    Handy Rite
We are very happy with Handy Rite, they were a pleasure to work with. Ben, Stacy and Vlad were all very personable and professional. They always responded quickly to communications, and gladly accommodated our requests. The quality of the work is excellent and they finished it very quickly, and all for a great price. Who could ask for more? They're top-notch in every way. We would absolutely hire them again and enthusiastically recommend them.

    Barrier Free Living, LLC
This is a start-up company and they had trouble maintaining their schedule. We had to call them to remind them we were waiting for the job to be done. Kevin is efficient and easy to work with, made helpful suggestions. I have no criticism of the work that was done.

    Touchstone Accent Lighting Inc
I hired them twice to repair yard lights that have been broken for more than 3 years. total cost was about $1500. Kind reasonable. Their technician had good recommendations as where to put lights with cost in mind. We are happy with this company's service

Company is co-owned by two people; one is in charge of sales, the other is responsible for project management.  The company is on the smaller side but they do employ a few of the workers that are responsible for a majority of the work.  This is key.  They contract out electrical and plumbing.  The quality of the work is good and they were very responsive to the few concerns we had.  We were especially pleased that they stayed within their project timeline and budget.  If there was anywhere where there was an opportunity for improvement it would be with the project management.  We felt that he was just not a "people person" and sometimes got frustrated with us when we did not understand "technical" descriptions or wanted things done a certain way.  In the end we got what we wanted but if he worked on his "people skills" we think this company would be even more productive.  If we had another kitchen to remodel I would use them again.  Great job for good prices.

    Eric Mortenson Construction
Eric is booked several weeks in advance and he only builds decks in the Spring, Summer and Fall so, as others have stated, get in touch with him 2-3 months before you need your new deck. Eric and his assistant, Scott, do all of the work themselves keeping the quality and craftsmanship at the premier craftsman level. Eric states on his website that he does only high end decks and porches but he delivers value beyond expectations. When the design is locked and a $1,000 deposit is paid he has the design documents prepared, takes care of HOA approvals and pulls all permits. The progression is painless and he keeps you up to date on approvals and anticipated start time and estimated completion date. He started right on time and completed a couple of days early. His attention to detail, leveling, mitering corners, cutting in gutters and providing LED lighting for the deck posts complete with photoelectric timers. The process was the most painless construction project I have ever experienced and the results exceeded my expectations.

    Stafford Home Service
Electrician was very accommodating when it came time to deciding how the fixture should be oriented (five globes on cords of various lengths). He demonstrated several options, and I made my choice.
We have used Stafford exclusively since 2008, and their technicians and office staff have never failed to provide outstanding service. One winter our furnace failed when we were out of town and painters were working throughout our home. Stafford made an emergency house call and quickly got everything back up and running. We have recently moved far across town, and now they come to our new location. They are responsive, accommodating, timely, courteous and extremely knowledgable. I highly recommend them!

    Twin Cities Siding Professionals
Our experience with TCSP was awesome and I recommend them very highly. We are very detail-oriented and picky people and were looking for a company that would provide the level of care and attention to detail that we demanded and we found that with TCSP.
Chad was our salesman and right away from the first meeting with him I was impressed with the thoroughness of his presentation. We walked around the house and I asked him questions about how they would handle various areas and he answered all my questions patiently and completely. A few days later Chad came back to present us with our quote and he spent a couple hours walking us through their process and what we should expect. We liked hearing about TCSP's plan to handle any moldy or damaged wall boards that might be encountered. Chad also explained their process for flashing he joints to keep everything water tight. We came away from the presentation with the feeling that with TCSP we could be absolutely sure that the work would be done right and that there wouldn't be any corners cut. Chad was very easy to work with and prompt with returning our phone calls.
Once we agreed to hire TCSP, Nate was assigned as our project manager. He was just as great to work with as Chad, and always easy to get a hold of via phone or email, even during evenings and weekends. Nate spent time with me walking around the house before the work started to make sure that we were on the same page.
The work went very smoothly and took just under 3 weeks, exactly what I was told in the beginning. The crew worked at a steady pace and never seemed to rush through things. The quality of work looks great. The crew was friendly and did a good job of keeping the work site tidy.
There were a couple items that came up during construction where things weren't done as expected, however Nate and TCSP took care of all of these and fixed them as soon as I brought them up. These type of items would happen with any contractor on any major project, but the way that TCSP went out of their way to rectify these situations is where I think TCSP really shined and showed their dedication to their customers. For example, the wrong size light mounts were installed in some locations due to a miscommunication regarding the size of new lights that would be installed. I pointed this out to Nate when I noticed it and by the next day the mounts had been replaced with the proper size mounts and the re-work looked completely seamless. I am extremely happy with how easy it was to work with Nate and TCSP.
Overall, I recommend TCSP very highly. To be fair, their price came in a little higher than other quotes we received, but the piece of mind that we got from working with TCSP made it worth every penny and I honestly don't think the quality of work would have been as good out of any other company. We are convinced that our siding was done right and will function properly for years to come.

    Randy's Electric
The service was very good. He turned things around on us. He didn't work by the hour like the coupon indicated, and all of a sudden, every job I had, he said how much they charged for it, and it didn't matter how quick they did. He was here for 2 hours and it ended up to be almost $800. I was going according to the amount of time he was. He charged by the job. I asked him to check the electricity, I said that it seemed to be fluctuating, and he just did a real quick check and said it is fine, but I keep blowing out my LED lights. I think the electricity in this unit is inconsistent, but the thing that made me mad and that caught me off guard was that I was watching at the amount of time I had, and he kept charging me by the job. He got himself up to $800 in 2 or 2 1/2 hours. Part of it is my fault and I should have told him to stop. When I had him put in a ceiling light, he said that it was $175, and I had the light and everything.  He ignored the hourly time, and went according to job.  It wasn't until the dust had settled, that I realized that he had nailed us on it. I would have understood if he was here for 5 hours or something, but he was here for 3 hours the most. The work was fine.  He was professional. The punctuality was good.

    Genuine Electric

Our outside patio/backdoor light burned out, and I contacted Nick to replace it.  He came out when he said he would, and replaced it.  This is the second time we have contacted Genuine Electric, and both times Nick took the time to ask me questions so he knew exactly what I wanted in a bathroom fan as well as the kind of flood light we wanted.  I especially wanted to avoid the harsh white light of an LED bulb so he brought two different kinds of light bulbs out for me to look at.  He explained the difference plus I was able to see what both looked like when turned on.  It was, once again, a very positive experience.  It is absolutely wonderful to have someone I trust to do excellent work on our home.  I could relax and know the job would be done right.

    Randy's Electric

Work was fine. Prices were not based on actual time. ALL FLAT RATE AND MUCH TOO HIGH. Does $118 to install an electrical box into an existing opening ( took no more than 8 minutes to install ( I observed ) sound fair??

They did good work but the bill , in my estimation , was

    price gouging.
