Dylan and Bill were very responsive at getting a quote on what we needed and got started quickly. They also took care of any changes I wanted made after I saw how some areas looked and I wanted to make some upgrades. The crew worked very **** ** my project.

    Modern Concrete, Inc.
They showed up on time as promised. The two men who did the majority of the job, Miguel and Topo were very professional and extremely hard workers. They did a wonderful job that myself and wife will admire for years to come. They brought the job in on time and on budget. Calib the sales manager was able to meet our expectations 110%.

    Horizontal Earthworks LLC
We had a terrible drainage problem in our backyard with standing water constantly rendering our backyard useless. We couldnt even mow our grass. I contacted Horizontal Earthworks through the Angies List website e-mail and Scott promptly replied and set up an appointment to come up with solutions and give an estimate. The estimate was in writing and was reasonable for the amount of work we needed done. In less than two days time Scott and his team completely transformed our backyard. Using a bobcat, Scott created a swale and berms to better control and direct surface water. Next, they installed a large underground drainage tank on one end of the yard connected to a french drain with three surface water catch basins spaced along the length of our yard. Lastly, new topsoil was applied, the yard was graded smooth, and new sod was installed. It was quite amazing to watch my yard transform from a swamp to a nice green inviting space. Now when it rains we can look down through the small yard grate of a catch basin and see the water flowing nicely underground in the french drain from one end of our yard to the other. No more pooling of water on the surface creating a muddy mess. It seemed to me that the crew at Horizontal Earthworks functioned together as a well-organized team. Everyone on the team was polite, informative and focused on getting the job done right and on schedule. Scott provided excellent communication from start to finish and even contacted me days later after the first time it rained to see if I was pleased with the outcome. I would recommend Horizontal Earthworks to anyone who needs some serious drainage and landscaping work.

    Brunners Quality Decks
Beautiful work.  Love our new deck.  It was a long wait from estimate to the start date but well worth it.    They quickly removed the old deck, repaired the siding where it had been damaged and put up the new deck with a pergola very quickly.   We would absolutely use them again for any deck work.  The price was very reasonable.

    Prestige One Landscaping
The bid process went very smoothly.  Roye showed up  at the appointed time, listened to all my questions and offered alternative solutions.  His prices were comparable to other bids I received.  In the end, I did not have all of the work completed that he bid on, partly due to budget and partly due to time constraints. Roye was able to juggle his schedule and get my work done in time for a graduation party.
The actual job went smoothly as well.  The crew showed up on time and finished in the planned time.  They were professional and courteous.  The quality of the work was excellent and the work site was cleaned up when the job was complete.  They even spread some of the excess mulch over some of my other flower beds.
I would definitely use Prestige One in the future.

After meeting with Ken from KC Lawn and Landscaping and going over all of the things we were wanting them to provide a quote for, Ken assured me that he would be in touch with a quote in a few days.  He then confirmed with me which method would be most convenient to contact me and I indicated either phone or email, which they had both of.  After a couple of weeks I had not received anything or been contacted in any way.  I sent Ken an email to the email address that was on his card to inquire about the progress of the quote.  He wrote an email back saying that he had sent me an email but he sent it to the wrong email address.  He then stated in the email that after review of the photos he had taken and after discussion with the "owner" that they had concerns about doing the work as they felt it would damage the existing coping around our pool and therefore he could not give me a quote.  I had informed Ken that we were changing the existing coping so there should not have been a concern regarding that.  Also there were several things that we wanted to have completed in the renovation such as removal of existing foliage, planting new foliage, moving a retaining wall as well as adding new decking.  It is very difficult for me to believe that concerns about adding decking would cause them to not provide a quote for the other landscaping services requested.  I called and left a voicemail for Ken to contact me to discuss this and have not received a call back.  I find that in today's world where customer service is paramount to companies that they would provide this low level of customer service.  I would not recommend them at this time to anyone based on my experience so far.

Scott, when providing his estimate, assured us he would have the project complete within a week.  For a while, it was touch and go as to whether that goal could be attained when he was called away for an emergency at another site.  However, with a last moment spurt, the goal was accomplished and the finished product is eye-pleasing and looks to be of a quality that it should last many years.

    IQ Home Improvement llc
I'll start by saying, don't be fooled by this company's initial charming sweet talk. The owners wowed my husband and I during the bidding process. They seemed accommodating, knowledgeable and genuinely nice. Even my mom liked them! Apparently that facade is only if you don't question their work, lateness, unresponsiveness, and poor communication because they turn on you the second you raise one question about the quality of their service. I was threatened and belittled by the owner numerous times during the three weeks they were working on our home and for weeks thereafter as their poor quality of work continued to keep me in contact with them.
There is so much that was horrible about this experience that I cannot put it all into this review, but here are a few of our experiences.
The job: This company was contracted to do landscaping work to keep water out of my basement and garage as well as to build a deck and install a door to the deck.
    First the garage...
IQ decided the way to keep water out of my garage was to install a french drain. It is by far the ugliest and worst finished product of the three things they worked on. They used a plastic drain (unlike the metal drain at the top of my driveway) and installed it lopsided. When I asked why they did not put the drain across the entire driveway (bc the water was entering the garage from the corner where the drain did not even extend to) they decided to not make the drain longer, but instead build an ugly concrete mound to try to divert the water. The first time it rained, the garage flooded and had just as much water as it ever had. I asked them to come back to look at it and they did...two weeks later. They refused to correct any of their poor craftsmanship or return our money. They charged us $1300 for this and it didn't fix anything.
    Next the basement landscaping...
Again, we had a water/flooding problem so they were hired to fix the landscaping so that we no longer would get water into our basement. The end result looks good although it hasn't rained hard yet (the rain from two weeks ago that flooded our garage was a light rain) so I don't know if it will work. Throughout the process of working on this portion of the project, they changed what they had bid to do several times. They of course never informed us that they were going to go a different route nor explained why they were changing their minds. (For example, they had initially decided we needed gravel and drain tile around the foundation to carry water away from the house, but all they installed was landscape fabric and dirt and they were billing us for the gravel and drain tile even though they didn't put it in. ) When I asked them why they were not doing what they had told me needed to be done, the owner didn't bother to explain. Instead he sent a nasty text to my husband and ripped out all the work they had done wrong and redid it according to the original plan. The owner then got mad at ME for "complaining" about the situation even though they were the ones that had made the mistake.
    Third, the deck:
Deck looks good however I had to have them come out and replace numerous boards that were already cracked. At first they said they don't warranty wood, but thankfully they still switched them out.
    Fourth, the door:
After the deck was finished, a door had to be cut from my living room to the deck. In doing this, a huge gap was left in my hardwood floor where the wall used to be. Not only did they say it wasn't their job to fix that (so we had to call someone else) they also left the door unfinished (they said not completing the door install is standard- they did not caulk/sand/paint etc.) Since we obviously wanted a nice looking finished product, we offered to pay extra to finish the door, but they refused. So now we have to call a different someone else for that or attempt to do it ourselves. During this process they also created a crack in the wall which they said was not theirs to fix. They said it was due to "settling" even though it showed up the same day the door was installed. To recap, our living room now has an unfinished door, a whole in the hardwood, and a crack in the wall. Nice huh?
    Lastly, the unprofessionalism:
The owner is "so busy" (his own words) that he often forgets to return phone calls or schedule your project. Every time he was supposed to get back to me, I waited several days past the day he was supposed to call then had to call him myself. Each time he first gives excuses, but then is apologetic, however, in future conversations, he will forget that it was his fault and that he admitted to being too busy and instead, blame us (the customer) for his failure to communicate.
Total time I was told this project would take: 3-5 days. Total time it took: 3 weeks....and like I said, the drain doesn't even work and the door isn't even done. (There were days they didn't show up at all to work and didn't even bother to tell me that they weren't coming.)
There are so many other little things too that were simply inconsiderate and unprofessional. Each minor instance by itself would have been no big deal, but when it was one thing after another, we simply couldn't tolerate how disrespectful they were.
For instance, they dumped a bunch of huge rocks and paving stones in my yard and refused to move them. The owner eventually sent someone back to move some of them, however they still left two of the huge paving stones.
The owner cursed at as, called us liars, told me I was stupid several times (when I told him he needed to call when he said he would) and also made comments about other parts of our house falling apart in the future. Luckily I have all his messages in texts and emails so it is easy to share with others the disrespectful, immature and rude things he said throughout the process. When I tried to reach out to the other co-owner in hopes that he might be more reasonable and perhaps more helpful, he didn't return my calls or emails.
Lastly, I just found out from an old friend today that she used to work for IQ. When she found out about all the trouble I had with them she sent me a message that said, "I used to work for IQ. They are horrible and unprofessional. They fired me through a text message and I wasn't the only one to be let go that way. They don't know how to run a business at all!!!"
So both from the inside and the outside, this company is one to stay away from!!
    Good luck in your search,
    Blessings,

    Prestige One Landscaping
I used Roye Dillons company in September, 2011 and did not hesitate to call him for this job.  He has an amazing crew of men who work tirelessly until the job is done.   A paving block patio that was too small and not put in correctly (by another company) was torn out and replaced with a larger patio including a wonderful fire pit.  They put circle paving stones in the patio which gives it charm and character and extended a walkway from the patio to another walkway.  They even returned later to lay sod around the edge of the patio so that we did not have to seed it.  When completed the job was, in my opinion, "perfect" and even better than I had anticipated.  A professional company, with pride in their workmanship is hard to find these days.  I will use them for any future projects that I may have and will be proud to recommend them to my friends and family.  WAY TO GO! Prestige One Landscaping, and Kudos to Roye and his crew for a job well done.
