    American Eagle Plumbing
Outstanding service from Jon! This was a large project, and he was responsive, clean (shoe covers, many rugs and drop cloths laid down for floor protection), knowledgable, courteous. Cost was high, but he worked with me, and I was able to use a couple of discounts. I highly recommend this company, and I would hire them again.

    Smilies Sewer Service
Smilie's response was excellent throughout. They came to diagnose the situation within hours of being called despite snowy weather and temperatures in the 20's. The office staff was sympathetic, knowledgeable, and helpful. All the staff were highly professional. I could not have asked for a better response and help in an urgent and difficult time. They have continued to help with prevention from freezing in future years.

Metro Heating came out to assess why we weren't getting sufficient hot water. They investigated a number of possible reasons before concluding that it must be related to one of the thermostats or heating elements (of the two stage system). They recommended replacing both sets since it was not possible to isolate the exact stage and element causing the problem. So we agreed. The repair was about 1/6 the cost of a new system.

Culligan Water Conditioning of Anoka MN
Our reverse osmosis system started leaking and flooding the cabinet that it was in. We have very heavily treated well water at our home, so we depend on the RO system for drinking water, cooking, etc. I called Culligan of Anoka to request repair and was given a repair date nearly 3 weeks out. That's 3 weeks with no drinking water. Terrible customer service. We are considering replacing our system with a service that is more dependable.

    All Star Plumbing
Fine, at first. The bid of $1600 was the highest of the three we received, but we went with All Star because of the great reviews on Angie's List. I would always prefer to pay more for quality and expertise, as long as it's worth it. The trash disposal and new sink and faucet are fine. Jack had trouble with the toilet since it had been installed improperly, mentioning that it was hard to get level. After a few months, the toilet started rocking. If I had understood then what I know now, I would have called him immediately, but it was only when I saw the large sewage leak and mold in the finished ceiling of our basement below the toilet that I understood the gravity of the situation. I immediately shut off the water and called Jack. He couldn't make it out for a few days. When he did come, he discovered that the new flange, which he had replaced seven months earlier, was "bad." He fixed it, which was great, but then he billed us an additional $450 to install a new flange. No warranty of his previous work. When I sent him a note asking why we were getting billed such a high price for a simple job -- and for work that should have been warranted in the first place, I got no response. Not at all what I expected for all the money I had paid him. In addition, I had to pay for mold remediation work, a new ceiling, and painting. This has been a nightmare, and I hate feeling like I've been taken for a ride.

    American Eagle Plumbing Inc
Not so well. They were professional and timely, but out of site on cost. All told it was almost $2400 for materials and labor. They would not give me a break down of parts and labor cost. They work off of some sort of chart pricing, that din't seem to really reflect the scope of what they were bidding. After checking other plumbers, I was told the typical cost should be in the $800 range for parts and labor. Another company said I could supply the pump and only pay 1 1/2 to 2 hours of labor to install. Much better deal. These guys must think I am an idiot to pay their asking price. It was almost insulting. Stay away from these guys.

    Kitchens By Design
Very happy with the design and color recommendations. Project was on time and complete. Excellent install workmanship. Great to work with, cleaned up complete and neat at end of each day! Controlled the dust with "plastic walls" around project.

    Johns Sewer & Drain Cleaning
I called John's and they sent someone over within 45 mins. Chris gave me a price before he started so there were no suprises. He cleaned the drain, tested it, and gave me pointers on how to maintain it. He did an excellent job.

Once they came, they worked steadily and finished the job, did a decent clean up and were very professional. Wish they worked on the weekend!! Turned out they needed to drill 80 feet deeper than our original well.

Roger Vadnais Plumbing & Pump Service Inc
Called on Monday. John came early the next day as scheduled, replaced our broken water heater and removed all debris. He did not have any rubber shims to raise the new tank off the basement floor with him so he used wood and said he would come back with the rubber shims. This did not happen. John is very professional both in his appearance and speech. He is knowledgeable of the plumbing field. We used this company to replace our well tank. We plan to continue to use them for our plumbing needs.
