  I would like to add to the review posted on 3/16. My mom contacted John for an estimate and went back and forth with calls not being returned and when she did talk to him, he was arrogant and condescending. She asked if he provided free estimates and he responded with a very condescending tone that he didn't. John talked my mom into giving him a down payment of $275, which he said was part of the estimate (and in his written estimate which I reviewed, it stated within there "free estimates, no obligation" ) and that it would go towards work he did. An official/written estimate wasn't given until a later date. She received the estimate of $5,720 and emailed John and said she would not be able to have him do the work, because she wasn't planning on spending that much and if she could get her $275.00 back. It took him a while to respond back to her and then his was response was "No". She received another free-charge estimate for $1,500 for the same work. I reviewed the estimate further and he did say "free estimate, no obligation" and that the $275 would go towards any work performed. I emailed John and stated what was written in the estimate and he replied "I must of hit a wrong button when writing that estimate, you do have a point, give me a call" I thought, oh, maybe he will refund her. When I called John, he was very arrogant and condescending to me too and said he would not refund her and what did I think was fair. I said, she should be refunded, but for your time, what about $50 and he said, "that won't happen, I will give your mom $50. We went back and forth a bit and he ended up hanging up on me. I don't know how he is still in business, especially after reading some of his other reviews. Very poor, unprofessional businessman.

  I found Samantha via Craigslist and she responded to my inquiry right away. I explained what I needed help with and she was able to give me a quote and accommodate my schedule. She arrived on time, was efficient and pleasant, and even offered to address any other issues I had while she was there. She is now my go-to handy person and I have told everyone about her! Couldn't be more pleased with the service received.

  Larry did an absolute fabulous job with everything, especially the install of the screen door.  The opening was less than perfect but Larry made sure the door fit to perfection.  He was also able to fix the soffit so it's now back in place and replaced the piece of siding so it should not come down again.  
  
  Larry also was able to give me a bid to finish a bathroom project that I've started and am unable to complete on my own.  The bid is extremely reasonable and Larry and I decided he'll be back to do the job this Fall.  I can't wait and know he'll do an equally a great job as all the others he's completed already.

  Ward is about the best handy person I have ever met. He takes the time to do the job through and right. I am picky about appearances of repair work and so is he. Very personable and reasonable. I would recommend him highly!

  I am selling my town home.  I was having a lot of showings and a number of purchase agreements that fell through.  In each case, there was nothing about my home..just something in the buyers life and my Realtor couldn't get any information beyond that.  So I had my own home inspection done for my peace of mind as I knew there was nothing seriously wrong.  The Home Inspection report validated my understanding.  But as inspections go, there was listed a number of things that could easily be repaired and are common.  So I needed it done asap as we were having a lot of bookings and even another purchase agreement.  So the first most important thing he did, was actually ANSWER THE PHONE!  Which many just go to a voice mail or have a person get your info and attempt to contact someone.  I told him my story and he said I will take care of it TOMORROW.  I sent him the list I thought should be done from the report.  And he suggested I send the whole report to see if he can get more of it done than I'm requesting.  He saw all the different types of minor issues and calmly said..sure we can do that.  And they did.  They did all of the little things and there were many.  I can't be there to inspect the work as I have already moved.  But I could tell he was a person of integrity and I trusted him instantly.  He is the best handyman I have ever used.  And I have used a quite a few on Angie's list here.  HE IS THE BEST.  He is responsive, nice, professional, met my request for immediate work, did it at a fair price which included his materials.  I couldn't have gotten any better service than he provided.  He deserves a "happiness" indicator.

  service was excellent from start to finish. Scheduling was easy and the installer was awesome. The Job was done perfectly and I will definatly hire again for services like that. :The installer went above and beyond and was considerate of our situation which included a professional cleaning company coming right after and him labeling the newly installed trim to warn the cleaning company.

  The door was done satisfactory, not perfect, but with retro fit, it never is. The problem was with the handles put on my brand new vanity, which of course meant drilling holes. He centered them fine, but he did not level them and they are not straight. One end of the handle is slightly higher than the other, on all three drawers, very disappointing.

  Sam was great to work with.  His initial evaluation of our project included several recommendations for further efficiencies and he was honest about his recommendations regardless of whether or not it meant more $$ for him.  We had a tight timeframe for completion and Sam was honest about setting expectations, but also worked hard to meet our timeframe.  On top of it all, his work was phenomenal.  We would certainly recommend Sam for others and will use him for future projects.

  I'm completely comfortable having him do work for me. The guy is just a neat guy - very helpful and very responsive. The toilet that we had was an unusual toilet, and they got a replacement very quickly. His concern for me and not having a functioning toilet was very nice.
