    Northern Roots Lawn Care
My wife and I have been customers for a number of years and have been very pleased with "all' the services rendered. Emory, Brian & Christian were great to deal with on the latest landscaping project. They listened, made suggestions and we are very satisfied with the end result! Lots of color!

    Northern Roots Lawn Care
I hired Northern Roots for the season, they were expensive but I wanted professionals to avoid the hassle of neighborhood kids that usually need nagging and dont show up. I should have stuck with the kids. They killed my lawn by never showing up to collect leaves as promised I will attempt to attach a picture. NOTE: all the other lawns in the picture look great, none of these neighbors hired them. After they promised to do I waited and waited and waited. Here are some direct quote excuses from them: We need consecutive days of dry weather to get the ground in shape to handle our equipment and for the leaves to not clog up our bagging systems.do not call or email and ask about when we will get to you. - Skoog the owner to all customers After I told them that in my younger years, I would just go slower or use rakes when wet leaves clogged the mower I was told at a $65/hr labor rate. I don't think most people want to pay $1,200 for a cleanup Brian the sales guy Funny how everyone in my neighborhood got their leaves done themselves or with others while this best equipped company just provided excuses. My neighbor kept asking me to do it for me while I traveled but he is a severely arthritic fellow grandpa so I did not really want him to do. I finally relented - too late for the lawn - he did it in a few hours with just a lawn tractor. I am still scratching my head as to why all the BS instead of finding ways to get the work done. They killed my lawn and now refuse to remedy this or even apologize. I was only told sorry things did not work out-Skoog the owner They did a large expensive landscaping project in spring, which turned out looking good but proved way too difficult. They insisted I sign contracts on their site an amateur hour site I couldnt even log into for months. They will want a credit card pre-registered so they can charge whatever they want. The sales guy Brian would never write down the plan, just a materials list. Good thing I was there to redirect when the workers made up their own plans, the workers complained this a problem with Brian on all projects. Upon completion the foreman told me the owner wanted me to pay extra because Brian made some kind of mistake. in the fixed bid. Brians tree expert also recommended a tree that was very inappropriate, I made the mistake of trusting their competency the tree is now dying a mistake that cost me $500 as they refuse to replace it. After this I started to write everything down when I needed work after this, sending to them and getting agreement. All the way down to the detail of which plants to trim, but they still could not manage to do as agreed. Had to nag and get them to return. Delightful. I asked if they could fertilize 4 times during the year, they agreed, then would not show up. I would keep asking for weeks, then months, kept being told I was on the schedule. They only actually showed up one time for the year. This is a situation you wont want to be in - since they kept promising they would show I could not hire anyone else at risk of killing lawn with double fertilizing. This helped kill the lawn I am sure. The ONLY thing they got right was showing up to mow. But well past when the grass stopped growing the owner had some simplistic notion his profits doing this were higher than doing the leaves. With the detailing and nagging they think much too highly of themselves to consider they can ever be at fault, the owner is way beyond being just tone deaf to his customers, they said they would only do snowplow work for me from then on. Of course they did not show up for the first snowstorm either. I finally fired them. Instead I hired Elevated Services, Jason showed up promptly for every single every snow after that and did great work. Behaved like an adult too. Just hired them for summer work too. I am at a loss as to how they could have any legitimate positive reviews, or even stay in business, given all this nonsense in a single season. I spent many thousands with them, payed my bills on time, gave them (too much) slack to show up etc. Northern Roots is too pricey with the high rates, minimums, and surprise add-on fees. They proved difficult, misleading, do not do what they promise and did inconstant work. Avoid them and hire someone you can depend on, they will make your life miserable and they might just kill your lawn too.

    Ryan's Lawn Service
I've been with Ryan for some years before Tony bought it from Ryan and never had any trouble until now, I have called several times when they were going to come out and my leaves are still on my lawn. I called and texted Tony this weekend to give me an update with no response, because Tony had told me he would be out last Wednesday, Thursday or Friday no show and he has two other customers next to me that I got the business for him, I guess he 's doing so well he doesn't need our business.

    MAJESTIC LANDCARE L.L.C.
We have bare spots in our yard where the grass has died because of the amount of shade we get from the many trees in our yard. Matt and his team came out and trimmed up all the trees to open it up and get some sunlight. Matt oversees and works alongside his team and they did a great job, as usual. Other than cutting the grass, Matt handles everything related to our yard for us and we're very pleased. We won't ever call on anyone else for help. He and his team are the best.

    Don Green's Dirt Service
Contacting them after seeing their ad in the Angie's List magazine. John was great to work with and he and the team did a great job. Consulted with me throughout the entire process and we're very happy with the result. Leveled and graded our backyard (~4,000 feet) and laid new sod.

    West Metro Lawn and Snow
I hired them for lawn care and grass seeding. After the seeding there is a watering schedule that has to be followed. In the first few days I had a medical emergency and could not take care of the yard. Chris stepped in and set up a system for me that took care of it and he could not have been nicer. I absolutely recommend them! Great to deal with and very responsive to the emails you send.

    West Metro Lawn and Snow
Awesome! Chris was on time, offered good advice; did not try to upsell - just advised on what would help us get our lawn in great shape for our graduation party and the summer. After only 1 treatment and spring cleanup, our lawn already looks much better than it has in several years. Chris is very thorough, professional and responsive. I highly recommend West Metro Lawn & Snow!

    Better Yards & Gardens
My neighbor and i couldn't believe how fast these guys were working! We knew if we'd tried to tackle this it would take us more than twice as long. We were both impressed. I had to leave while they were still working and when I came back I really looked at what they had done. It was then i saw that the quick work had come with their being careless. The ground was lumpy. While my yard had had lots of weeds in it, it had been very level, but in their process of removing the old grass and weeds, they made it very lumpy. They didn't rototil the ground so much of the yard was very hard, and they didn't level it by raking or any other method. Well, it was so hard i don't think they could have. They didn't smash down the sod after they'd set it on the ground, so when you walked on it some spots went way down and others were higher than the rest of the ground. Some small areas were so high that when the lawn was mowed the first time the grass was cut almost to the ground because it was so much taller. The corners of the sod were not tucked in. They had laid sod on top of concrete pavers, on top of bricks, on the footings for fence posts, on top of other pieces of sod. There was an area up against the garage where i'd had a garden hose running under concrete pavers. I had removed the pavers but of course it was their job not mine to churn up the soil. But the grass there started dying, even with having been watered profusely. When i pulled up the sod to look underneath i could still see where the hose had been, and the sod was cut too big so it was kind of sitting up in the air, touching the garage at that end, but not even on the ground. There were a couple areas that we had specifically discussed, where i wanted to put wood chips or set out some plants. I said i wanted those areas to be rototilled to make sure there would be no weeds. I was told they don't use a rototil; they do it by hand. Whatever. But they didn't. It was dense and of course the weeds all started coming back very soon. They knew that my house was going to be going up for sale We had discussed that this project was to make the lawn look better for "curb appeal" . One area they were supposed to do was the boulevard. Very important, right? But when i got home i saw that they had done part of it and just left the rest . When i pointed this out they said they had used more sod than they'd anticipated in the back yard so didn't have enough. But the back yard isn't as important! This was careless to not do the front (they were going to come back to do more on the back yard a month or so later after my garden was done so it would have made sense to complete the front not the back anyhow). I repeatedly asked to have them come finish the boulevard area. The manager came out several times to take care of where the sod was on top of other sod or on top of bricks or pavers or so lumpy you couldn't walk without twisting your ankle but the workers didn't come back to take care of the sod until they came to finish the back. Another thing was i had several rose plants that i wanted to bring with me when i moved. The roses had been in their locations for about 20 years so of course the roots would go down very deep. I thought since this was their job that they'd do better digging them up than i would. I specified that they were very well established and needed to be dug out very deep. The roses in the front were one kind and in the back were different. I had asked that they put the ones from the front in large plastic bags which i provided, and those from the back in the wheelbarrow. When i got home i saw that they had put them all in the wheelbarrow, so it was difficult to tell them apart, and they had not dug them up deep; they had chopped the large roots right off. Some they had gone down less than a foot and none had they gone much more than a foot. This was last June. I wasn't able to plant the roses at my new house right away but i put them into 5 gallon pots, except for 2 that were awkward shapes and i left those in the wheelbarrow and added soil. They were all kept well watered. After i planted them in the ground they were also kept well watered. They all lost all their leaves. I have never moved roses that had been so well established so perhaps that is to be expected but i know having the roots chopped off gave them a definite disadvantage. Only one of the plants had any life by the end of growing season. They are all still planted but i am not hopeful that they will come back. I called my nursery and got the replacement price for the kinds of roses i had. I deducted that amount when i paid. The photos might be kind of difficult to make sense of. The two sticks are the two worst of the roses they dug up to transplant. You can see that the roots on both were chopped off. How could those grow? And there's a photo of where pieces of sod overlapped so those parts died at the edges. And one of sod on top of a fence footing. And two of the area on the boulevard where they were supposed to improve the look with installing sod. Umm, not so much. I cannot believe they had an A rating. What was wrong with them when they were working at my house?? One thing they did was remove a fairly large tree. They were obligated to contact the city to verify that no utilites or pipres were in the way and they never did which is a major safety concern.

    MAJESTIC LANDCARE L.L.C.
Matt and his team are the best. They make sure everything is done and then some. They are reasonably priced and get the job done in a timely fashion. Whether it's fertilizing the lawn or doing the fall clean-up in a yard with many mature trees, we are very pleased with their work and will never use anyone else. We highly recommend them.

    5 Star Lawn Service
I have a lot of trees so in the fall I have A LOT of leaves. I would spend hours racking and taking trailer loads of leaves to the yard waste several times during the fall. They blow the leaves out of all the nooks and crannies and get it all ready for winter in maybe a little over an hour. It is so worth the money for the time it saves me. I usually have them come back and run over the lawn with the dethatcher in the spring so I don't have to rack and it looks great. I started using them when I saw what a great job they did on my neighbors lawn. I had them do my parents yard too.
