    SuperDave The Handyman
I contacted Super Dave requesting an estimate for some carpentry work and weather protection for my deck. He showed up the very next day and gave me a very reasonable price. Very friendly and knowledgeable crew that arrived and got right to work at the scheduled date & time. They spent the first day replacing several boards and performing some fairly challenging carpentry tasks. Then a thorough power washing -pergola to lattice work- that included the vinyl siding! They did a very nice job and it looked GREAT! They were planning on letting it dry for a day or two but, unfortunately, it rained for the next 10 days. Super Dave kept in contact with me throughout that time frame and when we got a break in the weather, he fit me into his schedule right away. They spent two days painting the woodwork and spreading plenty of product in all the nooks and crannies for total and complete coverage. Nail holes were filled and they put a second coat on the heavy trafficked deck's surface. As an extra and unexpected bonus, they took down accent brackets and hangers and spray painted them with a nice black paint before reinstalling! After the job was complete, Super Dave contacted me to ensure everything was in order. He was insistent that we were 100% satisfied before he considered the job finished. We are impressed and highly recommend Super Dave and his crew to perform work around the house!

    Michael's Work

The workers showed up a little late to paint our deck, but once they arrived they worked really hard.  They were able to put several coats of paint on the deck and we have a two tiered large deck.  Overall I was very pleased with the work.  They power washed before they started also!

It started off great, our salesman was extremely nice. He came to the house twice to get everything we wanted priced out and did a great job walking us through the process.

The next step of setting up the appointment went well, they worked around our schedule and were very patient.

The crew that came to do the work was very nice and easy to get along with but here is where our problems started. The salesman had told us that any fixtures we wanted replaced on the outside of the house would be installed by their company as long as we had them purchased by the time the painting was complete. The foreman told us that was not true and a lot of the fixtures would be painted around and not removed. The reason being that the paint would stick to the fixture and come off if the fixture was ever removed in the future. The salesman also told us they would cover all of our plants and bushes around the house and could work around them to prevent damage. They did cover the plants but proceeded to step on and damage most of the plants around the house. They cleaned their equipment in the back yard next to the privacy fence and sprayed paint on it, they did clean the fence upon us letting them know this happened but it was extremely visible and hard to miss. We also had many runs and drip marks on the paint that were fixed once we brought it to their attention.

We also live in an older house that has had many coats of paint so when they power washed the house there were layers that came off all the way down to the siding and some sections that the paint had a few layers of paint left. So instead of removing the paint all the way down to the siding they painted over and the new paint now looks like it is old and textured. The foreman also told us he would replace any bad siding they came across before they painted. So we went and bought siding so they would have product to work with if they needed it but we found cracked pieces that were painted over instead of replaced upon inspection and were told it was too late to fix them.

Then days after they were complete bubbles started popping up everywhere and here is where we are having our biggest issue. The foreman came back out and said that this happens and it's an easy fix, all they would have to do is cut the bubbles out and paint over that area again. The problem is that where they cut the bubbles left a ring and so when they paint over it you can see the ring under the new paint. Then a few days later more bubbles started to form.

We contacted the owner and he came out to look at the house. He was very nice and understanding of the issues we had but said due to the time of year they really wouldn't be able to fix the problem until next spring. He again mentioned cutting out the bubbles and repainting those areas so we decided to wait until spring and give them a chance to fix their work. Over the winter not only did new bubbles pop up but now we have areas that have cracked and the paint has faded.

This is a review in progress since they are coming to the house this week to take a look at what has happened over the winter so I will keep you updated. I'm afraid at this point we may need the house repainted or if they can't fix their work we may have to go another route. The product itself is very nice and we love the look so we are hoping if we can get everything fixed correctly that we will be very happy.

We met with the guys from RS tonight and they will be back in a week to fix the bubbles and cracks weather permitting. We were told this should fix the problem but if any more pop up they will come back and keep fixing the problem. We were told the cedar panels are not really meant to be painted and should actually be stained. The bubbles forming are caused by not enough sealant being put down before painting and out of one hundred cedar house jobs they have only had around three have this problem. We did disagree with a few of the details discussed with the salesman and foreman at the beginning of the job and were told some of the things we thought were going to be done were not in the work order so we will have everything in writing going forward, that was a mistake on our part.

Once again they didn't dispute there was an issue and they have agreed to do their best to fix the problems which is what we appreciated from the start. They were confident this could correct the bubble and cracking issue (expansion). We will update again soon.

    Ralph Trunble
He told me he is a union painter, which is untrue as I checked with the Union Hall. He shows up, does the work, but any good painter knows that until the paint dries, the work is not finished. I have repeatedly called him and left many messages with no answer. On September the 22nd, I showed him that the shed was not finished. It still needed a second coat of paint. The other home with the ceilings, I told him everything looked fine at that time but went back through when it was dry, and there was an area that needed to be addressed. He continuously told me he would contact me back, but failed to do so. When I finally did speak with him, he had multiple excuses. I asked him to refund $100 so I could pay someone else to finish the job. He tried to place the blame elsewhere. When I offered to send him a letter for tax reasons, he gave me a fake (and somewhat offensive) address. I know have no way to contact him. I do not think he should be working for other consumers if these are his business practices.

It was excellent. They are very reliable and dependable. He worked well with me on the colors and they cleaned up after themselves. Overall, I think he is just a reliable person.
