    Minnesota Concrete Lifting
Jordan came out right away and gave a very clear plan for the work. We have an exposed aggregate walkway that all of the other contractors contacted said would need large drill holes. Because the walkway had dirt landscape beds on either side, his crew was able to lift the walkway without drilling holes in it! We are so pleased with the outcome. I know it was a lot more work for his crew, but it looks fantastic now. Would recommend this company and use again.

They were great. They were very detailed, brought up things that the other two contractors did not. They found that we did not have a shower panel and brought that to our attention. They had the proper permits. The workers were very nice, we have missed them since they have been gone. The work was great, our bathroom is beautiful now!

    Standard Water Control Systems Inc
    * When calling in for the first time, the appointment for the request for estimate, the phone call was taken immediately and an appointment setup.
    * There were 2 teams(demolition/drain tile equipment installation and then Concrete a day later). Both arrived on time and performed the work per the agreement.
    CONs or room for improvement:
    * At the time of the estimate, the company was about 2-3 months backlogged with work. My original work date was about 3 months after estimate which was a long wait.   However, there was a cancelation so my job was moved up about a month and a half which was considerate thing to do for me.
    * I was not happy with the team that did the cement work to cover the drain tile.  The final job was just ok but not up to a professional standard in my opinion.  The corners were not level with the floor (ramped up to the corner).  I mentioned this as well as the fact that it may be hard for me to tile 1 or 2 corners but the feeling was that quitting time and getting out of there was more important.     I let them go but have been kicking myself for doing that.
I am pretty sure that the job was not done using a level to assure all was flat. I had to bring my level down and prove the job was not level in spots.
    * The teams didn't go over any of the operation of the sump pump.  It was simple enough to figure out with the owners manual but that would have been nice.   After the 1st team left, I noticed that my clean in line water filter (I have well system), was filled with sediment. I was worried that there was a break in the line that was fixed without me knowing it happed but I was told after calling in the next day that its normal for the jack hammering to jolt lose sediment in the pipes.    Bottom line is that for my interface with the teams, the customer attention needed improvement.
This company will get the job done for sure. They have the experience and I feel they can be trusted but you may want to watch over them. Pay attention to what your basement looks like before the job and then have questions prepared to ask the teams before they leave. Also have a level ready to make sure the job is level and don't be scared to have them correct things that are not to your liking, I am sure they will respond.

Steve came out to do the bid and proposal, in conjunction with Platinum Remodeling.  He was very thorough and was keen on using as much of the old plants as possible to keep costs down.  We removed essentially all landscaping around the house.   Two new retaining walls were built, river rock, plants and sod all installed.  The crew were so respectful and cleaned up every day after.  You couldn't hardly tell they had been there working that day, except of course for the major change.  Chris, the crew contact, was extremely responsive to questions or comments we had during the project.  Any of the guys would immediately stop what they were doing and come over to see what I needed if I came to ask questions.
We are having Funfar finish the little bit of landscaping we need to do around our deck in September.  We would absolutely recommend this company and would use them again.  What a great experience.

    Egress Window Guy Inc
They were punctual and great workers.  Not only did they explain exactly what was going to happen, they spent a lot of time making sure that the dust and damage to the basement walls was minimalized as much as possible.  They went the extra mile making sure that the job was done right, at their own expense.  Everybody who has seen my basement now who also had drain-tile work done is amazed that they did as good a job as they did in as little time as they did it.  They all say that their basements now are slanted towards the wall now, or that their walls were more destroyed by the process, etc...  Don't trust another company to get the job done right and then be horrified when they screw up the job, just call these guys and save yourself a ton of anxiety and money.
The owner of the company is Don Weld and he is a great guy, easy to talk to and runs an efficient crew.  I talked to the guys in the office, Dan and Jack who both were in no hurry to get off the phone with me and spent plenty of time making sure that my concerns were addressed and that it was scheduled properly.  The guys who came out to do the work were Nate, Ben, Zach, Nik, and Marcus who were all great and hard workers.  I can't believe how fast they were!

    Weld & Sons Plumbing
These guys are great.  We had their sister company, Egress Window Guy, out to do our drain-tile in our basement and that whole process was both painless and amazing.  Egress had their plumbing guys do all the plumbing work which was done incredibly well.  They went above and beyond at their own expense to make sure that the job was done right.  Nate, Ben, and Marcus did all the plumbing work and I don't think I've ever seen guys work as hard or as fast as these guys did.
At the very end, we had some drainage issues probably just due to all the dust that got picked up.  They sent someone back out on short notice to take care of it.  And by take care of it, I mean that he had to run 50 feet of snake to unclog the system which he did with a smile.
I trust this company to be fair, honest, and above expectation of what they do, and that is quite a rare thing.

Overall average experience. We worked with Jeremy. He handed us off and we felt like there was no oversite nor real attention to deadlines. We had a weeping sytem and sump pumps installed. This process went ok, cleanup could have been better. We also contracted with them to intall egress windows. This dragged on for ever. Partially weather delays but also scheduling on their end. The whole process took way longer than it should have. We spent alot. We got what we paid for eventually but we were under contruction what felt like forever.
We were doing other work around the same time. The other contractor was head and shoulders better in terms of communication, timeliness and clean-up.

    Brian's Whatever LLC
A property that I recently purchased needed a complete re-do in the mechanical room, which had no place for water to go if the worst occurred.  Another Angie’s List firm helped put together a plan that water proofed the floor by building the equivalent of a tiled shower floor with cement board, Red Guard, and porcelain tile.  It included a new floor drain as well, which the room did not previously have. Because I was under a time constraint, the tile work was sub-contracted with Brian Geurts of Brian’s Whatever, LLC.  I believe Brian used to be on the other company’s team and is now doing independent trim, ceramic tile, sheetrock, backsplash, bath, kitchen, and basement remodeling.  He also apparently does the tradeshow display setups for a local tile company.  I discovered that he has a lot of remodeling experience. Brian did a wonderful job waterproofing and tiling the mechanical room floor.  He even created a hinged trap door in the tile floor that gives me access into the crawl space.  He set it up so once I’m done with the remodeling project, I can add a bead of silicon to complete the waterproofing seal on the door access.  He even volunteered to come out and do it himself if I need it. Brian was very professional and offered up ideas that I had not thought about.  He even took a weekend of his own time to get the job done.  You don’t see that everyday.  His work looks great and he pays attention to the detail. Thanks, Brian.
