    All Bright Home Services
Great. He was open to using our purchased supplies . He used our gutter guards but suggested a different heating wire. We appreciated his willingness to use what we had purchased and also his expertise in suggesting a different wire. He purchased that and showed us the receipt. He was friendly and everything looks great. He came out and gave us the estimate and then performed the work immediately. I dont know if the price was good because we didnt get other bids.

    Window Concepts of Minnesota Inc
We had Window Concepts replace some of our windows back in 2010. The windows have performed flawlessly, and the installation process back then was awesome - the guys really worked hard for what we had ordered. Circle back 8 years and we have selected them again to help complete the remodeling of our bathroom with a new tub surround as we prepare the house for sale. They provided us with an estimate that is more than fair and are adding in little extras that make our lives easier as we sell. We are very happy with the work this company has done and the products they sell.

    Professional Gutter Systems
Lowell always called before arriving at the work site. He and his assistants did the work quickly, professionally, and expertly. They were very careful and meticulous about everything they did, from matching gutter colors, to forming and trimming aluminum and checking the levels of all the gutters. Lowell and his crew are highly experienced and know exactly what they are doing. They provide old school professional service (a rarity these days in the trades). Their prices are fair and reasonable. Better to hire this outfit than someone else who charges 20% less but has less experience. Installing gutters and handling water effectively are tricky tasks best left to the professionals (like Lowell). I would hire them again in a heartbeat, and am glad I managed to find them.

    Bear Roofing & Exteriors
The siding was completed and no one ever came back to do the gutter. Nor did anyone follow up with us. After a year we gave up on it and fixed the gutter ourselves. However, when the invoice finally came, about a year later, we were charged for the gutter. When I called the gutter charge was removed without question. The work that was done was done well, however, the lack of professionalism with the follow up and being charged for something was never completed was very disappointing.

    Trinity Exteriors Inc
We were very pleased with the quality of the work that was done, and that Trinity was able to successfully negotiate storm damage repairs with our insurance company. Our out-of-pocket expenses ended up costing less than we expected.

    Legacy Restoration, LLC
    Avoid hiring Legacy Restoration LLC.

My wife and I were promised the process would be easy, work would be done in a few weeks, that we would never have to visit their offices, and that no money was due until after the work passed inspection.  We hired them in late August, 2015.

The roof and vent covers were replaced in early September.  The downspout was replaced in late October.  That's when the calls demanding payment began.  The facia work was not done, and there had been no inspection, so no money was due.  Calls like this continued throughout the rest of the process. The facia was finally replaced in the pouring rain in mid-December.  Materials were left behind for weeks, until I offered to have them recycled for them.  There were more calls for payment, but no inspection.  I called the inspector myself, just before Christmas (I figured I'd get these dopes out of my life).  The inspector found no photos of the work on site and had to mark the inspection "failed".  And it started to snow, so he said there would be no more inspections until spring.

Just after Christmas, the calls from Legacy Restoration came almost daily, them demanding money, me reminding them I owed no money until the work passed inspection.  I was double-teamed on the phone, with two Legacy Restoration employees shouting at me for money while I repeatedly explained that shouting would do no good, they needed to get the work inspected so I could pay them.  A few days later, they threatened to put a lien on my house (which, it turns out they could not legally do for some time yet-- the person on the phone lied to me) if I did not deliver a check for 50% of the balance. Further, they would not drive to my house to pick up the check because I was "too far away".

I delivered a check, on the condition that they sign a letter promising no more phone calls until 2 weeks after the inspection took place, and a written apology for mistreating me on the phone.  They refused, until the CFO heard the noise of our arguing, heard my case, and  wrote the note I had requested.  I asked what they were going to do to make up for all the mistreatment I had received, and the CFO replied, "We don't DO that."

Weeks later, the work was inspected, and it passed. Going against the letter the CFO had written, I was phoned and told to pay up.  I made another trip across town with the final payment.  I requested they have a "paid in full" receipt waiting for me.  Instead I had to wait in the entryway while a secretary typed it up.

To sum up-- work promised in September was completed with inspection at the end of February, payments were not picked up, I was harassed for payments that were not due, dealt with dozens of rude phone calls, dealt with their inability to call for inspections, received poor communication, pondered the moisture trapped  behind aluminum facia on my house, and received absolutely no effort on their part to smooth out this incredibly bad customer experience.  This was not at all what I was promised at the contract signing.  This is the worst customer experience of my life (and I'm 50).

I sent letters explaining my experiences to the presidents of the company and to supervisory personnel.  I have never received a reply.

ANY contractor can work a hammer and nails.  It's the customer experience that counts.  Avoid Legacy Restoration LLC.

    Suburban Home Improvement
This is a smaller company located in the Northeast suburbs.  We were very pleased with our residential project, including quality of work, communications, scheduling, reasonable price, and cleanup.  The crew was great to have around.  The owner/estimator did his best to give us what we wanted and needed, and he wasn't afraid to do some extras that the bigger-company bidders didn't want to be bothered with.  I will keep his business card and recommend him to our neighbors.

    Gutter Systems
In  the Fall of 2008 Bruce installed our gutters with covers for $1575.  He told us his work was warrantied. Four weeks ago we contacted Bruce to look at the gutters because of frequent jams over the front door. He told us he would try to see us the next day----we haven't seen or spoken to him since---even after we left a message on his recorder two weeks ago. After looking at the gutter covers ourselves we discovered that he had not installed them the full length of the gutter. There is a large gap where the gutters meet over our front door---it was filled with debri. This is not what we paid for!!! Very unprofessional and absolutely no follow up.

    Twin Cities Siding Professionals
I have given this a long period of time before reviewing to be sure my perspective is as objecive as possible. If you are going to use this provider: 1) be sure you get dates in the contract-when they will start and how long it will take-we were to have this done in 2013 but got delayed so long we waited for spring 2014 and they still did not start until June. It then took several weeks to complete-so long that materials on our lawn killed the grass underneath 2)if you really want a general contractor-these aren't the people. They really want to sell you siding-all other services are negotiated separately ie roof, gutters, electrical 3)be sure someone is monitoring the crew-our neighbors reported someone sleeping in a truck outside our home while the rest of the crew worked 4)be VERY careful if you are considering the Hardie ColorPlus siding. Out of the box and on our house it looked uneven in color and coating as though it had been there a number of years. We were told by the hardie rep to "let it weather".Why would you pay extra money for something that doesn't look right from the beginning? Tour some homes with NEW recent siding to see if you like the finish before you spend all that money. 5) The person who installed our new doors did it incorrectly-modifications were made but it is too low to have any kind of rug clearance at the front door. Our home looks very nice in the right light. If the sun is shining wrong you can see the uneven surface which wil bother me always. We will spend this spring either putting in new sod or seed where areas of our grass were killed. We essentially had a summer where I could not do gardenng around the house because everything was so drawn out. I would not use these people again.

    The Construction Group Inc
Scott was wonderful to work with, I would highly recommend him and his crew.  Very responsible, reliable and professional.  We got three bids for our gutter install and he was comparably priced and used higher quality materials.  After the gutters were installed, we had a couple minor issues with water runoff and Scott was quick to get his crew out here to resolve the issue.  We are very happy with the service we received and we wouldn't hesitate to call on The Construction Group for future projects with our home.
