"When I arrived, the check-in procedure went quickly. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. I did not wait very long for my appointment before the technician came out to get me. The examination room was dark and relaxing. I laid down on an examination table and was able to keep most of my clothing on. The technician puts this gel on my skin where the ultrasound probe rubs over my abdomen. The test doesn't take very long. The ultrasound technician does not tell me the results of the test. The test results need to be seen by a radiologist and the radiologist sends a report to my primary care doctor pretty quickly. I get the results from my doctor in one or two days. This is a non-invasive test and it doesn't take much time out of my day. Because of the required 8-hour fast, I highly recommend you ask for an early morning appointment. If you get an appointment in the afternoon, you will be too hungry."

"I was referred to
Ballwin Ultrasound Technicians Provider Name Locked
for a nuchal translucency ultrasound which is a specialized ultrasound for high risk pregnancies. I made my appointment a month before and it was quite easy. The staff was courteous and the wait was reasonable. The doctor who did my ultrasound was very professional. Being a first time mom, and a high risk pregnancy at that, i was very anxious. The doctor explained what he was seeing and told us after the ultrasound that it looks ok. This really helped ease my anxiety. Imagine waiting for a few days for the result."

"The facility called me in advance to make sure I knew how much the procedure cost. (Most facilities with whom I've dealt have NO IDEA how much I will be charged for a procedure, so this was VERY refreshing!) They did ask for partial payment, which was a good idea since it gave me a good idea of what was expected of me. I arrived at the appointment early and they took me RIGHT AWAY. The person who did the ultrasound was so gentle and kind. Her bedside manner was warm and comforted me greatly. It was both an internal and external ultrasound which could be uncomfortable, but this tech made it very tolerable for me and asked me every so often how I was doing. She was just outstanding and I was most at ease. I recieved the bill in a reasonable amount of time afterwards and it was exactly the amount specified. I have nothing but praise for this tech and this facility! Thank you!"

"I always take first available morning appointments, especially for ultrasounds since you are not suppose to eat for at least 6 hours prior to the appointment. After checking-in at the counter, you have to do the usual paperwork which takes about 15-20 minutes. I find the staff at the counter are mediocre. Then you have to wait another 20-30 minutes before your buzzer goes off to be taken into the back for your actual appointment. In all of my 4 experiences, the ultrasound technicians have all been very friendly and professional. They have me change into the gown and warm up the gel. I don't believe it's customary for them to talk about your ultrasound, as I haven't done much chit chatting with the technician while my ultrasound was being done. After all is done, the last 3 times the technician was good about helping wipe up the gel spread everywhere but this last time in March I was left with the mess.
This last ultrasound appointment, I also needed to have blood work done, and this diagnostic center does have a small room for this service. I have small veins, and I roll my eyes every time I need blood work done. However, the two times I have been there, the lab technician was able to get it in one go without any suffering on my end. Absolutely adore them for that. Oddly enough, when I had a biopsy done in the same center, the nurses in the prep room were absolutely terrible. I was poked and prodded about 6 times in both arms in a rough way which almost brought me to tears. My two cents on the matter.

"I arrived and checked in with the appointment desk. The staff is always courteous, polite and very pleasant. After filling out the required form, I waited a short while before being let to an examination room where

"They were good. However, the only criticism is that they had to have the previous mammogram results. After the testing, they called to inquire about the information for the previous. It scared me a bit, because it wasn't clear why calling back."

"I had a 7:30 appointment and was told to arrive at 7:15 when I made the appointment. I even received a quite lengthy automated reminder call stressing the importance of arriving 15 minutes early because of the paperwork. I arrived promptly at 7:15. Initially no one was at the front desk. There was even a sign at the front desk explaining if you don't arrive early for the paperwork your appointment will need to be scheduled. The amount of paperwork I had to complete was negligible.

All of this is somewhat irrelevant, but used to make a point at how much they stress timeliness. I was walked to the back and told I was the first of the three 7:30 appointments to arrive so I would be the first appointment back for my mammogram. At 7:45 I had still not been brought back from my mammogram. I was just about to go up front to say something when I was finally called back. The actual mammogram took about 5 minutes or less. This was probably because she was in such a hurry and rough with me. It was as if a robot was performing the procedure. I then had to wait until the technician confirmed the films were good and then changed back into my clothes.

When I left they asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment and I stated I didn't want to rescheduled because I was disappointed that I was the first appointment of the day at 7:30 and I was just leaving at 8:00 a.m. I said there should be no reason to be 15 + minutes behind schedule for the first appointment.

I had no idea why I had scheduled my appointment so early, but it must have been that my wait was so long last year that I chose the 1st appointment of the morning to avoid the wait. However, it didn't make any difference, I still had to wait.

This is a mammography site. No consultation is needed. You do not speak to a doctor. There should be absolutely no reason for the day to not start on time. It's completely disrespectful to treat patients like this - even more so when they stress timeliness at so many 'touch' points along the way.

I'll be looking for a new location that respects patients time more than this location.
