  • Very well! They widened the driveway and added little "wings" at street for easier transition.also they added a custom designed sidewalk to flow with the custom built planter box. It all looks Amazing!

  • BEWARE! Terrible job done to my home. Mr. Monaghan came and looked over the project. First he said he would do it for over $3000, I said no that was too much. Then he said he had a cancellation on Friday (it was Wednesday then) and if I would decide then he would do it for $1800. He said he was leaving for Ireland in two weeks. I guess that was to p omit me to have them do it before he left. I said okay and gave him half. He was suppose to do the porch, and a short sidewal from the porch to the garage about 3 or 4 feet. He was also to shore up a couple concrete type supports inside the garage and repair the front right side of the garage wall, which I thought was to also to include mud jacking. A width there of about a 1 1/2 feet. He was suppose to send me a detailed bid of all he was to do. I did hand write it that evening and he signed and dated it. When Mr. Monaghan sent me a receipt for the $900 it just read for mud jacking front porch. I sent a message through Angie’s List and the same thru his personal email, which I still have. This was Thursday. He was suppose to send me the detailed bid before he did the job and I specifically requested that. He said to leave the garage door open so they had access to water and electricity. I left it open on Friday morning before I left for work, but said I want the bid before he proceeds with the job. He said he will get it to me, but his secretary was out and it will be sent before they do the work. I had a friend come by while I was at work to check because I still had not received the bid in writing. When my friend got there Mr. Monaghan was sleeping in his vehicle in front of my home. He told my friend that the document was being sent when his secretary got in. He also said he was waiting for his crew because they were still on a job. Though, he told me they had a cancellation and could do it. My friend was there for a while and their crew hadn’t come yet, so he left. When I got home I was shocked. It looked like someone had just splattered plaster 6 inches or more up 5e front of my porch and sidewalk. It was a bright white. It looked so bad and you could see it from the street. I called him and told him it looked horrible. You could still see from the side door of the garage that the gap was still there and that they just filled it in with cement instead of mud jacking it, but I guess they forgot to fill that part in where you could see into the wall and see the gap of several inches large. Mr. Monaghan told me on the phone, “You Americans are always looking for issues so you don’t have to pay.” I had already given him $900. After being on the phone with him for a bit he proceeds to tell me they were not done with the job. Why didn’t he say that right off. I don’t believe that. I think he thought he would not get the rest of his money, so he came out and finished it the next day. While in my front yard he proceeds to insult me and tell my I’m simple minded and that he had three daughter that could understand him. He said this because I didn’t understand that he couldn’t mud jack a part of the sidewalk because it was attached to the porch and it would have caused the other end of the porch to be out of line. I undefstood that, but what I don’t understand is that the guy saw the job and gave me a bid. He said yes he can do all that I wanted, but then he actually couldn’t. Then he starts telling me he broke a piece of hydronic equipment trying to jack up my porch and how it was 18” thick like that was my fault. If he found he could not do what he said he could, then he should not have done anything. My neighbor next door was there and told him he didn’t have to get mean. I told Mr. Monaghan do not insult me. He still charged me for the job and I regret giving him the full amount for a job he said he could do, but after the fact he could not. Now I am looking for additional bids to do the job right and opinions from experts in writing to go forward with my next steps to do something about the incomplete job Irish Construction did to the front of my home. He had three empty cement bags in my trash. That tells you how much he mud jacked. On top of that, he asked my neighbor if she would give him a review. She told him she couldn’t do that because he didn’t do any work for her. In my opinion Irish Construction’s reviews should be confirmed to see if they are legitimate. If you are asking someone to leave you a review when you did no work for them it should make anyone question if reviews are fraudulently posted. Now this person will probably come back and justify his behavior and say he did what he was suppose to, but I have a written document that he signed that refutes that claim. Compare what i have in the written document to what was done. And, if he realized he could not do the portion of the sidewalk because it was attached to the porch he should have deducted money from what he charged. In my opinion I would not trust him to ever do work for me again. His rude and unprofessional behavior is enough, but the shotty work is unbelievable. How do you tell someone you can do a job AFTER YOU LOOK AT IT BEFORE HAND and then say, “Well, we couldn’t do that because of this or that.” Beware! Irish Construction’s response to my review is completely untrue. They did not repair a piece of wood, my house was just purchased a few months ago and if it was leaning as Irish Construction says in his response, it would not have passed inspection. As a matter of fact, the inspector stated the house is in good sound condition. He was suppose to mud jack a porch and sidewalk, not a house. Irish Construction also is untruthful about not contacting him, as I have a printout for future purposes of the numerous calls I made to him after he did the work, starting with the very night I came home from work and saw the horrible job that was done. This guy is a the worst and most unprofessional business person I’ve ever dealt with. The sad part is he really doesn’t care because he got paid for something he didn’t do. And, to tell me that, “You Americans are always looking for issues, so you don’t have to pay.” That is outrageous, especially him being a Ireland immigrant living in our country. Such disrespect.

  • Matt Ford was the project lead for my basement repairs and provided exceptional customer service! The Stratum work team were prompt, courteous and completed all work to contract specifications. The work team completed all work on time and as scheduled with outstanding quality and workmanship.

  • From the time you meet Doug Ortmann, you know you are dealing with someone that is detail oriented. They received a straight "A" rating from us for all the reasons listed on the report card (price, quality, responsiveness, etc.). The concrete work force knows what they're doing, and Doug always oversees the project and has hands on. The other huge plus is the knowledgeable office work force. They are a wealth of info about payments, schedules, getting answers etc. We were so impressed with Ortmann that we are having them install new steps, patio, walkway, and double driveway, on a rental property we own, a project we have been pushing off until now. We would highly recommend Ortmann and would suggest at least calling if you need cement work.

  • Received call from Matt shortly after requesting an estimate. He thoroughly explained what could be done to stop the hydrostatic water coming up through the basement floor. Cost estimate within 24 hrs. Tyler and crew did a great job on the repair. Arrived on time, were very courteous, explained exactly what they were doing and left the basement area clean. Highly recommend this company!

  • The team was punctual, they work very hard and very well together as a team, they were very courteous and did a great job of cleaning up at the end of the day. We obtained several estimates for this project and this was by far the best estimate we received. The finished product is beautiful and I would not hesitate to hire this business again .

  • I'm not fond of writing reviews. They take time, I don't know if they're read by many, and I assume other people question how legitimate the reviewer is(is s/he a relative of the company being reviewed). I decided to write one this time with the hope that someone takes the time to read it and believe I don't know any of the people who did the work on my driveway. All I can do is vouch for them. Hoffman Concrete gets the highest rating I can give a company because it's deserving. They did what I asked them to do. They did what they said they would do. They did it well, quickly, professionally, and they did one heck of a job. When too many companies just want the money, it seems Hoffman Concrete wants the reputation (they didn't mind getting paid, I'm sure!). This is a first class outfit with respectful and competent employees. I would hire them again in a minute though they did such a good job I would only need them when/if I move. But I recommend them to you. They are everything they promised. Great job, guys! And....thank you.

  • Rex (the owner) came out personally to look at my job. He turned around a proposal quickly and I awarded the job to Rieger after getting bids from three bidders. I used Rieger based upon price, reputation (as he had done jobs for a neighbor) and his knowledge of the work. After award, they started quickly and finished the project in less than a week. A day or two into the build I noticed a portion of the wall that I didn't think was laid out in a quality manner (crooked) and they did not hesitate to pull that section out and rework it. Much appreciated.

  • Mark was very prompt, professional and delivered as agreed to within the agreed upon schedule. Most of the transaction was handled remotely because I was out of town. Mark sent pictures and followed up as needed to insure my satisfaction. I would definetly recommend Mark’s company to friends and neighbors. Ed Gallina

  • Very Good The salesman was very helpful His name is Scott Murphy. He is located in St. Louis. His number is 636-443-3344. The men who put up the garage were very nice. They started early and completed the job around 8 P.M. They put it up in one day. The garage has a very good warranty.
