Water Heater Repair And Installation reviews in Mounds View

When we need HVAC services, Michael is our go-to guy. He's prompt, courteous, and really knows his stuff. We've had planned services and emergencies, and he's taken such good care of us each time. We're planning to have our 20+ year-old furnace and air-conditioner replaced and he'll be the one to do it. Just can't say enough about what a great job he does.

About two and half weeks ago, my hot water heater died leaving me with a flooded basement and no hot water. Between the failures of the warranty service I used (HMS) and the Service Provider (Crestline), I had no hot water for two weeks. After half a week of finally having a new hot water heater, the new one seemed to fail, leaving my two young kids without hot water for their baths again. HMS told me I could get a different provider and had me call Adam's. I spoke with Dean who was freaking out that he might not get paid for his services. He said he called HMS and expected me to pay another deductible FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I called HMS the next morning and they said that was wrong. Dean was still hesitant and was wary of coming out to help our family because he was afraid he would not get paid. I ended my call with him. Instead of asking questions about the situation, offering to have a three way conversation with the warranty company, or checking his office to see if HMSs paperwork came in explaining this was a recall and that I would not have to pay, he was adamant that I was going to need to pay him and did not want to come out unless I understood that to be the case. I am surprised at the positive feedback this company has received and chalk it up to the good work they do when they DO come out and help someone. However, when it comes down to integrity and customer service, Adam's demonstrated a big, fat failure. Less

They never showed up for the scheduled appointment. They did not call to let me know they could not make the appointment or return my call after I called to see if they were still coming to fix my hot water heater. I missed a half day of work waiting for them to show up for their scheduled time frame.

I went through Home Depot for the purchase of a water heater and they teamed me up with Champion. Jimmy from Champion was an awesome young man. He saw that nothing was really wrong with my water heater and suggested I don't replace it at this time. Apparently, he knew about the brand I had (AO Smith) and said that it was a very reliable brand and I would be replacing it with a lesser quality tank (Rheem). He explained to me what would need to be done if I ever did replace it and how much the extra parts would be (under $100). He gave me an estimate if I changed my mind and left without charging me a penny. I can't tell you what an awesome experience it was to have a service tech come out and not charge me for something I didn't need. I will tolerate the pinging as it saved me $1,100. Thanks Champion!!

Very well.  Stu was on time and honest.  I had originally called as we were smelling sewage sporadically.  He checked to make sure all of the traps were working appropriately and ruled out potentially serious problems.  He told me what it could be but, instead of undertaking a potentially expensive and time-consuming investigation told me what I could do to try and locate the problem.  While it is temporarily unpleasant to smell sewage, the work and money that would need to go into resolving the problem (removing drywall to access vents) is likely not worth it.  The other reason I called was to fix a whole home humidifier and this was fixed quickly without issue.  I had mentioned that I had noticed some water leaking from my water heater which he warned is a sign the water heater could malfunction (it was a 17 year-old water heater).  Rather than test my luck I decided to have this replaced which was done that day.  Stu wasn't suppose to but he replaced a couple of valves that weren't up to code for no charge.  Overall an excellent experience and I will definitely be using Jake the Plumber in the future.

Poorly.  Got a list of over priced options.  Then the plumber called in a sales guy.  We spent the next hour going over the options and prices.  Something was wrong.  Bottom of the line water heaters were $1500 to top of the line tankless heaters at $10,000.  Lots of sales pitch for the high end stuff and time limitations.  Then complements on how smart I was.  I got some follow up bids from "real" plumbers.  Ended up getting the identical water heater they were selling for just under half the price.
Buyer beware:  Get follow up bids on these guys.

I called around 10:00 a.m. with water all over my laundry room floor from my water heater.  I told him my wife is a day-care provider so I would prefer a late afternoon or evening appointment.  After thinking about it he agreed to come over around 4:00 the same day.  He was waiting for me when I got home from work around 4:05 and proceeded to do a quick and professional removal of my old heater and installation of the new one.  I didn't want to hover over him while he worked but he said he enjoyed the company and we had a very pleasant chat while I watched him work.  Very neat, left things as clean as they were if not better.  I have total confidence in the work he did and the price was as low as any others I researched.  Highly recommend.

The plumbers were here on time, did the work quickly and showed me what they were doing.  They also took a quick look at my water heater and told me it is well past it's life expectancy.  The did not pressure me at all on getting a new hot water heater, just told me that I maybe should do some planning on the replacement.

I contacted several other plumbers and got estimates  of $350 to $394 from one plumber, $250 from another and $225 from another.  Twin City Pipe was $189.

Called back promptly. Same day service. Explained what was covered by warranty. Clearly explained problem. Showed evidence of problem. Provided education to prevent future problems. Cleaned up site nicely. I was a little shocked by the price for two hours labor, but I'm probably being unrealistic in that regard. I'm just happy the problem was resolved in a timely manner.

Dave was able to locate a leak in the three inch plumbing pipe from the toilet in our first floor bathroom. The leak had caused ceiling and wall damage in our basement bathroom. Dave was diligent in trying fixes before needing to cut a hole in the ceiling to replace the pipe. We also had a new water heater installed. With two men working they were able to complete both jobs in less than three hours. I would definitely use this plumbing company in the future.
It is also good to note they always confirm their appointments plus call ahead of the scheduled time to advise when exactly they will be there.
