    Complete Custom Painting
It was very well done and we were greatly impressed with both teams professionalism, responsiveness and timeliness on getting all the jobs done. We are looking to have them do more work for us on a few other rooms now as we were so happy with the previous work. If you are looking for great work at a reasonable price - this is the right company to work with!!

    Jim Bird Painting
This is a follow-up on my experience with Jim Bird. Jim ignored me for several months and then in January 2019 he claimed he had insurance that would cover the cost of replacing my damaged front door. He sent me directly to his insurance claim agent and it was from her that I learned that Jim wasn't insured for his subs...only for himself. When confronted, he said he would negotiate a payment plan with the lumberyard to replace my door. But when the lumberyard called me with the concern that Jim had offered to pay a very small amount each month, I realized he wasn't serious. I finally took him to small claims court where I won. Jim still didn't pay me within the required time, so I took the next step in requesting a list of Jim's assets. He called one day after that and came to my door with a cashier's check. Jim has told me he's learned his lesson. I'm sure Jim does have some qualified subs, so if you do business with him, just make sure at the least that his bid isn't a lot lower than others you have received and that he shows proof of liability insurance for his subs.

    NewDay LLC / NewDay Painting
Kurt was able to work while we were out of town for the winter. We gave him access to the house on his schedule which did not disrupt our schedule. In the coldest weeks of February, he was able to reassure us that the pipes were not frozen and the heat was on. When we returned in May, the work was done and we were ready to show our home which recently sold. We think the colors Kurt recommended enhanced the appearance of the house and welcomed prospective buyers. We would highly recommend his company after the 2 jobs he did for us.

MGE did a great job! Mike, the owner. was friendly, courteous, and explained everything clearly from the beginning so there were no surprises. These were huge projects (lower level was flooded and needed complete restoration. Because of the efficient way that Mike and his excellent crew and sub-contractors worked, things went smoothly. I would gladly recommend Mike and MGE Construction If I have more work to be done I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Mike and his crew spent approximately 5 months working on multiple areas in and around our home. We added a third stall garage and mudroom/laundry room to the first floor, we added a basement bathroom, remodeled a 4 season porch to use year around as an additional main floor living space, bumped out a small second floor bedroom to add an additional bathroom and larger bedroom to make a master bedroom and en suite bathroom and finally a new 6 foot cedar fence to keep the dogs in our yard. Mike was quick and responsive to our initial meetings, questions, ideas and budget. He was able to creatively rethink the layouts of several of our rooms to keep our budget in check and still give us everything we were wanting. As the owner and general contractor, Mike kept all of his crew moving, supplies delivered and his several sub contractors on time. Mike and his crew are full service...they can frame up, handle tree work, install doors & windows, install siding, install cedar fencing, lay tile, sheetrock, paint, complete finishing work, etc. Mike was able to get our foundation work completed in October so his crew could work all winter long rather than waiting 9 months to start due to our freezing winter temps. We had a standing weekly appointment, at our home, to go over the progress, answer our questions and talk about next steps. Keeping the lines of communication open was huge considering we had no idea how much knowledge and work was necessary for the size of job they were working on. Mike's crew dealt with our 2 dogs during the day and 5 people attempting to live in the construction areas while they worked! We were very pleased with Mike and his crew. We will immediately turn to Higgins Construction when we have any additional renovation/construction needs.

    Platinum Remodeling & Handyman Services
Great. Platinum was great about communicating what would be done and when. The workers came when I was told they would come and did what I was told they would do. When issues arose, I was told about them and they were dealt with. Their professionalism, superior communication and follow-through are what sets Platinum apart from other construction companies.

    K2 Bath Deck & Kitchen
I hired K2 because I liked their people; because their ideas and thoughts on the remodel furthered my own, and they came with good references. I had them redo my main bathroom from the studs out, and push out a wall to get more room for a walk-in shower (in place of the tub). They built a knee wall for the shower and tiled the floor, the shower and the walls up to chair rail height; installed a new pedestal sink and toilet, and hung three wall cabinets. I am very pleased with the results and impressed with the craftsmanship, especially regarding the tile; I requested a basket weave design for the floor and subway tile for the walls, and they did an excellent job. They did a lot of work in the house but always took pains to clean and pick things up at the end of the day. The reasons I would be ambivalent about hiring them again were poor to middling communications and the length of time it took to complete the work. Regarding communications, there were few check-ins during the project -- unless I initiated them -- and I was often in the dark about what was happening until it was too late to do anything about it. My biggest gripe along this line is that I didn't get the sink I had contracted for. I had chosen one with an especially wide lip and flat bottom for maximum utility, but the one installed was of a different brand, with a curved bottom and a narrower lip. By the time I realized this, the sink had been installed; it's a fine sink, but it was annoying that we hadn't talked beforehand. The toilet had been chosen to match the sink, but that too was different. Regarding the time of the project: When we first discussed the work, they talked about 3 to 4 weeks, perhaps starting in January or February. When I signed on the dotted line, it was 6 to 8 weeks. In the end, the project was launched in April and took a full 13 weeks. I recognize that it's impossible to guarantee a completion date, but my friends thought the project took way too long and in the end I have to say I agree. Much of my frustration came toward the end, when the project was nearly wrapped up but they had neglected to re-install the duct grate and neatly trim out the opening in the drywall. The project manager, a very good guy (I liked all the K2 people on the project, from the salesman to the workers), came to the house twice on the weekends to take care of some last-minute tasks, which I appreciated. But by the end I was terribly anxious to shoo all out of them out of the house, clean things up and get things back in order. Bottom line: K2 does very good work and my experience with them was satisfactory. But they still left some room for improvement, which is why I can't give them five stars all around.

    FreshLook Painting
How refreshing to work with a company that is extremely responsive and on time. We have used Ryan and his team multiple times for various painting jobs and the result is always amazing. Ryan and his crew pay great attention to detail and take the time to properly prep a job so his jobs not just look good today, but look great for a long time. I would highly recommend FreshLook Painting for your home.

    Handy Rite
The worker, Vlad, was here on time. He was very polite and very competent at what we wanted done. He is a very good carpenter! Work was done efficiently and was cleaned up when he was finished. I would not hesitate to hire Handy Rite again!

    Twin City Home Remodeling LLC
Talked to Joe (could be wrong on the name), he was quick to respond and professional during the call. However, because this was an insurance claim he refused to come out and give a quote or even learn anything about what needed to be done unless I told the insurance company I selected him to do the work. He tried to explain the reason for this, but he didn't succeed. I suspect he may be frequently asked to give bids on insurance and then is not awarded the work for some reason. Given this was my first (and last) contact with him regarding I certainly didn't feel comfortable working with him. I don't recommend contacting him for insurance work unless you have worked with him in the past and know in advance you want him to do the work.
