    I knew it was going to be a tight fit. Once they got the sofa inside the house and was trying to figure out how they would make the corner to get the sofa into my living room (the first available room) at the top of the stairs. They tried to stand the sofa upright and then turn it but my light fixture was in the way. I suggested that they take off the fixture and remove the light bulb. They at first said that they would not have to do that but then decided that it would be the only way. Once removed it was easier to turn the sofa and place it in my livingroom. Once the sofa was in the middle of living room, one of the young men asked me to sign that the sofa had been delivered. My response back was don’t I need to remove all the plastic and cardboard to make sure there are no damages. His response was “No” and that all I was signing was that the sofa was delivered to the first room in the house. He also went on to state that if there are any damages to just call Wayfair and they will take care of it on their side. I did not check for any damages to my home by this delivery, because I stayed upstairs and started to unwrap my couch to check it over. In fact it was my husband who noticed that our screen door would not close by itself when he came home. He then noticed that the closer attached to our door was bent preventing the door from closing by itself (which is the reason for a closer in the first place). Then when he started to go up our stairs he noticed the hole in our wall, which led him to really start looking around. He noticed the gouges taken out of our wood frame on our front door. And at the top of the stairs we have corner coves on our walls and the one at the top of the stairs was cracked and broken. My husband then came to me and asked what had happened and wanted to know if I knew about these damages, for which I replied “What damages”. I then called Wayfair and was informed that this is the delivery companies problem and that they should have insurance for when they do damage to a home. Wayfair also told me that if I have any trouble with this company to call them back and they would handle it from there.So I called and talked to a Robin on Monday. Robin responded on Tuesday by giving me the email address to bobbie@island-deliveries.com and said to send her the pictures of the damages and she is the person to go thru. I NEVER did ever get any type of response back from her. After a couple of days I then called the company to talk to her and was treated very badly. He pretty much accused me of putting the hole in my wall myself. He also said that because I signed that form that they were not liable. I told him that the young man told me I was signing that the sofa was delivered. I called back yet one more time and reached the owner and he was just as rude as the first guy that I talked to. He told me that The guys did not even have to bring the sofa in and then I told him I had an email from Wayfair that disputed that. He went on to tell me that they only had to bring it in the house. My response was “So they were supposed to leave the sofa on the stairs”. That is when he said that they did not have to place it in my living room just had to put it in the first room at the top of the stairs. I then said to him that the first room at the top of the stairs is the livingroom. I went back to Wayfair and told them of their rudeness. I then rec’d a call from Wayfair on August 13th that because Island Deliveries would not stand behind their service, Wayfair would pay for my damages. I am reporting Island Deliveries because I do not think that Wayfair should have to pay for the damages that this company did. I also checked them out at the Better Business Bureau and there were several complaints on there against them too.
