Cabinet Making reviews in Blue Springs

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I provided Blystone with a drawing of a makeup vanity and took them a cabinet door. They had the vanity built earlier than they had projected. Not only does the makeup vanity fit perfect, it looks great. The makeup vanity filled the voided space in my bathroom and is perfect for getting ready in the mornings. I had checked on other cabinet makers and they wouldn't even look at my job because they said it was too small of a project. I would definitely use Blystone again.

  • I own a real estate company and I work with a lot of contractors.  I've had some good and bad experiences with contractors, butI can honestly say that when we hired Kitchen Solvers to do our kitchen remodel we were blown away by the experience.   From the initial consultation to the design and installation, Kitchen Solvers and their suppliers provided great service, wonderful ideas and design solutions.  The installation crews were on time, courteous and were very attentive to detail.  One of the contractors involved in the project wasn't happy with some of the tile flooring and made his crew tear it out and redo it - we hadn't even noticed it!  Even after the installation was complete, for a few minor adjustments that needed to be done their crew was quick to respond and very professional in every way.   We couldn't have been happier with the experience.   In fact, we have done two kitchens in two different homes with Kitchen Solvers and both experiences were similarly impressive.

  • I would like to start by saying, the kitchen looks great. It is beautiful and we have had tons of compliments on how it turned out. However, the process getting to that point was extremely frustrating and difficult. The project was supposed to last 6 weeks and it took almost 4 months. Many of the subcontractors did low quality work that had to be redone throughout the entire project. Wrong sizes of cabinets were ordered and had to be reordered. Cabinets were dented/scratched during install that also had to be reordered (some were never reordered and we are just living with it). Communication was poor throughout the project, and the owner, Bryce, was not only rude, but was not true to his word on multiple occasions. Our project manager Nate was not without flaw, as his communication could have been better as well, but he was at least gracious and apologetic when he made a mistake. This was very different from Bryce, the owner who tried to blame anyone but himself. Nate worked hard to make the flaws and mistakes right again, Bryce on the other hand, alluded that we were too picky and that we should be okay with the low quality of work. In the end, when they continued to not complete all of the punch list items, my husband and I finally started fixing the rest of the items ourselves. This all occurred between July and October of 2015. After completion of the project, our dishwasher never seemed to work quite right. We called multiple times and finally a GE repair person came to take a look in February. What he discovered was that Cabinet Clad had hooked the dishwasher up to the cold water line instead of hot, causing the dishwasher to trip a fuse. We called Bryce to have him send someone out to fix it. He said he would, but that WE would have to pay for it (so don't believe the one year warranty stated on their website.) Bryce then asked to speak with the GE repair man that was there so that he could understand the issue. When he got off the phone, the repairman said he was extremely condescending to him. This, to a complete stranger! Nate was then scheduled to come out first thing Friday morning. He didn't show and rescheduled for Saturday at noon. I cancelled my plans Saturday to be there for his appointment and he did not show again and also did not call or text to say he wasn't coming or to reschedule. I text him twice with no response. Frustrated, we called someone else to come over and fix the issue costing us more money. (Again, don't believe the warranty they claim.) During the process of fixing it, it was discovered that Cabinet Clad also hooked up the water lines to our kitchen heater incorrectly and it has been dripping water under our kitchen floor, into our basement, and through the walls since installation. After a month of chasing Bryce again to fix the issue, the leak, new tile, and new drywall was finally fixed. I would like to reiterate that the finished product looks great, but it was quite a headache to get to the finish.

  • It was not a quick process because of the water damage and waiting on the cabinets we picked out to ship but overall it was a great experience. Brian, Carlos & Joe were the main workers we had at the house - they were respectable, polite, and very informative - making sure we understood each step of the process. Brian started with the dirty work of removing the water damage, repairing drywall, replacing subfloors, installing laminate plank flooring, adding can lights, and fixing our lose electrical boxes. The cabinets we picked had to be assembled which took a day of work and then Carlos stepped in to complete the cabinets, build our countertops, install baseboards, add hardware, and basically put everything in place. Joe did an amazing job on our tile, AMAZING! We picked a hand sculpted glass tile that was a bit more tedious than we expected but Joe worked his magic and really made the kitchen, the tile is everything I hoped it would be and more - it's the focal point and looks fabulous. Brian helped to finish up the plumbing to get us back in business and Carlos has been worked to wrap up the little details and honey do list of things that needed completed to give our kitchen the finished touch. Everything turned out so well - we did not replace a set of upper cabinets to open the space more and added in a pantry - both Doug's ideas, we are so glad we listened because it changed the whole dynamic of our home. We also went with another of Doug's ideas and added in a breakfast bar which we are loving.
Doug was on top of the project the whole time, keeping us updated and checking in nearly daily. We liked that he let his workers be in charge of the day to day activity though, it made things flow well and allowed us the ability to schedule the next steps with them directly, which worked well with our schedule. Not having done anything like this before was scary but we felt confident in Doug and trusted his word and he proved that he knows what he is doing!
The only real issue we had was with 2 contractors who said they came to our home to work but never showed up, that was an extremely frustrating situation and we thought it would set us back even farther in the time line but Doug stepped up and sent others out right away. It was a frustrating situation for him too but he made it right and got things rolling in the midst of it all. We were very appreciative of his extra effort, especially in a situation that was out of his control.
We have recommended Leawood Kitchen and Bath to many already and will continue to do so - we will also be using them again in the future as we do more home upgrades. The pricing was fair and below cost for the other estimates we got and the work is quality! Doug's honesty and ideas were a breath of fresh air for us in our messy kitchen, which is now our favorite room in the house!!!

  • Wonderfully! I worked with Brenda Carrico and she was awesome. She was very helpful in helping us pick out our countertops and all of the little details that go with that, including what edges would work best with our tile design. She never made me feel bad about being picky, which I am. They sell a lot of different countertops, but Cambria is what we used and is the only US manufacturer of quartz countertops. Price was great, Cambria doesn't nickel and dime you with different prices for different colors and most of the edges you can pick. One set price. BEAUTIFUL countertops and large samples (12 x 12) which really helped to take home and try. Install from their company was equally awesome, the guys were great and even went to Home Depot to pick up a nonstandard brushed nickel drain for the sink for us. Could not have been nicer. We love the countertops. We used Cambria Bellingham and Cambria Armitage. We will use Double C again when it comes time for future remodeling work.

  • They were great to work with and very helpful. The counter came out great and was done ahead of schedule. We will use them anytime we need a laminate countertop in the future. Very professional yet friendly!

  • They were reasonably priced. I was so impressed with the people who made my daughter’s cabinetry that I went with them. Once the laundry room and bathroom is done I am going to be calling them to give us a quote for our kitchen.

  • They were good but their prices were high. They subcontracted people to do the measurements and they were the same people who came and did the installation too. I go to know the subcontractors and realized that it was not Lowe's that we were dealing with but the manufacturers themselves. All the materials did not come in at one time and they did not realize that it was not all there until a part of venue wasn't there but the majority of it I didn't know if it was there until they got out and started putting it together. Their representative came out immediately that day and found out what was missing and ensured that it was here in the next 4-5 days. I had to deal with them having to come back and do the kitchen because of this reason. If I wanted anything to be done in the kitchen then I wanted it there and done at one time. I don't blame this on Lowe's but they are dealing with this manufacture but I can't take this chance again. I don't think it was their fault that the stuff did not come in but when something is going to be shipped then it has to be shipped together at one time. The quality of their work was great. They were on top of everything that we had asked for but at the very beginning they were able to give me a date with regards to when the guys were going to be here but they could not give me an exact time or if there were going to be here in the next two hours or when the person was going to be here. By the time the project was over they were calling to see if the guy was on his way out or they were calling to see if they have got here yet or calling to see if I was happy with the work that they had done. They were very concerned about where I stood with them or where they stood with us; every time something was done or wasn't done they wanted to know how I felt about it. They were punctual but not early.

  • The quality of the cabinet maker was very good. I get lots of compliments. . The installer of the cabinets was also good. The cabinet maker I recommend. I do not recommend their subcontractor that did my remodeling.

  • Kirk is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work.  He is very detail oriented.  We had to wait a little while for the cabinets, but this was not a surprise since he told us upfront that he had two big jobs ahead of us.  The cabinets were built in sections so there are no trim pieces covering up seams.  The finish on the cabinets was perfect and they were constructed out of quality material.   Kirk and Marty came and installed them in a day.  Everything was left clean.  They came back after the hardwood floors were installed to do the additional items mentioned above.  Again the work was performed perfectly and cleaned up.  They also put the appliances back, which was very much appreciated.

We had been to the big box stores and priced their cabinets.  With all the add-ons at the big box stores (installation, trim, ect.) we did not think the price difference was enough not to have them custom made to our specs.  We are glad we did, the difference in quality really shows.  Kirk is easy to work with and asked questions to make sure you get exactly what you want.  He also came up with ideas that I hadn't thought about.   He has a website with pictures of his work, this is how we originally found him.
