    KC Home Solutions, LLC
We obtained three bids for our basement project and selected KC Home Solutions because of their great mix of personability and professionalism. From the first visit with Nick Shepard (president) I had a great feeling about the project. He understood what we wanted to do and offered some great additional ideas/insights that made the finished project even better. He totally respected our budget and was willing to work with me on modifications to the bid several times and provide detailed breakdown of the cost of different options before we even signed a contract. It was clear from the start that they really wanted our business and held client satisfaction as a top priority.
The job started on time and I can't say enough good things about all the guys who were in and out of our house for the 10 week span. The core KC Home Solutions crew (Nick S., Jason, Pedro, Nick C.) are a great group of guys. Very respectful of our home and also really friendly when my kids would ask questions or want to check out the progress. Its clear that they are all family guys and I loved that! They cleaned up each evening way beyond what I expected.
Jason was our project manager and was readily reachable by phone/text/email for any questions or concerns. It's a growing company and I could tell that they are busy with several projects, however, I never felt neglected or left out of the loop, and the work was completed at a very efficient pace. He has a great attention to detail and quality and I felt confident that things were getting done the right way. My dad is a home builder/carpenter and I admittedly have high standards, and these guys did not disappoint. (My dad approves of the job, too!)
The subcontractors by and large did great work as well. Any minor issues needing attention or touch up were addressed efficiently. We experienced only one big 'hiccup' with the project, due to an incorrect order placed by the tile supplier that resulted in the wrong color of grout being installed. KCHS worked to address the mistake and find a resolution that was favorable to us, and I always felt like they were in our corner when there was some push back from the supplier. In the end the grout was stained the darker color we had initially chosen, and it looks great.
Our top priority for finishing our basement was to give it the look and feel of the main level of our home. We have a lot of nice trim work and finishes that I wanted to replicate as closely as possibly downstairs. We envisioned this as more of an expansion of our home vs. just 'extra' room or a rec room tucked away in the basement. KC Home Solutions went above and beyond to make sure our vision was achieved. We've hosted some get-togethers since completion and several people have commented on how nice the trim and other details look downstairs. We are beyond happy with how it turned out! I would definitely recommend KC Home solutions and we very likely will hire them again in the coming years for future remodeling projects in our home.

It was fine, a few minor complaints but all were fixed to our expectations. They were great to work with if you had any concerns & seemed to listen to you. Cleaned up everything as they went along.

    Miracle Method Surface Restoration
Very pleased with the outcome of this project.  The tech was very friendly and explained the process to me as it was being performed.  I had white formica tops that had some chip and burn spots.  These were repaired and the process completed leaving me with countertops that look like granite at a fraction of the cost.  I have chocolate colored walls and didn't realize how much the white counter cut the kitchen in half.  Now with my new counter tops the kitchen looks pulled together.  I would recommend this process and this provider.

    URBAN TILE & STONE
We contracted Urban Tile and Stone to tile a uniquely challenging bathroom. Not only did the owner spend time discussing various uses of space he ultimately designed an amazingly modern, convenient, and family friendly space that met all of our needs. He remodeled the bathroom to include a full tub/shower, even dropping the tub down in order to compensate for low ceilings. The entire space was then tiled. He assisted with our tile and grout selections and encouraged a mix of materials that met our design goals and turned out amazing. He was supportive, punctual, and courteous. He was also surprisingly tidy and conscientious of our home. I will be contacting him in the future for our kitchen remodel as well.

We met with the company, they gave us a bid & when we were ready to sign papers, they came right out. Job was started on the day they said it would.Everything went fairly well, they ended up having to  paint (which we purchased & were not expecting to have to) the walls (at their cost) because the vanity was higher that the last & the walls were not finished above the shower enclosure.  We had a few issues but they always fixed what ever the problem was without any hassles. We had an issue with the vanity doors, they fixed it right away, when we said something about the walls, they agreed to paint it right away, so all issues were handled right away.  We would probably hire them again depending on the cost, I know I checked around & they were right in with the cost of the other companies. We liked how they broke out everything. We were originally doing a kitchen & bathroom  however, the cost was too high to do both. One company we were getting bids with wouldn't break the jobs out & they did. They are very detailed on the cost of each step, which we greatly appreciated.

    General Construction
He did an amazing job for me. He worked it in for me and got it done because he knew I really needed it done very badly. He started August 19 and it took him about two weeks to finish everything. They weren't here everyday because they have some outdoor job to finish up but it took him a couple of weeks and they didn't leave a mess or anything. It was nice. The bathroom part of it is $1,600 and the walls, plumbing and kitchen area was another thousand. His crew was nice, polite, clean, they didn't use bad language, they cleaned up after themselves and they never once came into the house without checking in from the part where they're working on to the main part of the house to make it was okay. They were very careful of my cats, cause I warned them when they started that I have cats, keep the door shut at all times and they were extremely careful. They did what they promised to do. They did a very nice job and finished things up. They're very good, I was very happy with them. They were here every time when they said they were gonna be, never once were they late.

I liked that they are knowledgeable and are willing to keep me informed about what's going on. I wanted to change the design as we were going along if I see things that need changed then and they also make recommendations. They are prompt as that is important and they will be here when they say they are going to be here. They leave by 4.30 and leave the area clean. They are willing o spend time informing you so that you know exactly what you are getting that is vital. They didn't just say they are doing and they kept me informed. They spend a lot of time doing that.

    Jericho Home Improvements LLC
We are planning to remodel our kitchen and living room and possibly two bathrooms. We scheduled an appointment to have a representative from Jericho come to our house to discuss a kitchen remodel and get an estimate. Dave came to the initial appointment and was to return with an estimate. He did come to the second appointment but did not have an estimate. We discussed the kitchen remodel again with the addition of some work in our living room. This was before Thanksgiving 2011. He said he would provide an estimate. I did not hear from Jerico again to I called in January. They were under the impression that we did not need the estimate until February, but I asked that the representative e-mail me the estimate. I was told I would receive it in a few days. A month and a half later I still have not heard back from Jericho.

Everything worked out well, we don't have any complaints about them. Their work was very good, they did exactly what we wanted and everything held up real well and they are very professional. We thought the price was fair.

    JOSE GAMBOA
Jose had positive references and has done work of similar scope in the past. Although his bid was above comparable bids for similar work done in the past, he was hired under a detailed contract outlining work scope, payment schedules based on work completed, and time lines for completion. Most of the work was completed, including the sheetrock repairs, texture, and painting, were of acceptable quality. Mr. Gamboa, however, after two weeks fell behind on the job timeline and failed to show up for days at a time as promised. Despite the contract terms, he insisted on being paid in advance for work not done. With work 2/3 done and 5 weeks past completion date agreed on, we were forced to terminate the contract, get legal waivers, pay for work completed, and seek competent contractors to finish the work yet undone. The failure to complete work even on delayed schedule resulted in loss of sale of property so it is difficult to recommend this contractor for any work requiring a time line.
