  • The technician at Device Pitstop copied all the files on my hard drive, reinstalled the operating system to the factory setting, did all the updates and copied all the files from my hard drive back to my computer. When they were finished, all I had to do was to reinstall my programs and the computer was good to go. I also had them replace a keyboard that was not responding properly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as the best technical support in the metropolitan area.

  • I called technical reinforcements and set up a time for one of their techs to come out to my home and transfer files from my old computer running windows XP to a new computer that was running Windows 7. The tech that came out was Tom and he arrived at the scheduled time for our meeting and he started right to work. Tom took the time to explain what he was going to be doing and asked for my input and then offered suggestions to ensure everything would go as planned. He was very knowledgeable in computers and I just sat back and watched him work. There was a lot of downloading of files that Tom had to do so rather then sitting there while this was taking place he suggested that he come back to finish the job another day and we agreed. Tom cam back a week later and after adding some more programs he was finished with the job and he told me that if I had any problems to give him a call and he will help me out. Tom was courteous, knowledgeable, and very helpful, so I will definitely use Technical Reinforcements in the future for any of my computing needs.

  • Found him on Angie's list. Cost was much less than the other place I checked. $130.00 for two hrs. Came an hour late but called and in this type of field I understood. Had to call 3 times for directions. I Also understood. Seemed very nice. I spent hrs. to get the screens the way I needed them to find things again easily . He said it would be fine and everything I wanted would be there and the way I would understand it. He was hear about 2hrs and 45min. He rushed through things and said he didn't work a lot with printer setup and that they were all different. Did a test read out but not an actual test to be sure fax on printer actually worked, Did not go through what he put in the computer, what computer name I was setup for etc. Only used the new cables if old didn't fit. Said he had to go and I asked if I could call him if I needed questions answered because it did not look or work the way he told me it would and he said of course any time. Convinced me that the security I was using and another very important program did not work very well and convinced me to buy System Mechanic for $40.00 that I found out later was his download and I could not use it and when I called to try and set it up I would have to buy it again. Also paid him $40.00 for Webroot that I found out I only had 331 days left to use. Another one of his downloads. He didn't give me a backup disk for either and now I know why. Then to top it off I paid a neighbor kid friend of mine to help me set it up and I worked hrs. and hrs. call after call to try and get my fax to work properly. I called him many times desperate for help and he has just ignored all my please for help letting it go to voice mail every time. I not only had $80.00 taken from me for a software that I could not use and for a temp software that I now don't trust. I spent hrs. talking with others on the phone to help me set up the plugins correctly and to get the fax to work so I could use the fax and computer that was not set up right. I had to do all that work and more to set things up correctly and paid him too! To do all the plugins and set up and get the fax to run took me 3 days and I am still not sure if he did everything that needed to be entered into the computer correctly. Because of the nightmare I went through I of course don't trust anything he did. I know nothing about how to navigate through all the set up questions etc. That's why I hired someone. Sorry about the spelling (I wish they would put spell check on this).  I'm very tired and physically hurting after all of the things I had to do to fix things the best I could. I will be needing to hire someone else to go over what Derrick Clifton did to have peace of mind and get things back to the way I showed him when he came so I can find and use things again the way I use to.


    • Update 9.6.13: I would to address the company response with my own rebuttal. 
    • They said that they added ventilation to my garage because I said it was too hot and they say they did it at no extra charge.~ This is untrue, they were supposed to put in on the house roof.  When I asked them why they put them on the garage, I was told it was because of city code. I was then told they added ventilation to my house attic because the attic was so hot.  The insurance company paid for that. They made a mistake on the roof and they are trying to cover their tracks. The city inspector came out and before I had a chance to comment on the 2 vents in garage the city inspector commented that it had nothing to do with code and they don't need to be there. To which I responded "Tell me about it". Jason Barnhouse told me they were going to add 2 vents to the house roof because when he was in the attic of the house it was too hot.
    • They said we could call another roofing company in order to double check their work. ~ On 9.5.13 I had a GAF certified contractor come out and inspect their work. They found that the dip edge, Barnhouse was paid full to put all the way around the house per insurance paperwork.  Money they pocketed from the insurance company, still needs completed on the rest of the house.  They just did the back.  They thought I wouldn't know and I didn't until I brought in the GAF certified contractor into inspect.  There are six nails not 4 nails per GAF warranty still need to be put in for the warranty to be good. The chimney cap is so banged up you can see it from the street. The GAF certified contractor even commented on it because he could see it.  He said it needs to be replaced and done in quality. The antenna needs to be secured correctly and so I get good reception.  The GAF certified contractor and I mentioned the work was not done correctly or even finished. and they were the ones trying cheat the insurance company. No wonder they didn't allow me to look at my roof and ask questions about it. 
    • Basically I am finding their comments to be lies and they are accusing me of the same misconduct they are perpetrating. 
    • This is not a great roof.
    • I have tried to resolve these problems by myself without outside assistance.  
    • If you read above you will understand my safety and quality concerns for them to fix their work at this point. I have 125 minutes of one of the Barnhouse yelling on me recorded. 
    • At this point I am extremely concerned with their threats on my property.

  • They have been good and we have been very pleased. His prices are reasonable. He comes out and takes a look at it and if it needs repairs he takes it to his shop. He then delivers it once it’s been repaired. He will try to repair it at your house first, though.

  • It appeared that Andre went through the computer thoroughly and the computer has been working reliably since he left.  He recommended that we run the new Defraggler program overnight since it would take several hours.  That was good advice since it took about 12 hours to defrag the disk.  He scheduled three hours for this work but finished in less time than that and had plenty of time to answer questions.  We feel it was well worth the $119 price to have this work done.  We feel we had a very good tech go through our computer.  Andre instills confidence, and we are happy to know about Psinergy when we run into future problems.  We called another company before deciding to go with Psinergy, and that company recommended that our computer was not worth putting money into since it is about ten years old.  We appreciate that Andre was willing to work on our old computer and save us the cost of replacing it.

  • We were having problems with slow wireless on our computer.  First tech did some things, but it didn't improve much.  We waited a month and contacted them again.  They sent out a different tech, and so far things seem to be working well.

  • Dave arrived when he said he would and did some general diagnostics before adding the virus protection.  Dave has been out here once before, and he is very fair about his fees.  He charged us for only an hour even though he was here longer than that.  One of the things that I do not like about Dave is that he does not share a lot of information or answer questions directly.  Because of that and because he seems to tinker (my word for it) a lot, I do not always understand what he is doing, and that makes me nervous.
    Since Dave installed the virus protection, certain aspects of our system run very slowly.  Because I am reluctant to call him back, we have been putting up with that.  It could be that we need more computer power to handle the Norton software, which I expect is the piece that slows down our system so much.  
    I have delayed writing this review because Dave is an extremely nice guy who appears to know what he is doing.  However, I do not want to be dependent on a provider every time some little thing goes wrong with our computer, and since Dave does not share any insights, I don't learn anything from him that helps me trouble-shoot small problems myself.  In other words, I was hesitant to write a negative review about him, especially considering that the processing problems we have may be issues that we can only resolve by upgrading our equipment.  Although I indicated that we would not use him again, I might reconsider that if I can figure out a way express my concerns so that I am comfortable he is the right person to have working on our system.  
    To be fair to Dave, we have a more protected computer because of his work so he did take care of the immediate issue that prompted our call to him, which he also did the last time we used him.    The slowness of the system may be out of his control because of the capacity of our computer.

  • Brought my I-pod in for repair. They ended up replacing it at no cost. My Ipod is the only apple product I own so far. over all I had a good experience at the apple store. a bit of a wait at the store and had to reserve to get repair service using their web site. but was treated well at the store.
