    AUTOMOTIVE PROCARE
The last time I went there I had my front brakes fixed because they were warped, had a tie rod replaced that was loose, installed new tires put and had an alignment completed. I used the shuttle to get a ride to Mayo and they also picked me up from work.

    Tilson Automotive Service Center
About a year prior, they let me know that the subframe was starting to rust quite a bit, and that replacement would be necessary at some point. Last summer (July 2015), they said the subframe was no longer secured safely and needed replacement before any other trips. Joe showed me the damage and explained clearly what would need to be done at minimum. He provided a quote for it, but the car was already in a bad place in general. The cost of the repair was comparable to any other quotes I could find, and I have grown to place trust and confidence in Tilson for thier craftsmanship and attention to detail. We opted not to complete the repair at the time because ultimately, the repair cost was higher than the worth of the car. We traded and upgraded.

Two things stand out most with my experiences at Tilson: It is a quintessential family run business with the best customer service I've received in any industry. The work done was always timely, communicated clearly to me and my wife, and when decisions needed to be made, Tilson always called, talked it through, and allowed us to decide what steps to take. I highly recommend making Tilson the primary car care provider for anyone in the area.

Note: They have a new location now at: 1740 South Broadway AvenueRochester MN 55904; Phone: 507-282-4924

    Dee's Auto Care Specialists

My daughter's 2003 Ford Tarus stopped working in subzero weather. Someone helped get it started and she took it to Dee's. They checked it over reporting that it only needed to have the terminals cleaned/tightened on the battery and another electrical connection. They were very courteous and charged her nothing for taking care of it. This was especially magnanimous of them considering the number of other weather related business they were dealing with.

Scheduled an appointment, they were ready to go when I got there. Had all parts to do the work on my car. Satisfied with the work they did and the price. Offered to give me a ride but I declined. Clean waiting area, wifi and a good cup of coffee while you wait. Overall a good experience.

This business engages in bait and switch.
They sent me two coupons: one for an oil change for $19.99 and one for a tire rotation/brake check for $9.99, so I took the car in for those services.
When I showed my coupons to the service person he said I could only use one, so I said okay, I'll pay full price for the tire rotation--which was about $20.
When I came back for the car, the total price was over $60.  In addition, the sign out front was advertising a $19.95 oil change for everyone (ie not just with a coupon).
I asked for an explanation and they called the service manager, Aaron Rudlong.  Mr. Rudlong walked me through the very fine print on the coupons and told me that my car uses synthetic oil which is not covered by the special deal.  I told him I thought this and the other small print was deceptive: I bought my car there and the coupon they sent me did not apply to my car.
As he walked away from me he made a rude comment for me to hear.
The paperwork they gave me gives no indication that they checked the brakes, as they were supposed to do.
I got their standard "thank you, we will be sending you a satisfaction survey" email, but no survey.  It seems they get their high satisfaction rating by eliminating the disgruntled customers.
I won't do business with them again.

    DIERCKS BROTHERS
My experience went very well. I was very pleased with the timeliness of service, the quality of work and the cost. I have trusted my cars to Dierck's repair tor many years and based on consistently high quality work at fair prices I will keep returning. The shop is always busy with customers who, like me, have come to depend upon Bard's technical competence, honesty, and business integrity.

They always are friendly and professional. They say their customers are now part of the family and you really do get treated that way. When I used their car wash and didn't time the blow-dry very well, the gentleman who sold me the car got a towel and wiped it down for me......all at no extra charge. I highly recommend this dealership.

    Tom Kadlec Honda
I was impressed by their honesty in not charging us for a more expensive service. We had gotten new tires at another shop but the vehicle had a vibration thereafter, even after the vehicle was taken back to have the tires rotated. Honda not only fixed the vibration, they only charged us a minimal amount.

    Babcock Auto Care

I had a 10:30 appointment that I scheduled two days ago to have my vehicle aligned.  I showed up 30-minutes early.   I was greeted warmly and given a membership information kit to fill out for future discounts.  There was a gentleman who had "walked in" for alignment service, so the rack was busy.  While I was filling out the information kit, I was told that they could shuttle me home as it might take a bit before my car would be ready.  I asked how long before my car would be serviced and was given a very nebulous answer, "It could take 30-minutes or longer depending upon what they find."  I had been told it could take up to 1-1/2 hours to do my vehicle when I made the appointment.

I agreed to have them shuttle me home.  I arrived home about 10:35.  At 12:40, I called to see if my car was done.  I was placed on hold and then the person who answered asked what I needed again.  I asked again whether my car was finished and after a brief pause was told that my car wasn't quite finished yet.  I asked what the delay was but the person answering couldn't tell me.  She asked when I needed my car and I told her in about 30-minutes as I had an appointment.  She said she would check and call me back.  I was called back at 1:10 and informed that the car wouldn't be done in 30-minutes (25-minutes had already elapsed) and that they were sending the shuttle to pick me up.

The shuttle arrived at 1:30 and the driver was apologetic about my having a challenge with getting the service finished on time.  When we arrived at the service center at about 1:50, I noticed that my car was in the same location I had left it earlier.  I went inside and was informed that my car had not been done.  I told them I had to take the car, that I had re-scheduled my appointment and needed to get there.  Another service person got my keys and told me that they were sorry that my vehicle hadn't been serviced.  He offered a "loaner" truck while they worked on my vehicle.  I told him thanks but that I had to be on my way and I would get the alignment done later.  He wanted to know where I would go and I told him I would find a place.  He then offered to do the alignment for free.

He seemed a bit mad that I seemingly didn't accept his apology for not servicing my vehicle in a timely manner.  I told him that if they were having a challenge with the other vehicle they were attempting to align; someone should have notified me by telephone to tell me that there was a delay.  It should not have been my responsibility to call and find out the status of my service.  Not to be told when I did call that, in fact, service on my vehicle had not even started was very wrong.

I left Babcock Auto Care and stopped at another service location and made an appointment to have my vehicle aligned this coming Friday.

I will not have any service done at Babcock Auto Care ever and I will dissuade any friends who ask about having service done there from doing so.  For a first-time customer to be treated in this manor was inexcusable.

They were friendly and responsive on the phone call and gave me a good time estimate.  They called as requested when they were on their way.  Quick, professional, friendly service and gave advice to stop by for free battery check to ensure battery was not in need of charge or replacement.
    Great Job!
