    Blue Springs Walmart Supercenter
I go to the Wal-Mart in Blue Springs early in the morning, (best time to beat the crowds), and I wanted to be sure to thank the door greeters and the staff that work the self-checkout areas. Always friendly and cheerful ... and that's tough to pull off some mornings

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City
Blue Cross and Blue Shield has been our insurance provider through the IBEW Local 124 for about two years.  We just show our card wherever we go and we are good to go.  Don't have to deal with them much but we've never had any problems filing claims or anything.

Today I received a call from the office of the specialist that I was refereed to after my hospitalization stating that they had called PCIP and were told that they are not participating providers. This provider is listed on the PCIP website and in the printed Provider Directory as "in-Network".

This is the fourth provider from the major University Hospital that I go to that has been listed online and in print as "In-Network" by PCIP but who they tell you over the phone is "out-of-network"; sometimes they don't even bother telling you, they just process the claim with reduced benefits.

The problem is that PCIP uses multiple computer systems to keep track of providers and that they have what is possibly the worst and most flawed claims system in existence. Each of these providers are in-network but PCIP can't be bothered to keep track of them. Every time I see a doctor that is listed online or in-print as in-network I have to call PCIP and they have to submit some sort of maintenance ticket to update their own computer system with information that they themselves provided.

I called today and spoke to possibly the most unhelpful person in existence, who will probably get some sort of bonus for poor customer service. She basically told me that even though it is a known problem they will not fix it, it is MY responsibility to know of the error and call them ahead of time.

I was told that if I didn't like it I should just let them process the claim as out-of-network, pay the full price of the office visit and file a Formal Appeal later.

I called back and talked to a slightly more helpful person who was able to submit the maintenance request, but who still told me that they are not responsible for information they provide online or in print even though the contract says they are.

They are pretty good about having our prescriptions correct or having it ready.  They get us through the lines pretty quickly.  Usually the lines are not very long at all.  When we go there they take our name and everything and give us what we need.  We pay for things at the checkout and don’t pay it there, so they move people through a lot quicker.

GEHA provides good coverage for a good price. Co-pays are a little high but they are consistent with the rest of the industry. There is no dental coverage.

    CVS Pharmacy
It is pretty good. The people there are helpful and they answer questions. I will go there in future.
