  • They reshingled my children's grandmothers home at the time.  They were professional and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves and called her a couple days later to see if she was satisfied with the work.

  • After being told the tub we wanted was in stock,  we had to wait for it for 5 weeks. The reason for this delay - and all the others - were always someone else's fault. We set a meeting which all of our contractors agreed to. Schultz did not show up for an hour because he had to do something at home, leaving the other contractors to guess what was going to be needed for the plumbing. He cut a hole in the floor and left it; another contractor had to repair it. He left a hole in the downstairs ceiling; another contractor had to repair it. The tub faced the wrong way and had to be installed backwards.
The wrong faucets were ordered from the dealer several times. I had to pick them up myself and call the plumber each time to let him know they were ready for installation. It is 4 and 1/2 months later; there is still one shower head to be exchanged for a new one and installed. All of the empty boxes were left for us to clean up; all our other contractors cleaned up after themselves.

  • Keith's crew replaced the roof on my 100-year-old house, which included two layers of shakes and 25-year-old asphalt shingles on top. Being they were replacing the original roof, plywood sheathing had to go over the old boards with all the gaps in between. (My roof was a crap assignment, with 12/12 slope, lots of angles, and a few challenges. Most roofers run from these jobs. Some roofers quote these tough roofs super high and just drive by, hence my son - who used to do roofing - called my roof a "drive by.")  I chose to upgrade to 50-year shingles (because I don't want to touch this roof again in my lifetime), and that also allowed the crew to work into colder weather (due to rubberized layer). While I had it in my head to be wary of roofing companies (heard and read too many bad stories), I found Keith to be honest, helpful, knowledgeable, punctual, and responsive to questions and challenges. I believe Keith is a trustworthy, ethical, and resourceful business person. I know this sounds like an advertisement for Keith, so I must say I was plenty worried and wary in the beginning. Keith and his crew impressed me and exceeded my expectations. (Keith's crews also replaced two of my neighbors' roofs, and they're pleased too.) NOTE:  My insurance company paid for most of the $17k expense. I paid for upgraded shingles, removal of old chimney, removal of old gutters/downspouts, and a couple misc. items. Overall, I'm very pleased with the process and outcome.

  • Their bid was $40 per window cheaper than their competition. He included $400 extra in the bid for "worst case scenario" on the one water damaged window. They scheduled their carpenter to come out and measure the window. Upon talking to the carpenter he mentioned how they were going to install the window. He was going to install a pocket or replacement window. That is not what we agreed on. They were supposed to do new construction windows. This led to a phone call. Then once the windows were ordered the salesman called me again about how I wanted the windows finished. I only wanted the one finished inside as I was doing the rest of the windows to match. It was at this time they sprung on me that to finish the windows on the inside, jam and trim casing that it would be $150 more per window. I told them forget it and went to root river hardwoods and purchased $200 worth of #1 common oak to finish the windows. The installers came and I had my father here because I had to work. We have some experience installing windows and only contracted these because they were on the second story and one was rotted. They came at 8am and were done at 2pm. The upper level were normal and just an out and in and finish the outside. The worst case scenario window just needed 2 support studs replaced and some siding. All in all about $15 in materials.. The salesman came to give me an invoice and he still charged $400 for the repair of that window. When I complained he lowered it to $200. So I went in search of how much my windows truly cost. At united products one can get the same exact window for approximately $300. I was charged an average of $640 for each window. I thought this was a little high considering no inside finish or time casing. If I went with larson windows it would have been a complete job with the inside finished for the same price. In the end I got taken. Lesson learned, never have Bob's construction do windows again. Their carpenter was subcontracted and they were great.
