    Tandy Allen Photography
Don't be fooled by how nice he is. We hired two photographers so that we could have more pictures from our wedding. The contract said "up to 1000 images" and we received 335 images and many of them were not usable. As an amateur photographer myself, I was disappointed with the quality of the images and the variation we were given. I wasn't even given a single image of me and the groomsmen or of the receiving line. There were major gaps in the events. If I had not been so overloaded that day, I would have noticed we were not getting what we wanted. But that is why you hire a photographer. He didn't pay attention to lighting or framing in many of the images. Since it was a sunny day, most of our images have us squinting and he didn't mention that. He brought no additional lighting equipment, which he said he would have when I spoke to him on the phone. I did not want to give Tandy a negative review because he was such a nice guy, but I emailed twice asking for the images he didn't give us, just so we could look, and he never answered me back. I realized that technically, he fulfilled the contract, so there isn't much I can do, but getting a third of the pictures we were expecting was a huge letdown. I feel like we did not get what was promised us in the number of images or the quality of those we did get. Overall, buyer beware.

    Inspirational Expressions
I found Rebekah Bowman after hiring not just one, but two other photographers who cancelled/could not accommodate for various reasons.  My husband and I sought to hire a professional photographer to take a nice family photo outdoors.  After a very expensive photographer near Rolla could not manage her schedule, we decided a laid back session would be more fun.  We came across Rebekah, who promptly emailed and was willing to bend over backwards to meet us at the perfect time of day, so the lighting would be best.  We hired her services for a one-hour shoot, and we exceeded the time slot because we were all having such a good time.  Rebekah eagerly met us on-location, had multiple locations and poses already in mind.  It was WONDERFUL to have somebody with know-how and personality make the session more fun.  Our photos illustrated natural emotion, captured through her lens.  They weren't just smile and say-cheese type photos.  She made a cloudy sky look like Heaven in the background.  Her creativity flowed and you could tell she is passionate about this work.  She has an eye for the beauty of a hidden bridge in the woods, the silhouette of a staircase, and can turn anything into an incredible piece of art.  She knows how to work with her clients, and her personality is perfect for this type of job, where people skills are a must.   Rebekah owns very professional equipment, she is a true professional photographer.  She could double her prices and it would still be a steal.  Several of her clients felt she was being undercharged, including my husband and I, so we willingly gave her an extra tip.  It was worth it.  Most photographers charge by the shot, but Rebekah includes a cd with tons of quality-edited photos free of charge.  Her rates are possibly even lower than the amateurs in the area... be sure to contact her first.  She will even break down her equipment and travel to you, free of charge.  She was a delight to work with, so I went back for more... I hired Rebekah for a boudoir photo session.  I have seen these sessions go for as much as $700, but for not even a tenth of that price, Rebekah will do your hair, makeup, lighten the mood with a glass of wine and put on music to make you feel like a rockstar diva in a fashion show.  The photos were unbelievable.  She can turn even the most camera shy individual into a model, and capture the essence of the emotion.  No forced smiles or frowns will be seen in her photography.  She is truly a gem, and you will not regret working with Rebekah for all of your family, bridal, maternity, military homecoming, senior photos, graduation, boudoir, any type of photography needs... she is a top-notch photographer.  Invest your memories today.  She was never late, always available, and truly gets to know you so she can create the best legacy for you.

    THE RYE STUDIO
The work was excellent. We are not a photogenic group, but Amy managed to get shots where we all had our eyes open and didn't have weird expressions on our faces. My 8 year old daughter has Down syndrome and Amy was patient with her and worked well with her. We first met with Amy for a consultation and my daughter blew her a kiss when we left. My 11 year old daughter thinks she is too cool for this type of thing, but Amy did a great job with her and got fantastic pictures. The session was very relaxed and informal and the pictures are natural looking. The poses are casual and we don't look like we are posing for pictures. The turnaround time for prints is fast and the work is excellent. The only negative was we ended up spending more money than anticipated because the photos were so good. It was hard to narrow down the shots; as so many were good!

    be YOU tiful photos
I showed up early for my shooting time and got my hair and makeup done by Heather, and then she drove me out to each location and told me exactly what to do so my pictures would turn out how I wanted them. She walked me through the steps of each pose and made me feel completely at ease, even though I hate having my picture taken. She treated me to lunch after the shoot, and then let me look through the photographs before and after she was done editing. Her service was quick and it was excellent quality. She knows what she is doing, and I have even gone back to do a couple impromptu shoots with her. I showed up during my boyfriend's senior shoot to make him more comfortable, and afterward he let me know that she was incredibly fun and she made him feel comfortable and completely himself during the shoot. He also mentioned that he was surprised at how quick the service was, and he was very happy with how all of the photographs turned out. I will definitely only be using Heather in the future for any photography I need done. I have been to other photographers and no one seems to know what they are doing as much as Heather does. She knows what looks good even looking outside the viewfinder. I was more than satisfied with every photograph she took of me and of others that I know, close friends and strangers alike. I have nothing but good things to say about this photographer; she really does know what she wants and what you would want without even knowing you very well first! Thank you, Heather! You totally rock! I hope to work with you again soon!

    FLASH DIGITAL PORTRAITS
Family pictures with 3 kids 3 and under is torture now matter where you go. But Flash Portraits is great. I actually went to the one in Clackamas and I really like them. They are friendly, they don't over schedule so you hardly ever have to wait at all. They will take all the pictures you want, they aren't rushing you and they will even call in people to help distract/entertain the kids so that you get what you want. Then they use cool digital effects and collages to make really unique pictures.

    DWON GUIVENIR PHOTO SAFARI ADVENTURES
He's a great teacher. He's nearby. He's available by email if you have questions later, and he's really trying to promote the photo adventure trips which sound like a fun way to learn a lot about photography. I haven't had the schedule to take one, but someday I will.
