AD S Bahr Construction IncThe owner Dave met with my husband and me to give us an estimate on repairing our existing screened in porch and replacing our exterior deck. He provided us with a detailed estimate and a rough drawing of the work that would be done. Compared to the other 2 estimates we received, Dave's estimate was in the middle, but included a more thorough plan on how to fix our existing porch--he gave us the impression that they would do the job right and not cut corners. He also bid out the option for composite decking vs cedar per our request. By the time we got around to making a decision to go forward with the job, the company was booked pretty far out (we booked at the beginning of July and were told they were about 12 weeks out). We were not in a hurry and decided to get on their schedule. Throughout the long wait, Dave touched base with us twice to let us know where they were at as far as their timeline and let us know that they had not forgotten about us. About mid-October it was clear that they would not be able to complete our project before the winter. Dave was very upfront with us regarding his timeline and the jobs booked before us, so the delay was not a surprise and was something we were willing to accomodate (we took it as a good sign that they were so in demand!) We were contacted late October with the plan to pour footings for our deck before the ground froze, and then they would come back during the winter to do the actual teardown and build. I was slightly nervous about this plan as I was concerned that they would start the job and then not come back to complete it. I had no reason to worry, as Dave and his crew were true to their word and did everything as planned. Footings were poured at the end of November, and teardown/build happened at the end of January. The job was completed in 1 week. The construction crew arrived promptly and worked quickly. 2 crew members even came and worked half day on Saturday to get the decking completed. There were some issues that were discovered after demolition (rotted posts needed replacing and the joists on the existing porch needed reinforcing) that increased the cost of the original bid, however they only charged us for the cost of materials/labor and did not upcharge us for the additional work. The jobsite was cleaned up nicely when they were finished. The project manager Myles was excellent at communicating the plan and their progress as the job moved along. He reached out to the inspector to make sure the job was inspected promptly as I had requested, and came back to fix a very minor detail within the week. In the end, the porch and deck are safe, beautiful, and the workmanship solid. We are very happy with the work done by this company and will likely contact them again for future work on our home.- Nichole N.

ANorthrup Remodeling, Roofing & ExteriorsOver the years, we've used Northrup Roofing & Remodeling for a number of small projects and have always been satisfied by the quality of the work. After receiving a number of bids, we chose Northrup for, what we thought, would be a relatively modest project to fix water damage to our front porch and deck. As it turned out, the entire structure had rotted out as a result of improper construction in the original installation (which was not done by Northrup). As a result, the entire structure needed to be demolished and completely replaced. Mark White and his team, which included an architect, structural engineer, and numerous sub-contractors, were all responsive to all of our concerns. They were always respectful of budgetary constraints and delivered a suburb project in a timely fashion.- Russ B.

ANorthrup Remodeling, Roofing & ExteriorsWe hired Northrup on a friends recommendation. We have a 2 story house built in the late 60s and we wanted to upgrade and replace the doors and windows in our house. Many of the windows had been replaced by the previous owner. The wood work (baseboards etc) had also been updated and replaced in many places. Northrup needed to match the existing door and window style and colors. No easy task finding the exact correct doors (solid wood 4 panel), windows (Marvin), and getting the color right. We also had them install double glass french doors to connect our 3 season room to the living room. It took a few trips for the painter to get a stain color to our liking. (Different types of wood react differently to the stain) The doors are maple, the trim is pine etc... They stained off site so we needed the color to perfect. But after that everything happened in two days - 6 doors, 4 windows, trim and moulding + haul away. Friendly and honest service, no drama, will use them again. They even offered to paint the scuff marks on the wall near our hall closet door. (I think it happened during the install so we took them up on that - no charge.)- Mark S.

AI received several estimates to change our deck from wood to lower maintenance composite decking. Although they were not the lowest bid I chose Klingbeil Construction as the owner, Paul, answered my questions and I felt he was knowledgeable about the product and process. He worked with me to decide on the best design and products and colors, pointing out pros and cons. He was in communication with me during the process, including some schedule delays due to material supply glitches. I felt comfortable approaching him and his crew with any questions or concerns I had. Once started the work went smoothly. They cleaned up each day. They hauled away the old decking so a large trash bin was not needed to sit in my driveway. The end result is a beautiful new deck that I have received many compliments on the product and the workmanship. I am looking forward to warm weather and using it again!

AMy Lang VinZant representative, Ron Fry, was super service-oriented. He was extremely communicative throughout the project, and built confidence by being at my home (always Covid-19 safe) to personally ensure the materials, dumpster and crew were in place for the job. In addition, Ken VinZant came by to ensure the work was done to my satisfaction. Ken even replaced a gutter pipe, damaged during the job (so quickly, without fuss). Very impressive! I would use Lang VinZant again. My wife and I are very particular. We were completely satisfied with Lang VinZant, their representative, Ron Fry, and the great work they did.

AThis was the best experience I could have asked for. Our dream home and forever home was a complete success! Jason let us be apart of the process, and was very knowledgeable and honest. Our home is very unique all handicap accessible doors, hallways, bathrooms. This is the home we want to grow old in. He explained the pros and cons of ideas we had. Jason did all of the leg work getting all of the necessary professionals in and out getting jobs done. Jason and his team are very clean also, there was always a clean work area no matter what they were doing. Very professional work!! Well worth the money!!! AWorking with Higgins Construction was a great experience for our family. If questions or concerns arose throughout the project we were able to discuss those things and come to a remedy to correct the question or concern. The crew of people that they have working for them and the subcontractors they brought in were all professional and courteous. They are very fair on their pricing and when they discovered some things that would help with insulation on our home or structural issues in our soffits - they immediately had a clear explanation for their suggestion and price for that to be fixed. Our project consisted of the following: Roof, chimney rebuilt from roofline up, new garage door, siding, shutters, cupola, soffits/facia/gutters, cedar posts on porch, lighting in soffits above the garage door.
