Timothy Donley the owner received $9,900.00 and disappeared. His crew worked 3 hours on 3/15 then left never to return They cut off the railings of the deck then disappeared - leaving it unsafe and unusable. I found out his "reviews" on Angie's List were probably "manufactured". You can find out more about him by speaking with his former employer, R&R of Ofallon-I wish I had! I dont know enough words to express my displeasure with this man or his "company"

It was excellent. They did a great job. They were timely. They were very professional. When I failed to pay them on time, they were nice and just kept reminding me. I have nothing but positive things to say. I would absolutely use them again. I was very pleased. Price was really reasonable for what they did. They came 3 days later after the bid.

I thought he was unprofessional. When he came, his work was unprofessional. He said he forgot about me and forgot to present us with a plan. It wasn't worth the money. The plans themselves were very amateurish and were not to scale. I couldn't even read the key. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with him. He was making me doubt Angie's List.

The staff here is very nice.  They seem to do quality work.  There was a  initial misunderstanding on the price, but it has been taken care of and I will continue to use their services in the future.

Our experience with Schwartz Brothers was positive from the very beginning. Although there was a bit of delay in the initial response from the company due to a messaging error, once contact was made Brandon was able to come to our house that same day to see the scope of the work to be done. He provided a detailed estimate and proposal within 48 hours with multiple options for us to choose. Once we decided to contract with Schwartz Brothers, Brandon worked with us on finalizing details and was able to have his crew on site within 2 weeks (other companies that we talked to took that long just to provide an estimate and then said they couldn't get started for nearly 2 months). The crew was right on time. They were very professional and competent in their work. We liked what we saw and immediately added some additional projects to the job -- trimming and cleaning up shrubs, weeds, etc.. around the back of our house and around a storage building. We didn't ask Brandon what the additional work would cost but assumed it would be as reasonable as the initial estimate. Nearly everything was completed within 2 days. The only delay was in planting some flowering plants in the new bed. Brandon said that they did not complete that because he was unable to find the quality of plants he wanted to use at the time and did not want to settle. He promised to find some plants that met his standards and have them planted within a week. Storms in the area prevented him from planting on the day specified, but everything was finished the next day as soon as weather permitted.

One thing that really surprised me in this process was the level of trust that Schwartz Brothers operates with.. Other companies had specified the need for 50% of the estimate up front and the balance on completion. Even though that is a reasonable expectation, Brandon did not even suggest that. As the project neared completion, I asked him 2 or 3 different times if he needed me to pay for the work to date, and he responded that he would not bill until everything was completed to our satisfaction. I received his invoice today, about 1 week after the completion of the project. Even with the additional work that we added the day they began the project, the final bill was almost exactly the total of the original estimate. We had expected the total to be several hundred dollars more than the invoice price.

Schwartz Brothers more than lived up to the high ratings on Angie's List. We have already told Brandon that we want him to do some additional work next Spring.

After telling me in person that they would reschedule to finish the job, never heard from them until someone called to follow up. I had talked to them the day I got home about giving me a bid for some additional work. After a few calls got someone to call me back to schedule 6/25/2014 finishing what they were paid to do. After they no showed and no called again I did it myself. At that time the weeds were pretty high.  I am very disappointed in the way they conduct business.

We didn't give him the opportunity later to break out the cost of the job but I'm sure he would have if we had asked.? We did not contract with Lawn and Landscape Solutions but will keep them in mind for future projects.

When I first called Tom, he returned my phone call immediately. He inspected my property on 4/10. However, I didn't receive the bid until June 9 (after several inquiry emails). With the extensive spring rains, Tom had a backlog of work and he did explain that to me. As a matter of fact, another contractor wouldn't even consider me as a new customer for 8 weeks due to their backlog. Finally in August he was ready to complete my project, however, my travel schedule prevented me from being home. In August, the work was scheduled for 9/16, but it wasn't completed until 9/25 due to an issue with Dig Rite. Now, I know everyone is wondering why I didn't just find another contractor. I didn't look for another contractor because Tom's work quality ratings were very high on Angie's List.
Now that the work has been completed, I am glad that patience was my virtue. Tom's crew arrived promptly, finished the job in a day and a half and it barely looks as though a drainage system was installed. As the owner of a small business, I understand fully what occurs when you are inundated with more work than can be handled effectively. When projects expanded for my business, we hired additional support personnel. My suggestion to future clients is to be patient and my suggestion to Tom is to hire an office manager or administrative assistant. His work is worth the wait and I fully intend to call him, if I decide to install a french drain on the other side of my yard. At the end of the day, I'll always remember price and work quality.

Jerry was great to work with. He was very patient with my questions, and I do ask a lot of them. I received a couple other quotes and Jerry's was the best. He was professional, didn't say bad things about other contractors (many do), and he was the only one that said he could do the work without disrupting my neighbor's yard. After his initial quote I had a few ideas I wanted to run by Jerry and he even came back out to my place to talk about them. He even listed the options in his quote so I could add what I wanted. Because he personally came out and talked with us about the options I knew I would get exactly what I wanted. We did have to wait a month and a half to get on his schedule, but I think that is mostly because we told him we were not in a hurry to have the work done. When I followed up with him to see if he had an idea of when they could start he responded quickly. His crew started on Saturday and finished on Wednesday and IT LOOKS GREAT! I feel like they did a real quality job and am very glad we found him.

    S & J's Landscaping LLC
Started by removing two sections of fencing.  Dug out all loose fill down to solid ground.  Put in a layer of rock and totally power tamped the rock.  Used some type of fabric on top of rock.  Then another layer of rock ancd once again ran power tamping method.  New holes were dug for the fence post replacement.  Another layer of dirt and again compressed. Finally a layer of top soil and sod.  Both sections of fence were re-installed.
Excellant job.  Jerry and his crew worked extemely hard at this as there were numerous issues to work through. Extremely considerate and professional at all times. Would use this company for any future landscaping needs.  Thanks again.
