Excavating reviews in Plymouth

It worked out pretty well. He left quite a mess in one of my yards but they did a good job with what we asked them to do. They did a great job but they didn't pull when they excavated the first batch of soil. They didn't take it away, they put it in our yard and it caused a major headache later on. By the time they took it away, it was too late. The clay was all over our yard and you couldn't get it all up then it ruined the lawn. Maybe I will use them again.

Install went really quick. John made time in the busy fall schedule to make my job  priority since I had first discussed it with him in August. He made multiple trips to talk to me and my wife about design and color. The job took about four days as it took a day to excavate, a day to frame and reinforce, a day to pour and stamp, and then the last day John came back to finalize the cutting of the control joints.
The tractor rim I wanted to use for the center ring was 36" and fit perfectly into the 38" space John left at the center. The size was appropriate with plent of room to walk around. I still have some work to do on the grass/dirt around the edges of the patio in order to level the ground out a bit more.
The one thing that didn't turn out quite as I would have liked is the color of the patio. I had selected the most gray color there was from the chart, but after sealing the color of the patio actually has a pink hue. I'm hoping that the pink color fades over winter once it has some snow settle on it and ultimately look more gray like the adjacent concrete that pre-existed.
I would post a picture but there isnt that capability.

    Artistic Landscapes Inc
Artistic Landscapes Inc. was one of many companies we talked to and received quotes from about installing a boulder retaining wall in our backyard to replace aging railroad ties and decking. The backyard is sloped with very limited access to move materials and equipment, therefore many of the companies we spoke with responded with either limited options for landscape ideas or unaffordable prices. Chris came out, listened to our ideas, gave us some of his and told us exactly what we could expect; he quickly put a bid together and we were elated it fell within our budget.

He and his crew not only worked around the limited access issues, but challenging weather including rain and wet conditions/clay soils. In addition to an approximate 60 foot long boulder retaining wall, they installed 33 paver stones for a pathway, steps as a feature area, additional large boulders for aesthetic enhancements and graded the area to address critical storm water runoff needs. The placement of each stone/boulder was clearly thought through, resulting in a unique and attractive wall versus many of the standard "one on top of the other" looks.

Toward the end there were a few minor tweaks we requested to which Chris and his crew were more than happy to accommodate until they knew we were completely satisfied. Clean up was fabulous too; our front yard damaged by major equipment during the process (which we knew was necessary) was fully restored as promised!

Chris was good to communicate with and very trustworthy in terms of what he committed to delivering. I would recommend Artistic Landscapes to anyone seeking quality work at a fair price, and by someone who knows what works and what doesn't. We absolutely love our new backyard...thanks Chris and Artistic Landscapes!

fabulous. kevin is extremely responsive and easy to work with. he's a great guy that really knows his stuff. he worked on the final grade on a new construction lot in the middle of a hill.  he handled it with ease and the grade turned out perfectly. he also built a huge rock retaining wall that is absolutely beautiful. highlight of our yard. definitely recommend him to anyone.

I hired Bury Landscaping to install a pop up drain attached to a gutter, landscape gravel and a landscape border. The workmanship was excellent, the work was performed neatly, accurately and on time.

Thank you for an excellent job!

Arbor Tech Tree & Landscape Inc

I purchased an Angies List Deal offering $500 worth of tree services for $249.  The service provider responded promptly and made an appointment for the same week.  They arrived on schedule.  I walked the property and pointed out the trees and bushes that required trimming.  I was told that the work I requested would require an additional $200 (for a total of $449), as the quote without the deal would have been $700.  I have had this same work done in the previous two years by another company for $550 and $600, so I believe this provider's prices are higher than average.  After about 45 minutes, I noticed it was quite quiet outside, and found the providers had left without telling me.  I had expected them to let me know they were done and be given the chance to walk around to ensure it was done to my satisfaction. Although they did a nice job on the work they did do, I found they had not trimmed two bushes in front of the house and also did not trim back the tree branches overhanging my mailbox as agreed on.  A short time later a house guest told me there was a gentleman outside who asked him to give me the invoice for the additional $200.  I ran outside to find he was driving away - apparently just stopped by to drop off the invoice but didn't want to talk to me.  I was disappointed.  I paid the invoice immediately but don't plan to use this service again.

    Richfield Blacktop & Concrete
The estimator was on time, and carefully detailed out the job, and answered all of my questions.  They excavated early in Oct. - the Bobcat was always in the driveway and never on the grass.  The excavation plus setting the forms only took one full day.  They then poured the concrete in one morning just 4 days later - I was worried all this would not get done in time before really cold weather set in, but everything went very well.  I was always given notice before they were to arrive.  After pouring the concrete, they carefully cleaned up the grass around where they had worked.  They sealed the concrete about 3 weeks later.
The concrete work is beautiful.  It has solved the drainage problem near the garage where the apron was falling apart and in many pieces prior to the new concrete, plus they corrected the slope so that everything drained well.  My new front step solves the problem of a crumbling original step.  All of my neighbors have complimented the beautiful job that was done.  My house is definitely enhanced by the look of all this new concrete.

Came out to do the estimate and made great suggestions on how to deal with the erosion issue that I had.  Did the work as indicated on the estimate for the price indicated.  Completed the job timely.

    Armstrong Concrete Inc
At our initial meeting for an estimate, I knew that Paul was top notch.  He is a great listener, has great suggestions, and is very detail oriented.  He was able to squeeze us in a very tight schedule.  His crew were polite and efficient - there was NO sitting around!  His quote was a good deal lower than our other estimates.  From now on, we'll call Armstrong for our concrete needs.  No mess, no fuss, great results!

    Rapid Rip Outs
I called their office about 10 am on a Thursday morning. Joe the owner answered. I described the work needed and he quoted a price of $495. When I asked about availability he said his guys were booked the next day (Friday) as well as the following Monday, but that they could come out on Tuesday. When I asked him about doing it today, he thought for a moment and said that he could do it himself and would be out after lunch. He arrived that afternoon and after a few hours, all the concrete was taken up and hauled away. There were a few unforeseen issues that arose during the process that took some extra time. He took them all in stride and continued to "work with me" on them. He could have charged more,  but when all was said and done, he never deviated from the original quote. We are very happy with the work and would certainly call him again.
