair people are really on top of their game. Because I neglected to write this review as soon as I should have, I don't recall the charges for the work that I had done or the membership but I do know that both were considerable under what I had anticipated. My initial service was late July of 2016 and my checkup was late October 2016.

    Bought complete furnace and ac system 12/13/13. 2nd summer on ac., Scotts said buy from us locally we will provide good service. Our ac stopped, we called Scott's heating and air on 8/31/15, 90 degrees plus. Next 5 day forecast 90+. We are senior citizens, retired on social security. They said they couldn't come for 5 days. We explained having the owner out to sell us the system promising service, we are 3 miles from dealer. Talked to manager and was told the same, unless I wanted to pay $129.00 per 1/2 hr. They would send someone out. We had to ask someone else to come out that evening or we would have had heat exhaustion. Terrible way to treat customer of good faith and terrible way to take advantage of elderly.

    All the details?  Such a long story regarding the 2 units as each one has been replaced, 1 twice, since 2007 because they were bad. The owner highly suggested we go with Amana instead of Lennox because they were really good.  That has NOT been our experience.  NEVER buy an Amana.  Labor costs are very high.  Just the $495 charge for the bad unit again speaks for itself.  They have made a lot of money off us with bad units for labor.  
    *6/6/08 replaced 1 heat pump and 1 TXV valve under warranty (2 units)
    *5/17/10 TXV valve replaced on 1 
    *4/13/12 Blower motor replaced on inside unit
    *5/22/13 both heat pumps had to be replaced - compressor on one had decorated to ground and the rotor locked on the other
    *5/13/15 bad condenser
    I'll leave with one good thought.  Their technicians and Kathy are really, really nice.

    Very good price. Good returns on everything. The quality stood out the most. And the time, they were around all the time. It was good. They put in the return lines up in my attic, which was the only place they could put it and it is very hard to get around there and stuff, and they sent a man out that was very good and he never complained at all, so yea, it worked out great. They never complained about hard to get at, he could fabricate the metal duct work himself. He fabricated to come out and it would fit perfectly the first time.

    Thursday morning my furnace stopped working. I was able to contact Affordable Hand A Thursday morning and they had someone out that afternoon to look at the furnace (worked with our work schedules). The man working on our furnace was able to get the parts and have us with heat the next day. My husband and I will be using this company in the future. Turned a very bad situation into a pleasant outcome.

    He was very polite, on time and highly recommended. Our neighbor was looking for someone due to 100 degree temperature, he came out very timely and now has her business also. He is the type of contractor that takes great pride in his work. When my Mom and Dad called and had him come out and the manufacture sent the wrong piece, he offered to send them to dinner to get them out of the heat.
