ABirkenmeier & Sons IncI have a 3 seasons porch that was getting mold on the inside. In addition, the base boards were bulging out. I called Al Birkenmeier and Sons to determine what needed to be done and for a quote. Al recommended we demo the porch and rebuild it due to moisture getting in and causing rot. Once the demo began, I realized how correct he was and was surprised to see how rotted the wood was. The project included the demo and rebuild. In addition, we replaced the outside door, outside light, and on my request replaced the ceiling fan and the inside window that looked out onto the porch. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. The rebuild looks so much better than the original porch. I am so pleased with it. I had no idea who to call for this job and am so happy with my decision to contract with Al. I highly recommend him.- Jan T.

They remodeled our sun room, replaced our deck and side porch, put in new shutters and replaced the lighting in our living room. Throughout this project they kept us posted and informed of what was going on. They made great suggestions and work performed was even better than expected. Every person sent out to work on our project was polite, friendly and extremely mindful of cleaning up. Al set's himself apart from the pack with his professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and realistic advice. He gives an appropriate amount of time to discuss the project, listens to what you want, makes recommendations on the project, thoroughly bids the project (inclusive with his subs), and prepares a detailed a bid. Not all contractors will do this for you. Al is also honest and fair. He won't be your cheapest bid, but educate yourself enough to know that a cheap bid may have its problems and/or holes. Al understand the caliber of contractor you are consulting. Al is certainly at the top.- Matthew H.

ABirkenmeier & Sons IncI have hired Al numerous times over the last decade for renovation projects large and small (mostly large). I wanted to clad the interior of my 3-car garage/gym in reclaimed wood to create a studio-like effect. As usual, Al’s meticulous finish skills surpassed my high expectations (including color-coded outlet covers). As usual, he identified a couple improper electrical issues left behind by other contractors. I would hire Al again, in fact I did, as we immediately rolled this project into a 5-bath renovation.- gary t.

We also had wood burning fireplace converted to gas, along with electric and plumbing. Our house is beautiful!!! Jessie Johnson along with his staff Phil and Cole, were super easy to work with, hard-working and very professional. I highly recommend this company. AMansfield Contracting was excellent to work with. Luke was on time to meetings and he or his Lead would keep me informed or changes or delays. The work started when it was scheduled and the major work was completed quickly. Circumstances beyond the contractors control delayed the project a little but i was made aware of the issues right away. The project only had a few unforseen costs but that possibility was raised up front and cost were kept with in budget. Over all it was an excellent job.

ARoy and Sean saved our kitchen. This is a long story, but worth it. We previously had our kitchen partially remodeled by another contractor, which was a complete disaster. The contractor backed out of our project at approximately 60% completion, leaving us with an incomplete and poorly executed remodel. We felt defeated and unmotivated to fix the problem. In December 2018, we met Roy and his son Sean. They were unapologetically transparent with us about the state of our remodel and what must be done to make it right. We reviewed three bids in total- Roy was the highest (by only a little) but we felt that their expertise was the only path to a beautiful finish, We were right. Not only were they both extremely professional, but they were an absolute joy to work with. They were always up front about potential cost increases (such as our tile upgrade), and listened to our vision the whole way through. They also made several professional design recommendations that we integrated into the project. Roy’s team was dedicated to our project from start to finish (they do not job-hop). The job was complex- we were salvaging existing countertops (as we had just had quartz countertops installed during the previous remodel snafu) and it also involved demo-ing most of the kitchen while attempting to save the tops. We were able to save the island, but the sink top had to be replaced due to poor installation by the previous contractor. This project also included two custom-fabricated wood columns and floating wood shelves with integrated lighting. We had custom cabinetry made as well, and crown molding throughout the main floor to integrate into the kitchen. The project could not have gone any smoother. We are thrilled with our kitchen and would recommend Roy and Sean to anyone who wants the job done right. We feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Roy and Sean- their craftsmanship is unparalleled.

AI have used Frank Jackson before, and was once again pleased with the work done. I needed the interior of my condo painted, as I was anxious to place my home on the market. There are many vaulted ceilings and a lot of woodwork. Although my condo is only about 1600 square feet, I thought thought the job seemed very challenging. Frank came by and quoted a price of about $5000.00 ( including paint of course.) As I was in a hurry, he had a crew of 3 workers start the following Monday. They worked 6 days total, and the result was just beautiful. All walls were a light grey with white woodwork. They finished painting July 30, 2018. I was able to put condo on market August 6,2018. It sold August 7 for $7000 over asking price. Maybe I would have had the same result without the outstanding paint job, but I seriously doubt it. The condo I am moving to will need some work. I already know who I will be calling for that work--Jackson Custom Homes.
