  • I want to say thank you to Craftsmen Home Improvement for an excellent project. The entire team from Sales (Erik Daehlin), Customer Service (Kim Burdine) to our window crew of Jim Knauf, Tom Burdine, Steve, Tyler and Jake were stellar. The entire team is professional, excellent communicators. They did the job on time in budget to our expectations. They all went beyond expectations to ensure that the project was successful in addition, while here they consulted with us on other window issues and provided expertise in trying to resolve the issue while they were here and provided recommendations when that proved not possible. Despite an 85+ degree day and an old three story house they worked tirelessly to install 10 windows in a single day. I was impressed with their stamina and focus to complete this. They all were polite, clean and cleaned up behind themselves as they worked in multiple rooms on three floors. Thank you all,

  • We partnered with Executive Remodeling to finish the basement in our 1925 house that had never been finished. The basement was a difficult job due to the intricacies that come with an old house remodel. The work was completed about one month ago and we were amazed at the finished result. We had Executive add a family room, full bathroom, laundry room, and partially finished storage area and they exceeded every expectation we had and completely transformed the space. The ownership at Executive Remodeling changed hands right at the beginning of our project, so we were concerned when this happened, but stuck with them. The new and current ownership went above and beyond in discussing any detail or needed change to our project, gave at least one status update per week about the work completed that week and the plan for the following week, and stopped by our house countless times while the project was in progress to ensure that all sub-contractors did a satisfactory job. There were multiple occasions where Executive found a piece of work done by a sub-contractor that didn't fully meet their expectations and they called the sub-contractor back to ensure the work was completed in a satisfactory manner without us having to get involved or even noticing. As with any remodel, there were a few times when an unexpected cost occurred, but Executive explained the cost to us, the pros and cons of having the work done, and in some cases, even offered to share in the costs when it was a detail that was maybe over-looked or could've been discussed more thoroughly. I would recommend these guys for any home improvement job you are considering. We didn't know them going into our project and were apprehensive about that, but the team at Executive did a great job of building and earning our trust. We currently are working with them on an another potential front porch addition project. We strongly recommend them and their work ethic is second to none.

  • I can't say enough about Egress Window Guy. I originally submitted an online estimate, but due to some complexities of the install needed a closer look. Don came out to my home and helped size everything up and left me feeling confident they were qualified and would be easy to communicate with. Come installation day, the guys were professional, quick and did a quality job.

  • The installation went very well. Lloyd was extremely responsive and accommodating to my schedule. He work with the city to get the permit. It was a 2-day installation and everything looks great. I really appreciate the work he did.

  • Ben Downey from Patrick Miller construction came out. He was very informative. He suggested I could use the dirt dug up as additional insulation around our foundation in other areas. He was very thorough. The work was scheduled. The fellows came out. Everything was done per our agreement. I was particularly happy that the workers cleaned the area very thoroughly after the work was complete. I am a very satisfied customer.

  • EXCELLENT. Upon inspection, they discovered the same issue we did. They stayed as long as it took to understand the issue and, ostensibly, were only there to offer an estimate. However, they actually fixed the issue and we never needed the estimate. I would highly highly recommend Pane in the Glass. Great problem solving. Professional. Informative. Courteous.

  • Everything went great! They were able to come out and do an estimate within a week or so. The work was scheduled out a few weeks after that and everything looks great. The workers were courteous and considerate of my property; they walked me thru the process as they were doing it and had me inspect the work before they left.

  • I'm very pleased with the work Lloyd did for me. Out of three estimates he was the best value when you factored in well size, outside and inside trim work, cost of permit being included, etc. but what really sealed the deal is this is Lloyd's only offering -- he only installs egress windows and he does it well!  Aside from being a likable guy, he was prompt, professional, and maintained very good communication throughout the process all the way from estimate to completion of the job.  He did the work for me in November -- we were delayed one day due to a heavy snow. The snowfall was followed by some very cold temps and I assumed Lloyd would want to delay the job but to my surprise he called and said to expect him in the morning. Lloyd told me my job was one of the most difficult he'd done to date and it took a couple hours longer than planned on the final day, yet he stuck to his initial estimate and the finished product was great. I've recommended him to two family members already; my niece for her new (first) home and my brother-in-law, who does general contracting and was in need of this work for one of his clients. I'd hire Lloyd again in a minute. As a side note, I'm very happy I went with the timber well with a planter integrated in the step -- it's such a nice view from inside the finished basement. One of the best bang-for-the-buck improvements I've done on the house.

  • I must confess we got a great deal from Damian and he was professional and ethical throughout the process. Let me tell the story.
My wife and I, not knowing what the cost would be, wanted to put a new block window in our basement. It wasn't the most standard job because it required not just cutting through foundation but also our driveway (and therefore re-pouring cement once the window was installed). We felt like it was a $1500 job. I got two estimates, one from Damian's company and one from someone else. The estimates were widely different....Damian's was $1300 and the other company was nearly $3000. Given the discrepancy, I personally reached out to the estimators who had been here, re-explained exactly what we wanted to do, and that we wanted the estimate to reflect the entire job, not simply just putting in a window. Both estimators stood by their estimates. I'm not one to go with the absolutely lowest estimate usually but I was conflicted because Damian's company really does have the best reviews on Angie's list overall when it comes to basement window installation. So I went with Greene Construction-we signed a contract, I put in a down payment, and work was supposed to start in very early June.
On the day of the installation, Damian arrived and quickly realized that the estimator--who I learned at this time had been fired due to inaccurate estimates--had vastly underestimated the size of the job. It was then clear to me that the job really was around $3000, or what my second estimate told me. However, I had already put in a down payment, signed a contract, and even gave the estimator (whose experience I didn't know) a second chance to change his estimate! So it seemed to me that, unfortunately for Greene Construction, we had a deal that I was going to greatly benefit from. I was basically getting 50% off.
From early June to mid-August, I waited for Greene Construction to order the window, get the permits, and get everything in place. It took a very long time, and I called Damian several times during that period to see when it was going to happen. I asked for specific time frames but was disappointed when they never came to fruition and never heard from Damian as to why there was a delay. So I had to keep calling to get an idea. At the same time, I couldn't really be that upset because I knew I was getting a great deal.
Damian, while bummed about the estimator's error, kept his head high the entire time. He insisted that he had to keep up his integrity and honor the deal...he was right, after all, because we signed a legal document and Greene Construction had already taken money from me as a deposit. He was entirely professional except for the delay, and I really don't blame him because I'd be bummed too knowing I'm going to lose money on a job.
The work was finally done in late August, and it was done in one day. The guys who came were great and jackhammered the driveway and foundation, put in the window well and glass block basement window, and cleaned up the mess. I LOVE the new window and the light that it lets into a space in the basement that had no light before. It's rained several times since and no problem! I fed the crew lunch when they were here, because in a way, I owed them and the company. I also talked to Damian after the job was done to express my happiness and also let him know something I was considering the whole time....although the contract was for $1300, I would be willing to pay $1500, which represented the maximum amount my wife and I were willing to spend on the project. Damian was very gracious even though I know even that amount didn't make him whole.
In the future we will dig out a basement bedroom and install two egress windows. I will certainly get estimates from Greene Construction again when that time comes, and I'll make sure I talk and joke with Damian about how the estimates should be right! I am likely to use Greene Construction again-a company that does great work and has an owner who is good to his customers and has great integrity.

  • Nick and John were very professional during the entire process of the egress window install.  They were always on time and extremely courteous. The dirt that resulted from the dig in the yard was carefully placed where we requested, as was any sawdust from the yard where the cutting was done.  They also took special care not to get too much dust in the room where they were working, and cleaned up behind them very well.  The job they performed was of high quality and professionally done.  Even the inspector commented on what a nice job they had done. We would definitely recommend these guys for any work someone may need done, and would use them ourselves for any future jobs.
