    K & S Heating and Air Conditioning
    1) Annual service on air conditioner and furnace. This went smoothly and easily. People sent were punctual and polite. 2) Replacement of ceiling exhaust fans in 2 bathrooms. K&S originally sent out electricians (who could not do the duct work part). From the phone conversation, K&S thought was needed replacement for ceiling fans in 2 of our bathrooms (the kind of ceiling fans with with flat, spinning blades), as opposed to the replacement of exhaust fans in the bathroom ceilings. The initial electricians who came to the home were very apologetic and helped to arrange for the correct K&S individuals to come out on a different day. The change in day was an inconvenience, but the final service was well done when the 2nd group was sent out later to do the work. I wish I would not have needed to be waiting at home on the 2nd attempt, but the individuals were polite, professional, pleasant, etc. 3) Replaement of water heater. The K&S water heater individual came out to the home and gave helpful advice in choosing a size, type and model of water heater. I felt comfortable with the choice of water heater and with K&S proceeding with the service. (His rough guess was $1000 for heater but he did not have exact pricing). He was then going to email me exact prices by 1 pm that afternoon (for the water heater plus labor cost of installing it and removing the old one) so that we could officially proceed. I never ended up hearing back from him. Over the next 2-3 weeks, I called K&S a number of times re: pricing and planning for next steps, leaving 3 messages on this specific individual's identified voice mail (I had his card). I also left 2 messages with the K&S general number itself -- one of which supposedly resulted in an email to the individual with his supervisor CC'd. Before thelack of communication and response, I had been comfortable enough to proceed with K&S for water heater replacement without getting any extra bids, very happy to not need to miss more time away from work in order to be home for other companies to come. I also liked the idea of having multiple services all centralized to and coordinated by one company. Another 2 more weeks have now passed. A competitor will now be coming out to our home in less than an hour. It was one thing to misunderstand what type of fan might be located in someone's bathroom and to then send the wrong types of service people out. Who knows, maybe I phrased things in a funny way over the phone. However, it was really the lack of communication over the water heater that has changed which company we will reach out to for heating, AC, plumbing and/or electrical service needs in the future. Feel free to share this review with K&S. If helpful to them, I would be willing to talk more with them

    INTEGRITY HOME REPAIR
    Integrity's owner - Mr. Jay Gay can be quite charming and pleasant. I liked and trusted Mr. Gay. I wanted this business deal to be a win-win. Unfortunately, Mr. Gay intentually withheld critical information and used bullying techniques when he was caught in deceptive trade practices. Mr. Jay Gay tried to pass off a USED AC unit as a NEW AC unit, he falsified the AHRI Certification document, he falsified the RPU Rebate form and he falsified his invoice making it "appear" a NEW 15 SEER AC unit system was installed, whereas, it was not. Red Flags: Mr. Jay Gay refused to let me look at, or take the paperwork from the box he delivered the AC unit in. He grabbed the paperwork from my hand and put it inside his trunk. Mr. Gay refused to leave me the AC manual. I repeatedly asked Mr. Gay for all the paperwork for all the equipment installed. When I asked clarifying questions, Mr. Gay said, "You ask too many questions. Most customers don't care about the things your are asking, they (customers) just want their manufacturer warranty and RPU rebate." August 4, 2017 - *8:15 AM I meet Mr. Jay Gay to discuss a fair market reduction in the overall price based upon the lack of full disclosure, installing a USED exterior AC unit and an interior coil unit that did not meet the 15 SEER AHRI Certification. Mr. Gay admitted he did all the above, However, he refused to negotiate a fair market value reduction for the actual equipment installed and used bullying techniques to get me to pay him full price for something that was not installed. Mr. Gay abruptly left our negotiating meeting. Without notice to me, at approximately 3:30 PM (Friday August 4th - same day), Mr. Gay, trespassed onto my property and CUT the exterior AC unit from my house resulting in damages to the house, AC line set and AC electrical line. A report with the Rochester MN police department was filed. Mr. Gay installed this AC unit on Tuesday July 11, 2017 and ripped it out of the my house on Friday August 4, 2017. A complaint was also filed with MN Attorney General - Ms. Lori Swanson. In addition, Rochester Public Utilities (RPU) about the falsified RPU Rebate Form and they began an investigation. According to RPU, other customers' RPU rebate forms (looked at 2017 only) and invoices from Integrity HVAC (looked at 2017 only) were falsified (installed equipment serial numbers did not match the manufacturer model numbers listed on the following forms: RPU Rebate form, ARHI certification or Integrity HVAC's invoice. In conclusion, according to RPU, it appears most customers of Integrity HVAC were unaware they did not receive the energy efficient systems they thought they purchased and their HVAC systems do not meet the RPU rebate criteria. In addition, some customers reported they did not see the RPU rebate form nor personally sign the RPU rebate forms prior to it being submitted to RPU by Integrity - Mr. Jay Gay.

    Jamie gave us the good news and bad news. They also did a refrigerant charge on my old unit to get us by until they were able to install the new AC and furnace. Also caught the need for grounding of our gas line to bring it up to current building code.

    The install was rescheduled by them three times--after taking work off each time. The unit was installed and was not tested before sub-contractor left the job site stating that it was in working order. The unit did not cool or dehumidify the room. After calling the sub-contractor, they came out but spent three hours on-site, not able to determine the problem. They now need to find technical support to try to determine why the compressor won't engage. I asked for the unit to be replaced as it was brand new and should be in working order, not defective. The problem has not yet been resolved so I have paid for the unit in full and have an installed unit that does not function!

    K&S sent a technician the same day with no extra charge and the technician stayed until the central heating worked again. He replaced the igniter and the circuit board. It was pricey (approx. $550) but he also could have charged more, considering a family cannot live without heat in MN. The technician was polite and hard working. Overall, it was a positive experience and I will keep K&S in mind for future needs.

    A new thermostat was installed by DIY and it was not hooked up correctly so the air conditioning system did not have cool air. Called their service and they said someone would be there at noon but ended up getting there over 1PM. The biggest surprise is when we got the bill. It was $118 dollars for this easy fix. The person spent 45 minutes even after he was told a new thermostat was installed (a big hint, anyone would check the thermostat first and find the problem on the spot, but...!). They literally charge by minutes! It's $70 for the first 15 mins, then each 15 for another 24 dollars....so if you have one hour service they would charge almost $150, the double amount of the regular charge by other providers in the area. This simple problem could be fixed easily but it turned out too expensive! Although we had good experience with their installation before (trying to be a loyal customer), this was a huge disappointment. Think twice or avoid their repair call service! The review is for their Rochester location.

    I called on a Saturday looking for a replacement part for my AC unit. Steve indicated that he was currently at the shop for another customer and that I could stop down and get the part I needed outside of business hours. Hugely appreciated this with no AC and 90 degree heat!

    Replaced my old Bryant central air unit last summer 2014. It took the technician ALL DAY to replace it. The inspection failed twice and to my knowledge never passed. Now one year later, my ac is out completely. They charged me a service fee to come and spray my outside unit off with my water and hose; only for them to tell me that the inside coil is leaking and needs to be replaced. I reminded them that it was only 1 year old. There reply is that only the parts are under warranty. I will need to cover the labor costs.

    I am very sorry to the people that i have already steered towards this crooked business.
