Being more than 50 years old, the bay windows on the front of our colonial-style house began to rot on the bottom. They needed to be replaced, and we wanted to replace them with new windows that would retain the architectural look of the existing windows. After doing some research, we decided to purchase custom windows from Andersen (not and quot;renewal by Andersenand quot;).
Being highly recommended, we contacted Verlyn Vander Lugt, owner of Ver-Van LLC. Prior to bidding on our project, he spent a considerable amount of time working with Andersen Windows, and he methodically measured and considered all aspects of the job at hand. We agreed to his bid and contracted with him to do the project.
When the windows arrived at Andersen, he arranged a date for delivery of the windows and for beginning the project. He and a helper removed the old windows and installed the new windows in one day ensuring that the rain we were to receive would not negatively impact the project or the end result. The job required finding, installing, and painting trim that was as close as possible to the original trim. He worked with paint suppliers to get the exact matching paints required. Again, he was very thorough in every aspect of the project. The job was completed during two subsequent days.
Verlyn was very careful, methodical, and professional. He protected plants in the garden outside of the window and left the inside perfectly clean. He re-installed the shades and repositioned the furniture that had to be moved prior to starting the project. He also did some extra work that was not in his contract, but something that he discovered needed to be done to comply with state codes. He did the extra work free of charge.
    We highly recommend Ver-Van LLC.

Adam, and his crew were awesome to work with. He is a terrific guy,
and so easy going. Adam is willing to give direction, and keep an eye on
your budget as you go along. If there were changes needed, he took it
    all in stride.
The guys arrived when they were supposed to. They
worked long days, and were professional, fun, and hard working guys.
They cleaned up at the end of the day. Jason was the lead, on the crew
that worked on my house. He was equally wonderful, and easy to work
    with.
Highly recommend this company! I think this a company you would want working with you, and for you.

We sat down with Rose Creek's internal design team to review our ideas for our kitchen. They took it all and put it on paper and produced 3D color drawings so we could see our new kitchen before any work was started. We discussed timeframe for the construction process so our family could adjust to the action in our home.
During the construction process, Dave was on-site every day doing a great job managing the workers at our home and communicating with me. John and Mike kept the budgets in line and I was particularly happy with the allowances I had for each selection - I could have the upgraded materials without blowing the bank.
The only hard part was going without a functioning kitchen for a period of time but Rose Creek got it done within the promised timeframe. I would highly recommend Rose Creek Builders for ANY project. They are honest, great to work with and have such talented designers!

What started this journey to begin with was we had water damage in our kitchen and living room at our cabin. We originally got a quote that we we requested last August from another contractor (that was referred to us) and it took 3 months and a lot of hounding to get it. The original insurance adjuster that came out they would give us 3k for the damage, we knew this would not cover the cosmetic repairs yet fix the source of the problem. We ended finding Roger totally by accident and on a lark I had him get me a quote, not only did he get me the quote the same week, he identified the real issues for the leak. He worked with the insurance adjuster to get the insurance company what they needed. When we did submit the original quote, the insurance company told us it needed to be more detailed. As luck would have it I came across Roger of Wisconsin Cabin Keepers totally by a fluke. Since the first contractor was referred to us, and Wi Cabin Keepers was not I was hesitant to use him but I decided what the heck he can at least take a look. Well within 3 days, he came out, figured out the source of the problem (which we did not know) and got us a detailed quote. Based on the new quote, a different adjuster came out and met with Roger and he worked with him to show him what needed to get done. In the next 2 weeks the insurance adjuster needed more information and each time Roger got him what he needed. All said and done the insurance company cut us a check for 23K. Turns out when they took out the ceiling Roger was dead on what the issue was.

In summary, without Roger's experience working with insurance companies, we would not have gotten the money needed to make the proper repairs needed. What was exceptional about him, unlike my past experience with contractors at our cabin, when a time was set for a meeting, he prompt and on time, and he met with us on weekends. In addition, he helped us with ideas we never even considered that really have made a difference in the home.

I worked with Richard in the summer of 2011 when my husband and I purchased a condo in Stillwater as a second home.  We needed to make some changes to fit our tastes and found Richard as a great source of information, as he has worked on other condos in the building for many years.  Richard is a great contractor and I will work with him again in the future.  Richard is very handy and can do almost any job.  He is also a master-carpenter so is really great with woodworking and cabinets.  He did a great job with installing tile for a kitchen backsplash and a fireplace surround.  He installed hardwood floors in most of our condo.  He also made a large frame around a huge mirror over the double sink in the master bath.  The wood matched perfectly with the cabinets and it looked like it should have been this way from the beginning.  Richard also installed replacement sinks and faucets in the kitchen and half-bath.  Probably my favorite improvement was the built-in cabinets that were added by the sides of the fireplace.  Thanks, Richard, we love it!

Very poor experience. Roof leaked almost immediately. Personal property damaged and crews did not clean up. Storm Guard unresponsive and slow to help until we got the company president involved. Here's the story... Storm Guard crew showed up at 7 am on Monday with no forewarning. We were told they would come the next week and we were not expecting them. They installed the roof in about 1.5 days. Did not clean up very well. I found shingles and nails all around the house. They also dropped a shingle on top of my hot tub cover, which made a giant cut. They did replace the cover after I complained. The big issue was that the roof leaked almost immediately. Storm Guard sent out supervisors to repair the leak. Yet, it continued to leak. After the 4th try, the leak was finally fixed. The process of getting someone to fix the leaks was very difficult and time consuming. It took nearly 6 months to get it fixed after all of the failed attempts. In addition, the leaks ruined our carpet and it took several more months to get Storm Guard to pay for carpet cleaning. Overall, it was a really bad experience. I was able to talk to Jim, the president of the company, a few times and he was a good guy. He really wanted to fix things for us, but his crews and supervisors were completely incompetent. I will not do business with them again.

They are great. They don t take any short cuts at work and they are proud of the quality they give. They explain everything they are doing. I am impressed with these guys. In this time of economy downturn these guys are fully employed and that s because they are so good at work. They complete the work pretty much on time and clean up after work. I call them and leave a voice message. They return the call within a minute. I am very happy with them.

Project never moved ahead. I contacted Angies list for a refund. I never received a reply. I ultimately just disputed my credit card invoice and still never heard from Angies list.
