We hired Matt to design and build an exterior fireplace for our paver patio. He designed and handcrafted a stacked stone fireplace to fit the design and curve of our patio. His work is that of an artist and perfectionist and we couldn't be happier with the finished fireplace. We would definitely recommend and hire again!

After a quick initial call, he gave me a rough cost estimate via text photos and then stopped by to firm up the cost in person. The repair itself took a little more than an hour. He even found matching replacement brick! I appreciate that he took the time to squeeze our tiny job in amongst his other, larger projects. We will use him again.

    Concrete Builders
The crew came two days after the estimate at around 7:30 am (just like John said they would). Dug out around the foundation, knocked out the old bricks, poured new concrete (filling in the blocks below), AND even put a new footing under the decorative bricks on the front of our garage.
After the concrete was poured, they refilled the hole, and after the larger part of the crew was gone, one person stuck around to make sure the concrete was drying well. Total time was about 6 hours, again, just as John said.
John explained everything to both my wife and I.
We are hoping to use John do to some more work we'd like done next summer!
I HIGHLY recommend John and Concrete Builders!

After waiting 3 weeks (April 4th), I called them to find out if someone was going to contact us.  We were told they had a salesman leave, and they were trying to absorb his work.  This person told me that he would contact the owner of the company to let them know we hadn't been contacted yet, and that someone would be getting back to us.  2 weeks have gone by, and still no call.  I will Never do business with this company!

Waiting that amount of time with no contact is Unprofessional, and don't deserve my business.  If they were to call me now, they would not get my business even if they offered 50% off!  I don't trust them!   It's best if others are aware their service is terrible, and all I wanted was information so I could make a decision.  They made my decision very easy to not do business with them.  It was no contest.

    Dayco General
We had a damaged step on our front walk.  Chris came out and bid a repair for the step.  It was much lower than the other bid we received  and he was pleasant and personable so we went with Dayco.  I should've known that a bid so much cheaper would come with problems.  They came when promised and did the majority of the work. I was told they would come the next day and acid wash the mortar to make it look better - they didn't come back until I contacted Dayco and asked why it hadn't been done.  At the time we were a bit dismayed that they did not clean up very well and it looked somewhat sloppy, but it was basically fine.  The following spring the work was falling apart and would obviously need to be completely redone.  (We didn't abuse the step or anything.)  When I contacted Chris he took some time to come out and look at it.  He then refused to do anything about it, claiming the hard winter and a drainage issue was to blame for the failure.  I refused to let the matter drop (we live in MN and if there was a drainage issue it should have been noted at the time the work was done.)  Shortly after the president of the company refunded our money, stating that "more major repairs should've been quoted from the start" and that he wanted us to be satisfied.  I am pleased that they refunded the money but I would not recommend them.  It will cost more money for me to have the repair torn out and replaced than it would have if I had never hired them.

He submitted a bid in Sept. 2013, then very slow to return calls.  Finally got proof of insurance, but it was to expire shortly.
Tried several times to contact, but never heard of him again.  The sad thing is, he had the job!  And we were prepared to hire him for the next 3 years, to complete our enitre townhouse community!

    Rodriguez Landscape Co
We consulted several landscaping companies to provide estimates on doing multiple landscape projects which included tree removal, trimming, and building of a retaining wall/creating swale to prevent water pooling near our front door. Raul was the most responsive to all our needs and made recommendations we had not thought about to improve the water flow in our front yard. Once we agreed on the work to be done, Raul's team was out within just a few days getting the work started. His onsite crew was friendly and always cleaned up after the days work. We are very satisfied with his customer service and quick response to our questions. We have already recommended him to friends/family, and have future projects in mind.

    Metro Chimney & Masonry
Joe was very punctual in returning an estimate via a picture that I emailed to him of my decaying chimney.  He sent me back an estimate with different options via email to which I agreed.  He came the following week.  If I did not have a beautiful new chimney, I would have had no idea he was there.  The disruption was minimal and the clean up was great.  When he came to pick up his trailer he was personable and courteous.  I would definitely recommend him for any chimney repair.

Foundation had some areas that need tuck pointing. This company did that tuck pointing and seem to do a good job. The only concern I have is that price seemed a bit too high for the few hours it took to do the work. I would suggest if you have a big project for this company that you get a couple other bids form other companies.

Mr. Forsberg was very friendly, did a good job, and was great in ensuring that tarps and coverings were provided so that nothing harmed the floors or tracked in dirt from outside.  He was very careful when cleaning the chimney that debris did not fall out into the room, he is very knowledgeable about his work, and he did an excellent job in cleaning up after the work was done.
There was some discrepancy about the pricing and the 10% coupon was not honored, nor was I qualified about the senior citizen discount listed on Angie's List.  Mr Forsberg was sent the email communications as a reminder about the pricing and my confirmation to pay him the $300 for the fireplace repair and $100 for the chimney cleaning.  This pricing may be a little high compared to other vendors, but I did agree to it.  It just would have been good if Mr. Forsberg could have honored his discounts.
