  • Anton was great to work with. He guided us through the process of what wood would look best in our house, communicated regularly before and during the project and also provided all we needed for the insurance claim. A pleasure to work with.

  • JB did a fabulous job on our 1953-built home with red oak floors that were completely worn down to the bare wood. We were going for the lightest-colored look, and John recommended the most expensive, water-based finish because we didn't want it to cure orange. He also recommended a matte appearance, which is fashionable right now and shows less wear through the years. John had to replace a few boards and even a part of the floor that was cut out to create a laundry shoot that we were no longer using. The process took 3-4 days in December, and was almost completely dustless. We were out of our house during this time, but came in and checked and there was an odor, but it wasn't terribly strong. If the floor didn't block the bathroom access, we could have stayed at home. We were extremely pleased with the results. John said it takes about a month to fully cure, and during this time, we noticed the floors looking better every day. They look gorgeous and illuminate the whole room. John also installed 4 inch maple moulding. The total square feet was under 300. We realize there were others whose quotes were a little less, but they didn't do moulding, and I don't think any of them had as positive reviews as John's business, so we went with him. You get what you pay for, and his work was thorough and impressive and we are so glad we did. We think the price was extremely reasonable and the attention to detail was obvious. Call this guy. You won't be sorry.

  • The process went really well. JB's set up a schedule and they stuck to it. We did move out during the project, which was always our plan. When the carpet came off the stairs, it turned out that they were in good condition and already stained. JB's employees immediately provided us with new options for the stairs (we opted for a light smoothing and the antislip commercial poly agreed upon in the bid). Several small holes were discovered in the floor after the carpet came up, and again, we had easy discussions about our options (fill or replace boards). JB's employees were very patient with me: I ask a lot of questions! They did a beautiful job with the repairs needed prior to staining. Sanding is messy, but they minimized the dust and cleaned up every day. We indicated what range of color we were leaning towards, and they gave us a several lovely options. Of course, the oil-based stain and sealer were very strong smelling. However, the two water coats helped tamp down the smell. When we moved back in, we opened up all the windows for a couple of days to air the house out (again, I am sensitive to certain smells). The floors have a beautiful soft glow and feel wonderful under foot. Because the stairs did not need as much work, JB reworked the final invoice to reflect that fact. We feel that we absolutely got the quality we paid for, and then some!

  • Bob put down a brand new wood floor and base boards in the upstairs of our house. He used this awesome oak with a lot of beautiful color variation. I was pregnant at the time so he advised us to use a water based finish and worked quickly so I could get back home soon. The shining star of his work was our staircase which he did in two colors so that the risers are a dark walnut and the steps a golden oak – it looks awesome. I would highly recommend his work!

  • Relying on Rob to keep our home in good repair, up-to-date and safe for us as we age is just remarkable. We've used Rob's services for the last five years. Whenever a home repair or update occurs to us, we add it to our "Rob List" and about every three months, we get on Rob's schedule and he reads over the list, offers us a bid (always reasonable) and comes to our home for a morning or afternoon and fixes everything.

  • Colin came in and removed all of the old laminate flooring and underlayment in the kitchen and dining room. He cut and laid all new pre-finished hardwood flooring. He had to remove the baseboards to complete the job. All baseboards were re-painted and nailed back into place to give the room a fresh, clean look. The floor looks great! We are very happy with the work. All debris was removed. We didn't even find a stray nail!

  • Colin and his crew turned our dusty, dingy basement into a great play area for our kids. Colin built custom benches/storage, and shelving that exceeded our expectations. He found creative solutions for the space that we hadn't previously thought of. The job took about three weeks from start to finish. Colin and his crew were always on time. I was always updated on the progress of the job. Colin always notified me when he ran into a bump in the road. I was consulted with each decision that needed to be made.

  • Tim refinished the oak floor in a small bedroom. Many contractors won’t be bothered with jobs this small. Tim gave it the same care and attention to detail that he would for a 5,000 square foot project. He was punctual, courteous and very considerate of us of our home. He responded promptly to phone calls and emails. The work itself was done completely to our satisfaction. I would recommend Tim Meyer without reservation.

  • I'm thrilled with my newly refinished floors! Each stage of the process was carried out by a highly competent and professional person. Right from the start, I was thankful that people from JB's Wood Floor Inc were the ones doing the work. The floors, which were in very rough shape, turned out better than I ever imagined they would. I would highly recommend JB's!

  • I was very happy with the work. John visited my house to examine the floors and gave a clear explanation of my options. He gave 3 different options for finishing systems. I ended up choosing the commercial oil/water system for the maximum durability since I intended to use the living room as a dance practice area. The floors needed a lot of repairs before staining. There were some dark stains from moisture damage, some scratches, and some nail and staple holes from when the space was carpeted. John's crew was able to repair most of the damage by sanding and filling holes, and patched a small number of board where the stains were too deep. They also installed some trim to cover an unfinished line on the baseboard left when carpet was removed. The final product looks smooth and beautiful. I'm really happy how it looks! The crew was very considerate and did a good job preventing dust and debris from spreading in the house. There was a noticeable smell for a few days after the stain was first applied but it gets better quickly. I would definitely work with John again.
