FHanks ExcavatingAfter the installation everything was fine for a while. Then sewage began to back up into our basement. We notified Hanks Excavating, and they came out and pumped the system. The problem kept occurring, however, and in the process our basement carpet was ruined, as well as some of the walls. Just recently we had another company come out to fix the pipes that run from our bathroom to the septic. They discovered, during the project, that Hanks Excavating had not only left the old system in the ground, which is a health hazard, they had hooked the new system up to it! The new company fixed the problem and told us that this had been the cause of the sewage backing up into our house. We confronted Hanks Excavating about the problem, but they denied ever knowing that the old system was there. My family is currently fighting a legal battle to get Hanks Excavating to pay for the other company's bill, since they had to fix this oversight. As of today, June 13, 2011, the Waseca County court system has ruled that Hanks Excavating must pay for the removal of the old system and the installation of piping to the new system. While we would have been happy to leave it at that, Hanks Excavating sent the following letter with the check for payment: "As I bid this septic system for $9,500 on 4/2004 and I made a mistake in my billing you still owe me $500. I won't be charging interest for the last 7 years at 18% if you pay me in full BEFORE you cash this check. If you don't pay me in full I will take you to court seeing you like to sue people anyway." I will note that he has no real legal claim, as it is now beyond the six year statute of limitations in Minnesota. I recommend staying away from this individual and his company.- Jennifer H.

FDelta Van Lines was a terrible experience. They are brokers and don't let them tell you differently. My sales person, Natalie, was quite nice until I started having problems. Then she would not return my calls. She promised me that they used their own trucks and drivers ( except upon rare occasion ) . Not true. My pick up was "Big Boy Moving." Four guys in which one was on the phone the entire time, one was skyping in the bedroom with the doors closed and the other two were working. The head guy immediately told me there would be an extra $300 for a long haul and $150 for a bulk shipment. I had told Natalie the elevator was right there next to the loading dock at my apartment. She said no problem, no long haul charge. The bulk charge, I never did understand and they really couldn't explain it . When I called Natalie while this guy was trying to collect this money, she said and I quote "Well I will never use them again.". She said she would call me back and that's the last I heard from her. I was stuck. I ended up calling Big Boy Movers and they had no answers either. Before the movers were done, they came right out and asked me for a tip. Of course I gave it to them, they had my stuff. But they literally asked me. This was the most unprofessional experience I have had moving. I have written an email to the manager Joshban Molina who has never responded. Natalie stopped communicating the minute she had my money. The only good thing that happened was that they were on time. I do not recommend this company at all. Besides the rudeness of the actual movers, there was no support from the company I had hired, Delta Van Lines. They could have cared less.

CThey sent a plumber immediately in response to my call, and I was impressed. I had moved into a house that had long been vacant, and after using the sinks and shower for a few days, the drains had ceased to function and I had standing water.
The plumber that they sent me was pleasant and seemed honest. He provided some options, and I chose to have him come back and clean my drains using their hydroscrub method ($670 for both kitchen and bathroom sinks). I had to wait a few days for service, however. When he came back and started the treatment, he soon found that he couldn't get the snake all the way down the system, so he aborted and went down to the crawl space to see if there might be further issues.
The plumber diagnosed the problem as too-narrow and misconfigured pipes. I couldn't complain, since he didn't charge me for the failed attempt to clean the pipes with the hose, but this meant further delay, and the job would now involve replacing pipes and would cost $2500. I purchased a Mr. Rooter advantage membership for $100, to bring down the cost ($2900-$2500), and I purchased a drain cleaning product that the plumber talked up, for $50. I almost had Mr. Rooter do the work, since I was desperate and I knew that other plumbers in the area were busy and scheduled out pretty far, but luckily, I got someone else out to provide and assessment, and he let me know that the $2500 price tag on the job was excessive.
Thus, I hired Dan's Plumbing to come out and charge by the hour, rather than charging by the job, as Mr. Rooter does. It ended up being about $900, and Dan is someone I'll use in the future--really impressed with his experience and his honesty.
The lesson is, don't pay Mr. Rooter to do any work on your plumbing except for the drain cleaning that they specialize in, and hopefully that will work better in your situation than it did in mine. Most people probably already know this, but I almost learned the hard way. In addition to the high price, I didn't really enjoy working with this company. I'd rather call up an individual plumber than go through a scheduler. And I definitely don't like the gimmicky salesmanship and the system of requiring customers to become members to get better pricing.

DIt was a real bad experience. The website design and development was never fully completed. I waited long but that did not work either. At the end, I am feeling huge frustration.
