    Fair Repair and Remodel
Great service, very knowledgeable, honest, and gets the work done in a timely fashion. Work has included a lot of electrical, some landscaping (looked better than what a landscaping company did) and misc items around the house. Has done a great job each and every time. Highly recommend him to friends, clients and family.

Not only did the work we requested turn out great (especially since it required some creativity), but after the installation we were sent pictures of how it turned out, which was very helpful since we live out of state. He also suggested that the old soffits and gutters needed cleaning since the contrast with the new clean ones showed the dirt more. He offered to do that work also and was able to fit us in quickly for it. We were kept in the loop throughout every stage of the process and all work was done thoroughly and professionally.

    Jim's Residential Handyman Services
It took a couple weeks to hear from him. When he came, he said he could do all projects. A couple weeks later, he came and took care of the kitchen cabinets. He wanted to delay the next project, kitchen flooring by 2-3 weeks. I had a deadline and, although, quite a bit of time had lapsed, was willing to delay. Well, I ordered the materials and contacted him, and he said he couldn't honor our previously set date. By that time it was a good six weeks since the first time I contacted him. I couldn't wait any longer so I decided to find someone else. Work quality was excellent. It's just a shame I couldn't rely on him to complete these projects in the agreed upon time frame. If you're really, really flexible on the timing of your project, the work is very good.

Jay bid and agreed to install a hot water heater and repair a small portion of drywall and trim behind the water heater. It was not my choice to use him, he was agreed upon as part of a house sale agreement. Since we were under time constraints I figured I'd give him a chance to earn my future business. I had to call him several times over the course of a month to get him to commit to a day and time to fix my issue. Jay showed up on the agreed upon day (Friday) and time and performed what I initially thought was a complete and good job. After finishing the agreed upon work, Jay stated that it ended up being a lot less work then when he initially bid the job and was really quite easy. I was happy to hear this as I thought he would charge less then what was bid. Fast forward to two days later (Sunday). I happened to walk by my water softener unit and water was flowing out of the top of the unit. After closer inspection, Jay had taken it upon himself to completely reconfigure the drainage system of the water softener without consulting me. Keep in mind, there was nothing wrong with the drainage system as it was set up and it worked without any issue. In order to stop the leaking I had to manually remove the water out of the water softener with a cup so it didn't flow onto the floor. I texted and called Jay to see if he could walk me through what the problem may be, he didn't reply. Once the water was removed from the softener I was able to find the problem. It was the drainage system that Jay had changed without permission. I was able to temporarily fix the problem after about 2.5 hours of manually dumping water from the softener into my wash machine to prevent it from going into the floor as the softener was cycling. On my final attempt to reach Jay, I let him know that I had diagnosed the problem. He finally replied to my text and it was agreed that he would come back and fix the drainage setup right away in the morning. Jay showed up at the agreed upon time and was very rude and defensive about what he had die. I asked him why he had changed the drainage set up without my permission. He said that he had taken it upon himself to change because he knew the buyers of the property would want it that way. (This was untrue as the buyers had agreed in writing to the fixes of the drywall, trim, and water heater replacement. The was no mention of the water softener). I told him again about how I had to spend 2.5 hours fixing something that he was not authorized to change. I asked him if he could help me out on the cost of the initial work. This seemed like a reasonable request since he had stated it was less work then he thought when he initially bid it and he had created a problem that was not previously there by performing an unauthorized change of the drainage setup. He immediate said "If you don't pay me the full amount, I'll put a mechanics lien on your property. That'll mess up your sale." I never said that I wasn't going to pay him, I just wanted him to understand the problems that his unauthorized changing of the drainage system had caused. Jay continued to make comments as he was working about mechanics liens, ripping the work out, and just leaving with out fixing his mistake. Jay changed the drainage system again but it's still not back to the original. When I came home from work after he had left the water softener was cycling. It was STILL leaking on the floor. I had to spend another hour sealing the drainage system so it wouldn't leak anymore. In short, he changed a fully functioning drainage system without my permission that caused a leak and made repairs outside of the pre-agreed bid. I had to complete the job because of his workmanship. I would not recommend Jay for any home repairs. He will not stand by his work and will become rude and threatening when questioned. This all because of something he did on his own without permission and outside of an agreed upon bid.

Full disclosure: Jay installed used gutters, not new gutters, on the front of our house. He reviewed all of the gutter components prior to installation and it all passed his inspection. Jay installed gutters on the front of our house on 10/13/15. Unfortunately they leaked at all the joints and the last 1/3 of the gutter doesn't fully drain. I emailed Jay on 11/11/15 re the leak. He emailed on 11/22/15 and said he drove by the previous week to look. I emailed him on 12/30/15 and he did not respond. Since it was winter, I figured it was too cold to fix anything, so I emailed him on 4/29/16. His response: "Unfortunately I can not warranty material that was installed and used. The gutter clips and joints are missing and or have dried up cracked seals. Although I caulked when installed and as a courtesy caulked again it may be wise to just get a real 5" k style gutter installed." I emailed him on 6/6/16 asking for clarification about missing components since he approved everything before installation. No response. I emailed Jay on 6/20/16 with a video of the gutter leaking. Jay responded on 6/22/16 and asked if I had checked that the gutters weren't plugged up. I emailed on 6/23/16 and said I had unplugged the downspout 3+ weeks prior. Jay responded on 6/23/16 and said "I suggest u get a real seamless gutter installed." I emailed him twice since June 2016 and proposed he send me a small refund ($15) which would cover the necessary supplies for me to fix the problem and I wouldn't bother him anymore. He never responded. His suggestions that I purchase new gutters was not acceptable. I expected more from a business named Integrity. FYI #1: during the install he said this was only his 3rd gutter install. In one of his emails he recommended a different guy for gutters next time. FYI #2: I purchased supplies at Menards and fixed the leaks myself.

It went quite well. While it took several weeks until is was done and all the issues were resolved (the door didn't fit, the outside corner boards needed to be reattached with longer nails/screws), Trevor took care of everything in a professional manner. He works in a conscientious and detailed-oriented manner and strives to find solutions that the homeowner can live with.

Jeff Steiner Home Repair & Remodel LLC
I can only assume that he did not want the job but could not come out and refuse it. I would never call Jeff again. Because I had a very good experience when I first had Jeff do my garbage disposal, I gave him several chances to get involved with this second job. I would have been satisfied if Jeff had come out directly and said he did not want the job, However, he just kept beating around the bush until i decided that further contact was fruitless.

It went very well  -  everyone who sees the remodeled bathrooms is impressed.  The provider showed up on time, kept me informed of time, dates and progress.  I was able to leave the house for the provider to come and go without any concerns.  The quality of the work was professional with extraordinary attention to details......corners are square, cuts are precise, no flaws to be found. Even though the work spanned a couple months, the "mess" was kept to a minimum and I appreciated that since the work spanned the holiday season.
I also appreciated the creative side of the provider.  It is hard for me to visualize how some idea or plan is going to look.  Trevor spent time with me discussing the best way to lay the tile; took careful measurements to make sure the design would work, and the results show that.
I would certainly use this contractor again for future projects!

Jeff Steiner Home Repair & Remodel LLC

He provided an estimate that was the least expensive of all contractors we contacted (less than $1,000).

However this contractor's integrity and honesty was poor.

We also asked for a separate estimate for additional work in the same area of the water damage that was not related to the water damage repair.  We would pay out-of-pocket for this additional repair.  He said he could "just add it in" to the insurance estimate and nobody would know about it.

We did not select this contractor for the repair work.  And the estimate we did accept came around $7,000.
