    MIDWEST AUTO REPAIR
I am normally, "take it to the dealer" kind of person but since Midwest is right around the corner, I couldn't resist giving it a try (since it was super convenient to drop off a car and walk home) Midwest has been great. We don't ever feel like we are getting pushed to do unnecessary work. Oil Change prices are competitive with instant oil change places I needed new rear pads and rotors and the pricing seemed a bit less than a brake place (like Midas) Battery replacement was somewhat higher than expected, but I looked it up and it seemed in line (admittedly it had been 10 years since I bought a battery, so prices may have gone up) Getting new tires, next week, from Midwest. I ALMOST decided to go elsewhere, because I wasn't impressed with first tires he suggested, but he worked with me to find a different ones with better winter reviews (I'm a little more hands on with things like this). Also, I had noted that we should probably change the TPMS sensors, as they are 8 years old. Instead of just doing that and charging me, he noted that he can check the battery status first to verify if I really need to change them--I may need to/may not but nice to know he'd rather verify first. I am a bit biased since it is right around the corner, but I can say that I've been happy with the work at Midwest.

    Mike's Auto Repair
Mike was wonderful. He replaced both sway bars and the brake line within a day of dropoff. He also saw I needed an oil change and offered to do that as well. He even went so far as to add some power steering fluid free of charge.

    Larsen Motors
Kyle was superb with customer care. I looked up other neighborhood mechanic shops on Nextdoor. Of the three I called, he fit me in when all the other nearby shops were packed for a week even though his shop was booked too. My engine was overheating and not warming the inside of my van just as autumn temperatures were plummeting. He was able to diagnose my cracked temperature housing that was leaking coolant. While in the shop I also got an oil change and shocks repaired (both of which were severely overdue in getting taken care of). It was a one day turnaround. So thankful for getting taken care of! I didn't feel pressured at all to get anything I didn't need at the time. So awesome to drive a warm vehicle that doesn't cluck as I drive anymore! ☺️

    Signal Garage Auto Care
The guys at Signal are great! I really appreciate their expertise at identifying the quirky issues my car has had after years of wear and tear. This time it was a failing camshaft sensor. That little bugger was just starting to go out so it was tough to identify, but they did and now my car is running like a champ! Also noteworthy... everyone is really friendly and professional. I definitely recommend them!

    Budget Locksmith
We needed a duplicate key made for a 2013 Subaru Outback. This is a key with the remote and chip built into the key. To save money, the locksmith instructed me to purchase the key blank from Amazon ($50). The locksmith charged $90 to cut and program the key (Total cost: $140). Four other locksmiths that I contacted could not cut the key. The dealership cost was $270. Luke was on time (he actually called ahead of time and was able to arrive early) and came to our house to do the work. This was a good experience and we saved money.

    CHAMPION GARAGE DOORS
Had a great experience. a chain sprocket sheared off my old opener. The technician gave option of fixing or replacing the 16 year old opener. Decided on the opener and next day he had it installed in just an hour. Would definitely use again if need be.

    RON'S AUTO
Ron is fantastic. He is friendly, knowledgable, and doesn't talk down to people like me who know nothing about cars. He's been around for years, and is a trusted business in the Longfellow neighborhood. He fixed my problem in 15 minutes, and saved me the $,1000 bill that the dealership wanted to charge. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs an auto repair.

    St Paul Automotive
I use St. Paul Automotive to service three household cars (Toyota Corolla, Mazda CX9, and Suzuki SX4) and they do a great job. They are straightforward and tell you what needs to be done now and what can wait until later. They also stand behind their warranty and will fix things again as needed under warranty.
