  • Dave was wonderful, he went through the whole house with me and talked about everything that he saw throughout the house. He was very theral about every part of the house we went through and answered any questions I had about certain things throughout the house.

  • Dan was great to work with from start to finish. We started the project in April with the goal of having it completed in October. Dan was great at keeping in touch as we co-ordinated with a few other contractors (electrical, plumbing and HVAC) and helped up keep the project on task. One thing I would really like to commend Dan on was his ability to ask questions. Sometimes contractors just take a design and make assumptions, but Dan took the extra time, effort and interest to make sure that we were getting what we wanted. Dan and his employees were very professional, timely and punctual and left nothing to chance. I highly recommend contacting Dan for your construction projects. I know we're going to contact him again for our next project.

  • I worked with Rob to go over the plan, the proposed wiring and diagrams. He took the time to understand what the end goal of the entire remodel was, not just electrical components. I think this helped him to come up with some suggestions and recommendations that I had not considered. During the project, we ran into some tight spaces which required a few last minute changes, which Rob and his team were able to overcome without significant delay or outrageous overages in budget. The installers were very knowledgeable of the project as well. They took the time to confirm to the specifications, and offered a few suggestions and recommendations of their own. In the end, we chose to implement some of the recommendations which did cost a little more than we were expecting, however Rob and his team were very reasonable with the final overage charges and worked within our budget to make it happen. I would highly recommend Rob and his team for your next wiring project.

  • Dave is amazing! He is very knowledgeable and made us feel at ease while being professional. He also has a sense of humor that made the 3.5 hour Inspection fun. He explains things very well and had an Extremely thorough report. We learned so much from him and we now have peace of mind moving into our new home! Thank you Dave for everything! It was so great to meet you!

  • Wanted to finish basement and eliminate the remaining 10 percent of water issues. Found their website and looked at all the 3 minute videos which was informative. Contacted them by phone and a packet with their services listed arrived shortly after with more info. Had a company rep, Tom, come to the house and take measurements, inspect the basement for what they had to do. Very professional, represented the company well. Price was lower than what I had estimated and received discount for preferred payment option. 3 man crew arrived right on time, worked hard, only taking break for lunch that we gave them. Entire job done in about 8 hours. I was very pleased and impressed. This was in December 2016. They advised that since the ground was frozen, they'd have to come back in spring to finish the outside underground portion. In May 2017 representative contacted me to arrange a date. A different crew arrived on time, finished in about 2 hours. Very professional.

  • I called two other HVAC businesses for estimates. One was Schneider Heating and Air Conditioning in Winona (101 Harvester Ave, 507-454-3001; they also have an office in La Crosse, WI). I spoke to Joe in particular. When I told him I needed an estimate for replacing the outside unit, he asked for the model and why it needed to be replaced. I explained the diagnosis by the other business. Joe asked if the tech who'd done the diagnosis had checked to be sure it wasn't the outside unit's crankcase heater rather than the compressor. I knew the answer was no, because I'd been with the tech the entire time he was on our property, asked questions, and discussed what he was doing. I like to learn about equipment in my house. Joe said the crankcase heater often fails on models like ours, and trips the breaker just as a failed compressor does. He then explained that the crankcase heater is important if your AC is turned on when the outside temp is below 65 degrees F, but irrelevant if that won't happen. When I told him that has never happened given our use of AC, he said we could disconnect the crankcase heater and see if the AC works properly. If it does, we could leave the crankcase heater disconnected. Most important, we wouldn't have to replace our compressor, because it would not the problem. Joe had already been generous with his time and knowledge, without receiving a penny for it. But he then went above and beyond. I asked him if he could explain to me how to check the crankcase heater myself, so I didn't have to pay for another service call. Because I had observed the tech from the other business, I knew how to turn off power to the outside unit so I would not get shocked while handling its wiring, I knew how to access the outside unit's wiring, and I had its wiring diagram. Joe explained what to do, what to expect, and said I could call him back. And I did call back the next morning, because while I did it correctly, the results left me confused. He explained why and 15 minutes later our AC was running. Joe had been correct: the crankcase heater had failed but the compressor was fine. Had I not called Schneider Heating and Air Conditioning in Winona, it’s likely we would have paid $2,200 to $3,000 to replace our outside unit. Because of their expertise, honesty, and generosity in sharing their expertise, we paid only for a service call—and that money went to the business that misdiagnosed the problem in the first place. In the future, when we need work done on our heating or air conditioning, we will call Schneider. They are the kind of business you hope to find and feel fortunate when you do.

  • The project went very well, the customer service staff was excellent; the men who completed the work were very professional and courteous. They were all very responsive to my concerns and did everything they could to satisfy me. I was very pleased with their work. I would recommend them.

  • In Dave's inspection report, he mentioned a water leak in our pipes in the basement. He had advised us to call the city when it warms up in the Spring for the city to come out and fix our leak. Spring came, we called the city and surely they DID NOT fix the issues that was going on with our pipes. We called Dave to confirm that was what he advised us and he told us again that the city should take care of the bill to fix our pipes. We were new home buyers and did not know any better at the time what the city would fix and what they wouldn't fix, that's why we hired a professional. His mistake cost us $8500.

  • We called them back, they came the next day and put some more work in. This return visit was covered through their two year guarantee (which you pay a little extra for). But it is a big house with a lot of possible entry points, so I somewhat expected that it might not be a simple project. We still have to wait a day or two for the bats to leave. I was mainly impressed by the prompt reply to our call and their willingness to work through a problem that requires skill and experience... and I am confident that they will work until we get the problem resolved. I'd recommend them to a friend.

  • Liebenow Waterproofing's bid was 40% cheaper than some of the big waterproofing companies, and he has a far superior product, that's more customized for the job. The following was performed: o Removed all sheetrock and debris from the partially finished basement o Cleaned all remaining wall and studs, removing all mold and mildew. o Removed existing failing sump baskets and drain tile. o Installed a moisture barrier behind the studs o Installed two new sumps and drain tile around the perimeter BELOW the wall footings. o Installed two discharge pipes into my street storm sewer and into a ditch behind my property o Fed my gutter downspouts into the drainage system. o Dug out and replaced my window wells and installed window covers. o Cleaned everything up. Amazingly, he was able to install the entire system without tearing out the perimeter stud wall. He has a small crew, but they spent a lot of time customizing the project to suit our needs. Lots of manual labor was involved. It took about 10 days to complete. I couldn't be happier with the result.
