    A college age guy came to my home selling pest control.  I usually never purchase from companies going door to door, but since I was already thinking of hiring someone for pest control, I went ahead and scheduled them.  They do quarterly treatments.  We are rural, so we had quite a few spiders in the basement and I had been seeing a singer carpenter ant in my bathroom (one every day).    They came and sprayed (I wasn't home when they started, my son saw them and then I arrived and talked to them before they left.)  Side note - the guy that came to our door suggested tipping the technician.  When I went to tip him, he said it wasn't necessary, but I suggested he take the tip.  We were told that for the next few weeks we would see a few more bugs while the product worked.  We did see a few more ants, but no problem.  We then went out of town for two weeks and had a friend stay at our home.  When we arrived home, we were horrified.  Our bathroom had several hundred ant carcasses.  Our bedroom carpet also had several hundred ant carcasses on it.  You couldn't walk anywhere without stepping on a carcass.  We called our friend that had stayed at our home and he confirmed that he used a different bathroom because to all the ants.  I was mortified that my house guest had such a problem.  I called Insight and was told this was normal and that meant the product was working.  Well, things only got worse.  I routinely saw 4 or more ants in my bathroom anytime I went in there.  I discovered they love Listerine.  I would see a dozen around a listerine ring.  They also love my toothbrush charger and I have seen 14 of them crowded around it.  One day I went to take my toothbrush off the charger and there were three dead ants squished under my toothbrush.  Sounds bad?  It gets worse.  I woke up one morning to an any scurrying across my face.  The next day, my husband rolled over in bed and was bit by a carpenter ant.  We now see them in our bed daily.  Two last night, so I now sleep in our family room.  I called Insight today and said they either get someone out here by 10 or give me my money back.  They said they were booked and after "trying really hard" they could get someone out tomorrow.  I told them I then wanted my money back.  She said she couldn't do that.  I then asked repeatedly to talk to her manager.  Her manager said they were booked solid and couldn't get there.  I asked for my my money back.  She transferred me to someone else.  After being on hold a long time, they said someone would be here in 10 minutes.  It took him over an hour to get here, but it is 10:02 and he arrived.  He is spraying all over my home again...missed my closet and didn't attempt my ceiling.  I failed to mention that we have spiders again.  I'm not sure if they are cellar spiders or brown recluse (I hear brown recluse eat dead bugs...)  I'll post after another week and let you know if the problem is resolved.   I thought it was interesting that their name is Insight since it make the ants IN my SIGHT!

    When the technician came to spray again, he sprayed my bedroom and bathroom.  He went to spray more areas.  I had to get ready for work, so I didn't see if he sprayed everything or just the areas I told him we were seeing ants.  I did show him the hole where the ants were coming from.  He said he would put some bait down, but unless he uses a different spray I didn't notice, I saw no bait.  I asked him to look at some droppings we had outside and he gave me professional advice about what critter he thought they were.   It only took him about 30 minutes to respray our home.  Considering the size, I doubt he sprayed it all.  When he finished inside, I was going to ask him to spray a huge ant hill outside by our front door.  When he finished, he left without saying anything (or asking me to sign anything).  Sp, the outside ants are alive and well.  After the spray, we saw about 12 ants all over our bathroom, but by day 3 there are no ants.  So happy the ant invasion is done!!!  When my cleaning lady came 3 days after the spraying, I asked her not to clean several inches from the edge in the bathroom so the spray would;t be wiped away.  Maybe that's what made the difference this time (maybe last time the spray was cleaned up so it wasn't killing the ants.)  I am so happy and relieved I see ho ants, but I will hire someone else next time.

    Larry was able to come out within a couple of days of us calling. I explained where activity was in the house and outside the house. The entire exterior was checked for entrances and only one minor area was found and sealed. Then he checked the interior garage area and the entrance problem was located in a hard to see, tight space. Larry not only sealed up the problem area but also to be safe sealed up an area that could possibly lead to problems later. He then went back in the house and set up traps in various places in the basement that we have seen mice and even in some areas we didn't think of, all while being very cautious of the fact that we have curious cats (useless for mice) in our basement. He will be out within the week to check the interior traps to make sure the issue is taken care of.
    Larry was very helpful with all my questions and I was very happy with the service. I feel pretty confident that our problem is taken care of and would definitely recommend Blackhawk Pest Control to anyone with mice issues.

    It was a wonderful experience. We live in a townhouse and he had to go around it twice. He was very knowledgeable and very interesting to speak too. I will use him again. I am waiting for him to put up another big deal. His big deal went up early and he called us right away and asked if we needed him right away. He was wonderful. I told him that I did not want to use it until September. I wanted to wait until everything was fresh and the ants would try to come in again. He was very accommodating. It was a wonderful experience with Angie’s List. We have a common wall, so we are not going to be able to get rid of all of them. He did get the multitudes and brought it down to do able. I would use them again.

    I was very happy with Pest-Stop.  They just seemed to know what they were doing.  For the mice they found places where they were getting in that I couldn't find and were able to block them, and for the ants they came and were very quick and I thought inexpensive compared to some of the other quotes I had.  It worked very well.  I am planning to have them come out again in another 45 days.

    Started on a good note. Ran into a mice problem last summer and it took a couple of follow ups to get a return phone call. Finally got scheduled for a week when he was in our area a week later. Just recently called to schedule service on a Saturday night after 7 p.m. for gosh sakes. Told him we were doing some remodeling and it would be best to schedule next month. He insisted he come out as he planned. Told us if it didn't work out we would still be charged. I had to call the office to make sure we wouldn't be charged for rescheduling service. I canceled our agreement after this.
